  1. This Houston Kipp Sunnyside, has some good players, I thought during warm up, our school messed up on the schedule and named the wrong school. Kipp looked like a San Augustine from a few years ago, big and athletic. HD looked sharp with finally having their 2 year signal caller back, he has been out with injury all year. The HD O-line dominated this game, averaging about 250lbs across the line. Jeremiah Loften ran for approximately 150 yards and 2 TD’s, Dawson Victorian ran for approximately 125 yards and 2 TD’s. Cayden Anders was all over the field on defense and ran the ball well. Connor Drake looked dominant at DE/TE, CB John Ypma played outstanding! DT Dylan Scott and lineman Isaac Garcia played well. QB Landyn Sellers played good, averaging over 6 yards a carry all night, with a TD and several 2 point conservations. Great job HD!
  2. HD is finally getting some injured players back this week, that have been out all season, including the starting QB. HD 42 Sunnyside 12
  3. Thinking Evadale vs HD and Burkeville vs HD are gonna be tougher, both teams are good. I do agree HD vs DV will be electric!
  4. Congrats Coach Bird on your 1st HD victory as the head guy! The future looks bright, HD’s injured players will be coming back soon. Good job HD Nation!
  5. The Bobcats will be ok. I see our healthy Quarterback returning and us doing well in District. HD Nation 26 WH Oilcans 6
  6. Nice try pal, funny how you and other haters hover toward all Hull-Daisetta posts lmao! Appreciate you coming out pal! 😂😜
  7. I see what John is saying, it's definitely had me frustrated, to know HD has the athletes, but not getting to see them utilized sometimes sucks. I will say, it's early in the season, HD has had a very unlucky off-season, many injuries and misfortune, I do believe in Coach Bird, he will get this ship turned around and sailing. Yes, I also feel like Jeremiah will be a big asset to the rushing attack, he will have to get in shape and learn the plays. When District starts, hopefully by the WH game, Coach has Jeremiah at starting fullback. The key is getting Dawson and Jeremiah on the field at the same time, Dawson is keyed on now, especially with Sellers out. When Sellers comes back vs WH, teams know he throws lasers, Drake at TE and Anders at WR will be important targets down field, makes HD's offense harder to stop, gives DC's nightmares.
  8. Think I got to agree with ole John, Anders is a stud defensive player, probably 1st team all-district, but the combination of Dawson at TB and Jeremiah at FB, will be what makes or breaks HD this year, if they want to beat D-Ville this year and win District. Jeremiah Loften can take it 80 yards and is physical. Anders at WR and Drake at TE, will give Sellers big arm targets.
  9. Silsbee would have been a closer classification match up, than the HD vs Hardin.
  10. Totally disagree, what an asinine comment, HD has 14 playoff appearances since 2000, the majority of those years HD won their District Championship. I’d say that is definitely not a downward spiral lol, admittedly not great, but not below average… HD has never been that great, probably since their last State Championship, maybe good at times, so downward spiral, no…
  11. I wouldn’t say heavy lol, but with all the HD injuries, and Hardin as two classifications bigger, yes Hardin was favored. Game canceled due to both schools with lots of covid cases.
  12. Ole John is down about that last game. I get it I was upset too. I know Coach Birdwell will get our boys focused, and I'm betting he gets the right kids on the field. HD 20 Hardin 14
  13. I was surprised Somerville looked like they did in warm ups, huge team, with several stud skill players, easily looked like a 4A team. I’m gonna follow how they do this year, I bet they do well in District, probably win a playoff game. Their NT was about 5’10 300lbs, the DT about 6’3 280, they played well. The QB was definitely a dual threat type, the RB’s and WR’s all were very athletic with speed. HD has to get healthy.
  14. I watched Kountze in the scrimmage with Tarkington and HD, they definitely are loaded with athletes this year, 3 of the lineman are huge, like 6’3 over 270lbs, 2 of the RB’s built like Frank Gore lol, the WR’s are athletic and fast, the Lions killed both teams at the scrimmage. Kountze never seems to put it all together on the football field, basketball yes. Hardin has to be much improved under Ned Barrier.
  15. Yes, Kountze has some horses, for Hardin to win is huge.
  16. I’m shocked! Wow! I agree with John that HD was very flat and no fire in 1st half. The starting QB Sellers being out starting FB Jeremiah out and missing two starters in the DL and OL Chris Warren and Cayden Robinson hurts big time. I have faith our Coaches will get the right kids on the field HD has talent we gotta get them healthy and off the sidelines! HD will be ok. The good news is Somerville is good and they would have beat anyone in our District tonight easily. HD will bounce back.
  17. Coach Buckner went 19-40 at Santa Fe, then 9-48 at Warren, wow... Lot different from Coach Williams.
  18. Great question, does Coach Bird stay with the slot-t, beings he has a staff and players that are familiar with that system? Or, does he roll with the spread and utilize one of the most talented players HD has ever had, in Sophomore Dawson Victorian. If you haven't seen this young man play, it's worth the admission lol, he is long, fast and agile, build and athletic looks just a young Chase Harrell that graduated from Huffman and now plays for the 49'ers, Chase and his brother played at HD, then moved to Huffman. We shall see.
  19. The HD Bobcats hire Coach Randy Birdwell as the new Athletic Director/Head Coach! Welcome back my ole HD teammate! HD Nation! Congrats!
  20. That could happen, although HD actually pays really well for 2A and the area, around 75k give or take a few.
