Sorry man I played Football AND Baseball at a pretty tough academic school where athletes were cut ABSOLUTELY ZERO breaks. You go to school for free and I think you owe something to the school or whoever is paying for it. It's give and take...a contract between two entities if you will. Will payback ever happen...I doubt it. To think you're the all knowing because you played baseball in college...wake up. Might want to watch the insults when you don't know anything about the person you're talking to. Don't think I fall into the parent who's kid couldn't make it as a student athlete either...my son is 3. Your take is different and I will respect that...

Whaaaa, now I'm hearing some whining. What it takes to play on the D1 level...c'mon YOU ARE GOING TO COLLEGE FOR FREE!! That's an opportunity that many non-athletic students in the top 10% of their graduating class would love to have. Hence YOU DO OWE SOMETHING TO THE UNIVERSITY. If you don't take advantage of the opportunity then its your own fault. In these days of entitlement, I guess I shouldn't expect understanding of the OPPORTUNITY that colleges are giving to athletes and the OPPORTUNITY it takes away from someone else. PS - What Myron Rolle has done at Florida State is amazing.

Funny thing is this "ignorant" policy is the one that's been in practice at all the military academies for years. Don't hear any of them complaining.

There's always the thought of "if they show up for class on the 1st day of their junior year then they've committed." Anyone kicked out or leaving early after that has to repay all they owe. Kick a man when he's down, c'mon...just makes it that much more motivating to stay in!!

I'm sure we'd all come up with something different...Vin Scully wouldn't be my top choice but he's a top notch announcer no doubt. Can you get any more nondescript? Announcers are supposed to add something to the game...he adds nothing.

The possibility is there but you also can't complain if they give you what you wanted...ie if you were more worried about how the coach plays politics and not whether he wins or loses.

I think actually shows great leadership...yes you pushed the levers on election day but the issues have changed since then and your leaders want to be more in-tune with what you as constituents want. Plus, they are not afraid to ask for help in an area outside of their expertise. I applaud them for their efforts to gauge the opinions of those who elected them.

Probably going to be this kid...at least he's the best one coming back.

and somehow none of you Dayton fans took the time to nominate them. The nomination thread was up for a month. Bethea was the only Dayton defensive player nominated and that was just once. You don't. So you only need one nomination but Dylan was only nominated once??

Alright Dayton we only have ourselves to blame for not recognizing the contributions of our offensive line and our defense to the All SETX team. Jordan Baxter, Tony Hill, and Dylan Bethea definitely stand up with the best SETX has to offer on defense...especially the game changing, skull cracking, hit machine that was #21 in Purple. The two studs were easy to pick but a team is at least 22 players...a spread offense only giving up 3 sacks on the season and rushing for over 2000 yards?? None of the lineman may be college prospects but that's one heck of a performance.

Since when do you need more than 1 nomination?? I don't recall ever seeing a vote?
