a football or basketball town? Wins, loses, tradition?...Carthage won state in fb but probally had fifteen people show up for last bb game.....while we pack the gym most of time..

Do teams take on the strengths and weakness of the coach?......Do you have to be a good shooter to teach a kid how to shoot?...........a lot of head bb coaches dont have the help they need in good assistants.

The foot stomper seemed to change colors when the game started....that stomp sounded like a cannon....lol

Does the call ever go against the home team in Htown? We are the only team that I know who cant get a call at home.... ;D

No surprise......they played their game .

Years ago I called a few sub varsity games. The very first one had a game winning shot at the buzzer. I called it good and still dont know if it was the right call.......one was mad and one was glad and I was confused.....the human element makes room for error..........A good official is an asset to the game.........charge vrs block can be a sore spot especially if it goes against you....lol

Dicky V said something in a post that got me to thinking. He said the game was evolving and I believe that to be true. My question is is the game getting away from some of the fundamentals? Will what worked twenty years ago work today? Most all teams press now days. Turnovers are more common because of it. Do you not worry about how many you have as long as you have fewer than the other team?.... The mid range jumper is on life support......pure shooters are far and few between....do you change as the game changes or do you make the game change for you?

One thing I've noticed about Southerland and other good coaches is the ability to make the proper adjustments the second half of the game(example,this year reg. finals).....I'm sure this kind of thing comes with years of experience... even the best sometimes blow it.....had a very successful coach tell me once after a loss that he just got out coached by a rookie...lol Nolook, I would be curious to know if this loss that was incurred by that successful coach you knew took place in spite of the presence of the Gestapo. Am also wondering if that coach was old enough that he lacked sufficient familiarity with todays technology. He was a relic....he didn't know how to adjust to the rims being tilted at J-town......much less advanced technology that you,err I mean we have today........ ;D

I thought Baylor got shafted on a couple calls at a critical time......the tech and the moving screen was bad calls.....

Looked like they lacked intensity but Penn could of had something to do with that.....

Huntington will have two shoot outs. Jr. high through varsity in may and june. Will be some good ones if you dont mind driving a little.....

UConn and NC look like the best teams but I thought the same about Louisville until today.........OK's guards didn't show up.....MSU controlled the tempo and executed well.....Does MSU and Villanova have a shot?

Omg You're the smartest person I know!!! hah Louisville has been number 1 ever since they've played that terrible game against Notre Dame. 12 game winning streak...Now thats impressive. Terrance Williams is way too good! and Big East player of the year last year, Earl Clark, is beast Maybe we should reconsider....lol

I'm with dicky........depends on what school you are talking about. Basketball is the main sport here where as eight miles up the road its football. There are three 3A schools in Texas that dont have football. (two in our district)Hudson is close to 4A and have no plans to add fb.... I wonder how many 3A schools dont have basketball? Do all 1A schools have fb and bb?........country music is most popular in Texas. But I can't stand it...lol.........so beauty is in the eye of the beholder..

Also heard that Huntington will be there next year. Should be some good experience for H-town playing those caliber teams..........How will Sabine be next year? Only lost 2 seniors. Best players are all back. Sabine will be better than last year. looks like they will be loaded!
