Heard Lott was injured. Any truth to this?

MIF, I didn't mean to be disrespectful. However, back to back third place finishes with maybe the best player in the entire state is not really something to brag about. When I said threat in 5a, I was talking about playoff wins. On the fourth place finish. Maybe if 8-9 and 10 would have gotten to play it would have been third. Again not trying to be disrespectful or start an arguement. Just continuing debat.

Could this be one reason that WB seems to never be a real threat in 5A. It would seem like they have a huge number of kids to choose from yet never seem to be a real threat despite having a few outstanding players. On the surface it would seem that perhaps depth might be the only real weakness in some of the past WB teams. That is understandable since most high school teams 6 thru 9 whole hitters are most likley not playing select. And if the state of pony league and senior league is that bad off then these kids are left without much of a place to develop.

Bears have to much talent to loose to a team that went 1-9 last season. This one is a no brainer. Bears 28 CC 10.

Not some coaches, but all coaches who aren't AD's, teach and are under a teaching contract. If you were to compare the coaches teaching salary/coaching stipend to that of a teacher who got off work at 4:00pm every day and never went up on weekends (which is most of them and that is fine) and spent the same amount of time as a Wal Mart greater as the coach spends working with kids the Wal Mart greater would make considerably more money.

I think MIF is right about turning the thread into something it wasn't intended to be. But I have to disagree with BEARS about one thing. You made it sound as if since Hale and Tyner there haven't been any major signings. Perhaps admin could help me with this but I think that is way off base. UH, Wake Forest, Texas Tech, Lamar (several) McNeese State, and these are just Nederland players. Perhaps someone from PNG, LCM, Bridge City and Westbrook could help me out.

I couldn't agree more with your assesment about Bryant. I mean they struck out 17 times against LCM and I was told they didn't attempt 1 bunt and only one stolen base. Maybe it is partly our fault in not playing them close enough during district to prepare them for close games. But either way it would appear they were not prepared. Hope they blow everyone out in the playoffs, which is possible, or they are in trouble.

Where is Bigred tonight. My bet is he will blame this one on the umpires. That is always a good excuse. But the enrollment thing sounds like it could be him. But really I thought BC would win. Hats off to LCM. Clearly the best team if you beat Angelle with your number two. If you get a chance to come to Nederland tommorrow night we could use the support.

Coach B, I wish you would take your boys over to Bear country and show them what 3a is all about. We have already put a beat down on them once. You guys put one on them and I believe that would make them probably a third place finisher in our district. (maybe) I called a friend of mine from over that way and he gave me this 886-1582 ext 1430 Come on Coach call em out.

swarm, Don't you think the coaches such as Stone and Griff who seem to always have good players should get some credit for developing those players. Someone used the word "athletes" earlier. You can't tell me that Vidor, Ozen, and Nederland don't consistantly have just as good, most of the time better, athletes than PNG and LCM. Yet the total wins over the long haul have seemed to go to PNG and LCM.

Where as, there are several who have agreed with my asessment of your intelect and arrogance. Probably the people asking you to stop are from BC and wish you would go back to where you came, and I can understand their thinking. Now I am going to stop picking on you. It really isn’t fare. I was unaware you could use that word with "authority". But that's the way to show us. You are the man Bobcat, If you read his last post you would see why we let him have the last word. It was just sad. Not really worth responding to. I mean at some point it is unsportsman like to stay on him. But I went ahead and responded just this last time for you bobcat. Bigred, My point was even a casual follower of this district can see how the race will unfold. You are right, this is the first time your ego has allowed you to admit you were wrong.

Once again bigred, you are wrong. I am not from Vidor nor am I a particular fan of the district and I can see it all comes down to Thursday night when PNG and Vidor face off. But I am sure you will correct me, oh wise one.

bigred75 Once again I wasn't trying to take anything away from BC, just trying to explain one reason the point spread was far greater than most people thought it would be. But since you brought it back up. You guys pushing your game all the way back to Monday is no different than turnign on the sprinklers all night to give your pitcher an extra day of rest or to put the other teams pitching under stress. It was just more convient for your team so you moved it. It is just as unsportsman like and probably just as illegal. Someone should really look into. You guys are so arrogant you think you can just do what ever you want. But hey keep talking your trash. It is really making you look good.

I am not making excuses for HF. I am sure BC is the better team. But couldn't the wide margin have had something to do with HF traveling about 300 miles in 36 hours. (if I am right about the location of both games) Maybe they should have pushed WOS back to Monday. Was that an option? It seems to me they might have had a better chance tonight.

I would have taken HF in this one except for the pitching matchups won't be even. Very fortunate for BC they can move their Tuesday game all the way to the next Monday. Maybe HF should have done the same thing. Now they will have all 4 upper 80's pitchers available for tonight. I guess the upset will have to wait until the second half of district. Surely BC can't pull moving a game a week away twice. BC5 HF2
