WOS played well in defeat. If I remember Carthage went for something like 4th and 12 inside their own 20 and made it. Big play in the game. Great team and went on to win championship. This was in the WOS run from 2012-17 went it took the state champion to end the Mustangs season.

Update: Dogfighting ring squashed. Reports from CBS affiliate KWOS and the Jasper Sheriff's department confirm a brutal dogfighting ring exposed earlier has been shut down. According to animal control supervisor Rafe McChafe, the fight between 11 pit bulldogs and 11 bull chihuahuas was stopped before "this slaughter" could unfold. McChafe says the investigation is ongoing and whoever is responsible, possibly the UIL, "has really stepped in it this time."

Carthage coaches seen at Silsbee/WO-S game taking notes. According to Carthage assistant coach Dude Tirdley they are scouting the Tigers for an early playoff round match up and also get a chance to see the Mustangs, whom they fear they will inevitably have to face later in the playoffs.

Silsbee wins this game. It's probably going to be a barn burner tho. The Tigers schedule have them tested and ready. They will not get out-athleted. When WO-S played Wimberly in '17 they had a QB who was like 7'6" and threw for 4 or 5 miles, don't think he's still there but it won't matter.
