WHERE??? What's his record this year so far?

Johnson is a great kid and good high school pitcher, just not enough speed on the ball to get the traffic, High 70's low 80's is a tough sell. I wish he would get a chance.
  2. The problem seems to be with the administration, they have hired two coaches they never should have hired. They ran a coach off that went to the playoffs just about every year, but did not travel in the right circles. The district has taken huge steps backwards in the last 6-7 year that won't be fixed overnight. I would worry about the athletes that are leaving district in the last 4 years andhaving great sucess in other districts and privae schools. The numbers have droped really bad in those years. They had 3 baseball teams now trying to get 2,with only 2 seniors on varsity. And  in football now tryin to get a JV and varsity with 25 kids on varsity come on see the problems before it crashes completely. Do not let a certin social or church group influence your decisions you are making for the students. Oh by the way the girls sports are still thriving and winning, the problem is not talent its the decision makers. Hire someone the players in all sports will respect, they don't have to like him but they must respect him. If they respect him they will play for him and his staff in all sports. The girls sports are a good example @ HF. Come on guys do the right thing.
  3. congrats to all of the young men. I do not agree with the pick of a running back that did not play in half the district games and has the 2nd worst attitude in high-school football. Only thing that would have been worse,is if the young man from kountze that was thrown out of two consecutive game for cursing the refs.
  4. Bad news from Horn land, more players leave the program. One of them a 3 year starter.Problems continue to plague the Horns. The problems run deep and are fixable if the supt. will step up and realize they screwed up and fix it before they loose another 5 years. Enrollment up football participation down.

  5. Sabine pass should be happy, they would not have a football team if it was not for the kids that live in PAISD and don't want to attend Memorial. I don't blame em

Why is this, what's wrong with MHS? ???

Not sure.but you can ask more than half of the starters on SP team why they live in PAISD but attend Sabine Pass. They should be able to tell you. SP sports programs could not survive if it was not for the influx of PA Students.

  6. The problems run deep at HF, look at the players that have left over the last few years and are successful in other programs and other sports. There are 5 seniors on the football team, and going to  be 2 on the baseball team. That is a huge problem for a 3A school the size of HF. I would bet Sabine Pass has more seniors with 1/3 of the enrollment. The girls programs thrive and are successful.  This will be hard to turn around if something is not done soon.

  7. I have watched HF over the past couple of years, and have a question. Why don't they use what they have? They have a huge O-Line and big FB and a lil speed at TB,so line up and and come at people. Then throw to keep them honest, and 10 people out of the box.The miss direction is not working. They have a 5'6' QB and a 6'2" line, hard to throw over the middle, the QB is another TB at the QB position with alot of speed-use him.I am not bashing, just observing.  What do the HF fans see? Horns by 7

  8. Like I said in the All District Post, HF will have a good Nucleus of Talent returning. Our strong point will

no doubt be on the defensive side of the ball. Offensively will are still looking pretty good, I believe

half of this years offense will be returning. The only thing that hurts is the holes we will have to fill

on the OL and we will need someone to step up and play QB. The little Soph. we had playing at the end

of the year is quick, but I have reservations about how durable he will be as well as the accuracy of his

passes. All in all HF should be competitive.

What happened to the fresh. QB last year? He threw at will against my nephew last year against BC. He looked like he was going to be a good one down the road. He was tall and could go long if needed.Did not see him in the JV or varsity game this year.
