Next year maybe a better game. PNG has a bunch back including both power 5 linemen, the QB, top receiver, Blair as well. Almost the whole line is back.

FBM up to 2 at one point. PNG up to three now, TC inside top 20 now. Nederland is better, FBW is better. Dayton not as good and GP and Santa Fe the same. Maybe I am missing something???

You gotta remember PNG was under a new coach and system that got better as the season went on. Also many kids played 16 games last season that came back. Thats an easy equation to make your district look weaker. I believe FBM is a small amount weaker. Texas City is better. Nederland is better, FBW is better as well.

The other thing I would add to that is PN-G's very first football game ever was against Silsbee in 1925. Silsbee won 7-0.

One of my memories of Silsbee is my senior year in high school 1992/93 we won the district championship. That was the year we beat the Mighty Mustangs of WOS for the first time in a while. We lost 2 games that season. The first a preseason loss to Silsbee was 27-17. Then we got Silsbee at TJ Stadium in round 1 of the playoffs. It didn't go so well for PN-G with a 42-17 loss. That Silsbee team was stout. They had a RB we could not ever get our hands on.

This game should be recognized more for the rivalry it is. Its one of the greatest in SETX. JASPER, Texas — Longtime rivals Jasper and Silsbee met the first time since 2017 Friday night in the 409Sports Blitz Game of The Week and the stakes couldn't have been higher. Undefeated Silsbee High School took home the District 9-4A-DII Championship after beating Jasper 26 - 23. The series, that dates back to 1922, is led by Jasper 43-33-2. Post from last season.
