Lady Bears fight off scrappy Lady Bulldogs Van Wade The Orange Leader LITTLE CYPRESS — They had their mettle tested early on but the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears made sure they were going to maintain their first-place status in the District 20-4A volleyball standings Tuesday night. Fourth-place Nederland pushed the Lady Bears to the limit in the first two games but LC-M poured it on in the end to notch a 24-26, 25-22, 25-11, 25-12 victory at The Bear Cave. Senior Christine Sicktich powered the way at the net for the Lady Bears (26-7, 9-1) but had plenty of help from fellow senior hitters Ashton LaVergne and Shelby Apperson. Sicktich finished with a match-high 14 kills while LaVergne posted 13 and Apperson 12. Sicktich also had a “smooth†service game, notching 16 kills to go along with eight aces. Allison Walker claimed 11 points and four aces. Elissa Tate had a solid all-around performance, collecting nine points, four kills and an ace. Shelby Sanchez served up eight points and two aces. Lady Bobcats power past Lady 'Stangs in 3 Gabriel Pruett The Orange Leader WEST ORANGE — It did not take long for the Orangefield Lady Bobcats to make sure they were still one of the top teams in District 21-3A. The Lady Bobcats defeated the West Orange-Stark Lady Mustangs in a sweep Tuesday by scores of 25-17, 25-13 and 25-13. It was a huge night for freshman Rylie Granger who tallied a match-high 23 assists. Senior Aimee Scales found a lot of those assists as she knocked home a match-high 12 kills. Sophomore Kaitlynn Henson was on fire all night and all over the court. Henson had 10 kills and an amazing seven aces. Five of Henson’s aces came in Game 3 when she pushed Orangefield ahead 17-8. WO-S was keeping Game 3 close until Henson came to serve with the score at 10-8. Henson struck for seven straight service points. Full Story Here

  17. This is one of the most competitive years, with the top 4 teams able to beat anyone on any night. I am going with Orangefield in 4. Good luck.
  18. Lumberton fell off after the two really good girls graduated. I forgot their names, and going by their 13-14 yr old Little Dribbler All Stars, it's going to be a while before they have the same kind of sucess.
