Wow....a lot of stock seems to be going into the Crosby game.  Are we gonna get into all this again.....If Dayton gives Vidor the ball three times inside their own 20 and has 7 turnovers then Vidor will win.  Fat chance of that ever happening again.

Larry Singleton, Charles Chelette and Lance Billeaud I for one would like to thank these men; their efforts were truly heroic.  I think it would be great if BH - PNG would publicly recognize these men at the game and wish Mr. Davenport a speedy recovery.

Just like any other rankings you look at they're pretty much worthless.  10-0 is 10-0....don't care the district or the season.  PNG should NOT be ranked 15th....whether they're that good or not we'll see but 15th is ridiculous.

[Hidden Content] This is always fun to look at.  I wouldn't put much stock in it but still fun.  This thing predicted Dayton losing to Brenham 35-14 I believe...or 35-21.  Didn't quite work out that way.

Love our team....supreme confidence in our coaching staff.  We've watched this team grow and mature and everyone is settline into their roles.  They are starting to peak.  The who beat who is meaningless or who have you beat.  Dayton has problems against the spread offense with teams that can throw the ball.  I guess we had "problems" with Livingston....more like we beat them by 10 instead of 35.  I assure you this year's team is right in line with the past 2. 

It's only Tuesday and the smack talk is fading into good football analysis :(.  We haven't even made it past the our team is better than your team and gotten to the our town is better than your town (although we typically lose that battle, can we get a Wal-Mart at least?). Toups/RAPayne....can one of y'all post the stats of both teams?  What about starting line-ups?  Anyone from Vidor have some game film?  P4E has all the Dayton highlights out on Youtube (well he normally does but he's been SLACKING this year).

[/quote] Dang it....what is this??  There's no room on this thread for intelligent football talk!!  Dayton's strength on defense is stopping the run. The offense is balanced and capable of scoring every play.  The achilles heel has been turnovers.... Vidor did a good job forcing turnovers and stops against Lumberton.  Vidor is also BIG and will have to be able to take advantage of their size.  It's not really about pure speed either....it's about quickness and Dayton is quick.

[/quote] Dayton is better on defense and not quite as good on offense as last year's team.  They're not far behind offensively and have better overall talent but only one truly dynamic offensive players instead of two.

Vidor ran 37 times for 182 yards, but Pitman went 60+ on the first play of the game for Vidor and our guys clamped down after that! thats 36/122 or 3.4 ypc! That's not good for a team that don't throw much. I think Vidor has to come out with some playaction early and more often to soften up the middle. [/quote] I couldn't tell but it looked like PNG was running a 3-3 stack against central with a swing safety except on the goaline.  It was hard to tell what PNG's base defense was because I'm not sure I saw the same defensive alignment on consecutive plays all night.  I wouldn't expect much change from the Dayton defense for this weekend...just not as spread out.

Second that....we'll take it just as well as we give it and there hasn't been any Vidor town/people bashing....it's a my team is better than your team with some funny commentary along the way.  Some of us HAVE seen Vidor play this year and the all run wing t just doesn't look like its going to give Dayton trouble.

If PNG wins this region then they will have definitely earned it.  No cupcake games for them.

It's the same deal every year with HISD teams....they play nothing but other HISD teams including the first round of the playoffs and then get drug by the first team they play outside HISD in round 2.  Vidor/Dayton winner will be in the regional semi against El Campo against Brenham/PNG/Angleton.  Brutal bracket down there.

[/quote] I have seen both teams play this year and GCM will be a good early test for Central.  Central has the better defense and better overall team but you better get up early and not let GCM hang around.  RB Allen for GCM is a gamebreaker in space and the QB can throw on the run really well.  Plus Central is coming in off a two game losing streak and sometimes that can be a monkey on your back.

OMG I'm terribly sorry to hear that.  I saw the Ambulance and the fire trucks start from the overflow seating and thought one of the players was injured.  Prayers go out as well from Dayton.  Is there a website or address that we could send get well cards or anything to pick up his spirits?  Those really helped my dad during his heart attack.
