How could she utilize her more? She played the front row and served. I'm sure if she was more consistent with her spikes she would have got set more, but when you have someone like Laura Riddick on the front row theres no question on who to set it to.

Ancelot was a good coach, but she came into a group of girls who have been playing together since they were 9 and 10 maybe younger they played Little Dribblers and AAU for years. I'd say it was a huge part of why they were so good.

Orangefield beat a 5A by a lot that doesn't mean anything. HJ could beat 20 5As, if they aren't very good whats it prove? We will see about this district race I don't see anyone going undefeated.

What happend with the techs? Not to take away from Jasper, but Silsbee had 3 starters out that game.

This is a totally different team from Summer League. The younger girls have really stepped up, and that excatly what we needed. The "new system" seems to work great this this group. It's going to be a great season. How does Kountze look this year?

I have to agree with CoachK, Kountze may be good, but they aren't better than Orangefield, but I think poll goes by who wins and by how much because HJ beat Central pretty bad last week I think.

What were the scores for each game?

Orangefield could not buy a basket! Man, it looked like the WO-S game we lost last year, we couldn't hit a shot. We just aren't physical enough. Our big girls have to play big and get rebounds, and blocking out is key to doing that. I didn't see anyone blocking out and against an athletic team like Central you just have to do that. It was sloppy, but we all expected it to be. Once we get in basketball shape, its on.

I like it, but after tomorrow I'm sure it will change. I don't see Kirbyville staying on there long.
