And when I say "respect given back" it coincides with not knowing when to stop. Like giving saying that you were just messing around or stuff like that. 95% of us Vidor fans on here get tired of it...
+ karma for you

Unfortunately, your reservation for several weeks has been shortened to a  one week stay by a Mr. Crosby. Enjoy your stay and we will see you back here in a few years. (I kid, I kid, so dont put stupid hate replies on here Vidor fans, just stating my opinion.) Vidor - 21 Crosby - 35 In all seriousness, I dont think Vidor has the scheme to compete with Crosby. I said it at the beginning of the year that if Vidor makes the playoffs, they will need to have a passing game to compete and so far they havent implemented much of one.
Why do you think Crosby can handle our scheme? We lost 2 district games by a total of 13 points. We were 1 4th down pass away from sharing the district title with your dogs.I realize that it is your opinion but I am confused as 2 why you think Crosby is gonna man handle us? You are correct in the fact that we do not throw much but, I think this Vidor team has shown that they can do it better than past teams when they have to.This is just my opinion.
Ill make it real simple for you. Crosby beat PNG in a shootout. PNG is better than Vidor. Now I am not just simply using the old logic of Team A beat Team B and Team B beat Team C so therefore Team A will beat Team C. What I am saying is, PNG can compete in a shootout. It is my personal opinion that Vidor does not have the style nor weaponry to compete in a game where the other team can score really fast.
Well Livingston beat PNG and we beat Livingston. And i know your gonna spout the bs about missing mays but you can not argue with the outcome. PNG lost to Livingston. A team that Vidor beat. That's the facts. It is not a fact that if mays was playing that Livingston would win because there is no way of proving that. There are the Facts. But in other words Vidor does pass enough to win any game IMO. They average 65 passing yards a game. That's enough to keep the defense honest towards the pass. And Vidor can't compete in a shootout? We scored 15 points on PNG in the last 5 minutes of the game.  ::)  8)
The QB that did that doesnt play anymore.
There were two QB's that did that.
Alright fellows lets not get into who should be playing over who...The team has been very successful this year when the kids have played in the situations that the coaches have ask them to play in.
Where did I say one was better.  Just correcting 2cents clouded memory of the game he is refering to.

 5. Congrats Ozen.  Good luck in the playoffs from Vidor.  Go get em.  Thanks for the support at the game last night.

Great season, was fun to watch.  Jeff, the coaching staff and players have definetly changed the culture in the program. Some of these kids have now played on two playoff teams. I do have one response to a comment though, about the school board needing recognition. Don't think so, this is not the same one that hired Jeff in 1999, I think only a couple were on the board when he was hired.  Also totally different administration.  Congrats to the former board members and administration for hiring Jeff and supporting him and his program. Go Pirates
No, congrats to the former football players and athletes of the late 90s for starting and getting a petition signed to present to the school board in order to get Coach Mathews hired as head coach and AD.
::)
Why the eye roll?  To me, that is a big deal.  It is a huge honor to have kids you've coached, taught, and mentored want more for you and to do whatever they can to get that.
A big deal that a bunch of upset wantabes can sign a piece of paper and get a coach hired or Fired.  Come on man.  If that was the case Jeff wouldnt be here either.  We would be on our seventh or eighth coach by now if this was the norm since the 90s.
It is a big deal.  No one got that coach we had from Lumberton fired except himself and his mouth.  One of the main reasons Coach Mathews was chosen is because of the respect everyone always had for him.  Something like that would never be a norm because I doubt a bunch of high school kids could come to a consensus like that often.
::)X2  This is the problem

 10.
I would have to say Quirante from Vidor and I can honestly say its not a homer pick..Kid plays both ways about 99% of the snaps.Hyper extended his elbow in the 3rd quarter of the Ned game and came back in at the start of the 4th quarter and played at a high level.Played the next 2 weeks with his arm in a soft cast.
Every kid plays with injuries.  Powell in the same game on defense dislocated his knee on defense and had an MCL strain got his knee wrapped on the sideline and came in three plays later to finish the game at QB and on defense.  ask the Nederland fans on the comeback he put together in that game.  Sorry but every kid on every team has some sort of injury.  No heroics just playing the game.
 11.

No brainer. Quirante    Vidor
Didn't impress me Friday night. They actually moved the ball better when they switched QBs. Before you Vidor folks start flippin' out, I'm not saying he is not a good player. Just saying take him off that team and Vidor is still pretty good. Green gets my vote. As Green goes so goes Ozen.
Oh you are going to hear it now.  ;D
 12. Green for sure.  But Jones is one Heck of a back also.  Great one two punch when both are in the game. Both great athletes
 13.
I had originally picked Livingston to win this one, but I'm going with Vidor in a close one now that Mays is out. I hope Matthews gives that back-up QB more chances to throw the ball.
The problem Vidor has is that we have several kids playing both ways.  The Qb you are refering to #16 Powell is one of them and  has started several games this year at QB also and starts on defense.  Really fast also, but didnt get to show that much at the PNG game.  Kids just get worn down when they play both ways.  .  But they have done pretty well with this combination throughout the year.  Boy can throw the ball pretty good though.  ;D
 14.
The Vidor O Line has been good for several years. Dan Welch was a great O Line coach for PNG and has worked wonders for Vidor. I think it is no suprise that Vidors rise the past three years corrolates with the hiring of Welch.
I agree,  Coach Welch has done a great job with sitting the boys down and really teaching them how to play the position.  The kids think he is great.  Thankfully he is doing better and better everyday from his heart attack a couple of weeks ago.  He is a good man.  These boys playing the line this year are a special group of kids.
 15.
Just so you folks know, that sign represents the Pirates taking a knee at the start of the game & the 3rd quarter when the boys run from the tunnel and take a knee @ the 28 yard line to let #28 Matt Thomas know that they are playing for him.
Thats what I thought it was for.  Nice tribute to Matt and his teammates.
 16. Good game Indians. You beat our tails.  Hats off to you.  We finally decide to get off the bus in the fourth quarter.  PNG,  Hope you guys have a long playoff run this year.  You true "Pirate Fans"  that ran out of the stadium after PNG went up 22-0.  You missed a pretty good game.  To the Pirate O-Line:  You guys are still the engine that makes this team run.  You guys did a great job in the fourth trying to keep PNG off of AP so he could get those passes off.  Everyone knew we were throwing and you guys did a great job giving him just enough time.  AP took some pretty hard shots as he was letting the ball go but keep picking himself up off the turf and playing on.  Good job 16 and Great job by the men up front.  I still say you guys up front are the "MVPs" of this team.
 17. Congrats from Vidor.  GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DOGSSSSSSSSSSSSSS  Way to go guys.

In the meantime, good luck tonight against the Jags and I am pulling for you guys to honor Matt with the win tonight!
Great post! Good luck tonight Pirates! I hope y'all win tonight for Matt and it helps in the healing process for his family and the Vidor community.
Great posts guys.  The outpouring of support from the SETX community has been instrumental in the healing process here in Vidor.  Thank you very much and I pray our boys play with the same courage tonight that  Matt always demanded.  Hopefully tonight wont be just separation night for the Pirates but a step towards healing and the dream Matt and his teammates had.  The playoffs.
 19. Truely moving on a very hard day.  Thanks Central and thank you Mr. Mojica for your words at the funeral.  It was touching.
 20.
I think the Vidor folks need to focus on there one real rival over the past several years in Central this week. This reminds me of the "LTRain" from a few years back. Were are they now? Can't find a single one of them on here.
Its not "Folks" its folk.  Trust me,  He/She does not speak for Vidor.  Every community has its nut cases.
 21.
I've just read the full article.  According to the Beaumont Enterprise, the player was non other than Jr. Linemen Ricky Mojica, a 3 year letterman.  His cousin plays on the Vidor team and he gave a powerful speach for the Vidor Football players that non will soon forget.  Such a great gesture courtesy Jaguar Country and Pirate Nation!
Soulja,  He did your community proud.  To get up in front of about 2000 people in that situation was great.  I for one can tell you that I was extremly proud of him and I know Jaguar nation is as well.  I didnt think I could have much more respect for the Central community then I already had but I was wrong.  Very good young man.  Mr. Mojica you did good.
