You have to consider tha fact that Jasper is not in the same league as Carthage. They have a legit shot at winning it all this year. Jasper is a good team, they just look bad when playing someone that clearly out matches them.You cant compare apples with oranges........Jasper will still make the playoffs in one of the toughest districts in the state........If Jimmy Johnson was the coach-Carthage still wins.

I have been going to the state tourney since 1972, I haven't missed a year since. Working on 38 straight years. The one person that I will always attach my memories of the tourney is Phil. He was what we always called him, "the man at the mic". The last few years he hasn't been doing as many games as he had been. His introductions of each team at the beginning of the games were priceless. You are so right, he will be terribly missed. Aggies, were you there when Phil burped over the mike? that was priceless!

Learned today that Phil Ransopher, the state tourney announcer passed away. I loved to hear his voice. He was a legend and an icon for many years at the state tourney. It just wont be the same and he will be greatly missed.

This one will be hard to perdict. Should be tough from top to bottom. If I had to pick a winner, I would guess Lufkin Hudson. Carthage, Center, Jasper and Huntington to duke it out for the other two spots. Carthage lost a lot and may get their players late, but they are well coached and will be in the mix.....they may want to go ahead and play the games just to make sure.....

they came in at 520ish last spring. ill take bc by 30 Close to a hundred of that number is what they call Pride School.(troubled students from surrounding towns)they are counted for funding but are ineligble for sports.....

Huntington opens the season at HJ. Wonder if that will be cancelled or moved?

Tarkington won 26-20 I beleive.........Huntington had the lead and the ball at the Tarkington 20 yard line and a first down with two minutes to go. Kid returns an interception for a touchdown.

How did Tarkington finish last year. Huntington seem to be getting better. Wonder how this one will pan out?
