Just by looking at the stats you'd have to go with TR, then Cody. After seeing both CG and TR play they were pretty even, neither one stood out more than the other IMO, both were just spectacular. I have never seen Shephard play, can't give an opinion. I do know it will be fun watching them play on Saturdays!

Does anyone have an update on this case?

I was impressed with both sides of the ball. It was clear IMO and several others including sportswriters covering the game (from Dallas) that AJ Dugat was the best athlete on the field, hands down. One was quoted as saying "he's just a beast!". These teams were clearly as about as even as you'll ever see. Props to some of the SS faithful that we met on the riverwalk, good football talk and gracious.

As I said earlier in the week the game would come down to turnovers. Guess what? It did. Both teams were evenly matched and could throw and pound the rock. Would like to have seen Dayton run the ball a little more but that's just me. I was just amazed at how Dayton's O'line didn't give up a sack and SS's huge O'line did. Great job Dayton and congratulations to SS.

ok EOR, the past has nothing to do with the game? where do STATS, tendencies, and gameplans come from? why do coaches watch film on the opponents? So don't judge me off of 1-2 posts. Dayton is in no mans land as far as news coverage... Channel 11 and Channel 26 did have good reports on the Broncos this week. GO BRONCOS! Except for Giff Nielson, he started the clip by saying the Dayton "Bulldogs"?! Oh well.

Yeahp those are good spread numbers. No doubt SS can score, so can Dayton. It's gonna'be a barn burner.

I personally would never behave that way because in the end this should be about the accomplishments these kids have made and as far as I see it both sides belong where they are.....now, with that said, I would like to point out that there have been some SS fans that have singled out some of our kids and really made some horrible comments so I think the point you are making here really goes both ways, unfortunately- sad, but true... I got to looking at the stats in the Heath and Everman game and if it wasn't for the turnovers in both games, especially in the Heath game 5/4 there wouldn't be any of this smack talk going on. So the way I see it Dayton could be playing any of the three Everman, Heath, or SS. So, turnovers will determine this game. I know, I know, I know, Nascar is coming. It's ashame Dayton is going to have more horsepower. They might want to check our restricter plate after this game but I'll keep that on the down low.

I'm right there with ya but you have to throw all of that stuff out the windows for the state championship! It's just one game and that's all they are preparing for is saturday. Districts, stats, and all that stuff that made up the year don't matter come 2p on saturday. Dayton will keep doing what they've done all year to get here and so will SS. Must be the same way the Longview people feel..... (I still got ya back Lobos.) What's funny and I may have missed it somewhere is that I don't think one poster has questioned SS offense and how good they are. But we sure getting the overload on that. The overconfidence is great!

Yeah, I'll admit I bleed purple but every game I worry about our defense and they just keep proving me wrong, they just keep making the big plays when they need to. SS has a great QB but so does Dayton. I know that Dayton can match SS play for play. Barring any turnovers I believe that it will be close at the end. As anyone can see, to lose 5 defensive starters and still get this far shows what kind of athletes Dayton has. They don't suit out very many but definetely have some players. It's going to be interesting.

What's sad is no matter what there is going to be a loser come saturday. Both teams are capable of putting up lot's of points and it will definetely come down to the defenses. I can just imagine what is going through the SS coaches mind's when it comes to playing defense against Dayton's offense and vice versa against SS offense. This is what Texas highschool football is all about. Dayton is just as passionate about their football team as SS is about their's. Crazy how a bunch of adults get all fired up about their football teams, I LOVE IT!

Man that was a hard hitting game. The Brenham game reminded me of that game last year except for the score. I hope on saturday the defense will be cranking on all cylinders and knock some heads off!
