DV has some talent. HD’s future is very bright, so many young under class man with talent. HD is getting better every week, they have some kids (about 5) that are Sophomores and could start at 3A&4A schools. DV won’t lay down, especially playing in DV, they always scrappy.

HD yes, on the verge, young and talented under class-man group. HD is mostly Sophomores and Freshman. Lots of speed in the skill positions.

This game could potentially be the District Championship. DV looked good vs Legacy. HD has been showcasing some young talent the last two games. Should be a good game. Who you got? lol, HD Nation! 5 Horseman this year! FB/DE Bryce Aguirre, RB/CB Devante Broussard, RB/CB Dawson Victorian, QB/SS Landyn Sellers, TE/LB Cayden Weeks-Anders. Most these young men are under classman, HD is loaded for 3-4 more years. Crazy thing is, those 5 players could go start for most teams in the area. HD finally is putting it together.

HD goes on the road to take on 1st Baptist Christian, from Abshier Stadium in Deer Park. After 2 weeks of 3A games, HD looked much improved vs 2A competition, with a 46-0 win over rival WH. HD rushed for over 500 yards. HD made some Offensive line adjustments and it showed, 6’2 290lb Sophomore OT #73 Slade Ford, blocked well in his 1st start. HD’s Senior FB Bryce Aguirre, rushed for 249 yards and 3 scores. HD’s Sophomore RB Devante Broussard showed his track speed and athleticism, rushing for 141yards and a TD. Freshman Dawson Victorian showcased his long athletic build/skills on making some key plays for HD, while scoring 2 TD’s. Sophomore QB Landyn Sellers demonstrated his dual threat capabilities at QB. Junior LB Cayden Anders-Weeks was all over the field, leading the team in tackles. HD looks to keep the good play rolling, with their mostly under class-man team.

Yep, Coach Finney rekindled the HD Bobcat athletic program, especially football and girls athletics. Without that hire, HD would be down for the count. HD went undefeated in District 2 year in a row, lost to power Alto 2 times in a row in playoffs, by like 6 points combined. Alto went deep both those two years. Shame we lost Coach Finney, there is something special about the man, may not be a better AD/HC for rebuilding 2A-3A programs in the State. Everywhere he goes, he wins. Students just wanted to play for Finney...
