  1. Brenham - 31 Crosby - 24 By Quarter Crosby 7 17 0 0 24 Brenham 7 10 14 0 31 Looks like no Crosby offense in the 2nd half
  2. Elgin by 10 - Dayton Defense will give up the big plays
  3. Where was the big 40+ point blowout? Everyone thought I was crazy on the prediction thread when I was picking Livingston. A couple different plays late in the game and it would have been a different outcome. Dayton is a good team but the looking forward to the state championship game is going to catch them one night. Best of luck Dayton and congrats to Livingston on a great year.
  4. Oh, you didn't get the memo..... The colors have changes to Columbia Blue, Red and Silver! (had to do it, hahah)
  5. I was also at the game as an eight year old. I do remember it was cold and rainy weather. Even then as an eight year old, I got the sense something special was happening at this game. Could have been the spark for my love of high school football. Funny the things you remember as a youth, as we were driving to Dallas, I remember all of the PNG cars painted up but one saying stuck out the most to me..... Down the Drano with Plano!
  6. Alot. PNG has an alum as NFL head coach and one as one of the more prominant OC's in College Football. TJ has had a slew of HS coaches come out of their program over the years. Most recently Dodge (Southlake), Stump (West Brook), Stump (BC), Nueman (Nederland). Not to mention Jimmy and the hair! ;D I think the point of the original post was that both coaches will face each other in the playoff game this Friday night AND both are Lumberton Alumni.
  7. Actually Jacob Hanna had 4 TD'S AND Punting duties with a couple resulting in Nederland with bad field position
  8. Thanks for the get well ozen, but I will have to disagree on the NICE HIT. I blame PNG's coaches for this. Those players were going for those knees the entire game, not just his either. They were going for the knees from start to finish even after he went down the very first time and then came back in 5-10 min. later. They went right at the knees again and again. He went down a 2nd time and went back in again and they go straight for the knees until he finally had to leave the final offensive series of the game. There are other players on the team that are dealing with the same crap, but not to the extent of his injury, because of that. They went at the knees when he was on Defense and they went right to them when he was on offense. No other team that we have played this year has even come close to what PNG was doing. It's a bunch of crap! This injury did not have to happen on that particular play. He was already bottled up by 2 defenders and wasn't really going forward anymore and then he see's it comin and a 3rd guy comes in straight for the knee. No reason for it at all. I would understand if it was a complete accident. For example, if he were about to run a smaller defender over and the kid thought better of it and went low. That's cool, because those things happen in football, but not this. I know people are going to come on here and argue with me and tell me that it's perfectly fine what PNG was doing because it's legal or whatever but it sure ain't ethical for coaches to be teaching HS kids to be doing this to that extent. This ain't the NFL where guys are getting paid millions to take somebody out, these are kids that have a future to think about. I guess PNG and their coaches will do anything to win...anything. Like I said, I know some of U are going to disagree with me on this and say this happens all of the time and injuries are a part of the game and it's perfectly legal what they were doing, etc. I don't think it's right, atleast not in HS. I don't blame the kids for this as they are just doing what they're taught...by their COACHES. I hope Mr. B gets what some of the PNG faithfull are already wanting to happen. Given the recent PNG / Central behavior; I have to almost agree with "U" above about the intentional hit(s). Look to be a pattern for PNG and the rough season they had.
  9. 20? This team doesn't get held under 40 in district and Livingston's going to hold us to 20? Yes, now you play in 19-4A NOT 20-4A. Dayton can be beat! A good passing team will expose Daytons defense just ask Friendswood.
  10. My understanding is..... In the eyes of the UIL, the "official" title will be District CO-Champions with Livingston BUT In the eyes of football fans everywhere, it is understood Lumberton is the sole district champ since its owns the head to head with Livingston. UIL only uses head to head match ups for playoff tie breakers and playoff seedings. Glad to see a Lumberton fan acknowledge that in the eyes of football fans everywhere, it is understood Dayton was last year's sole district champ since it owns the only applicable tie breaker with Lumberton and PNG. Negative, Lumberton beat dayton last year. Positive, lumberton beat Dayton, PNG beat lumberton, Dayton beat PNG- The head to head cancels out- The next tiebreaker is point differential, which Dayton won. You can't just use the parts you like. If that was the case why was it declared CO-champs?

UIL only uses head to head match ups for playoff tie breakers and playoff seedings. I just put my glasses on to see your point of view and it still came out fuzzy. It's Co-Champs no matter how you look at it. What is so hard for people to understand about that? It's like the year back in the 90's that PNG shared the title with whomever and still had shirts printed that said "District Champs". Even at the playoff game we attended in College Station I felt compelled to point out the error to some unsuspecting kool-aid drinker from Port Neches while dining out at Chili's. : Maybe I should have qualified my statement by saying, "In the eyes of football fans that apply common sense to the equation, it is a gentlemen's understanding Lumberton is the sole district champ since its owns the head to head with Livingston. The UIL is main goal is to establish a STATE championship via playoff system not bickering on who beat who for the district title. Week 11 and beyond is what matters! Last year was justified / understood by saying CO-champs because each of the three teams beat each other (again, common sense applied). Sorry if that is still fuzzy to you.
  12. I just want to thank who ever was responsible in mid county for the REAL train horn blowing off in the distace just prior to kickoff (assume it was on the twin city highway tracks). That was an ironic situation to set the mood for Lumberton fans and get the team going.
  13. I will be the first one to say it..... Livingston in an upset 21-20. Dayton get caught looking past the Lions (we all can have a dream, can't we?)

  15. Friday, November 14: Lumberton vs Crosby at Humble's Turner Stadium Stadium directions HERE! Please post if info changes!
  16. You are exactly right. In all fairness I can see no logical reason to pick Nederland to win this game. Can they win it? I think so, but I think Lumberton has duely earned the right and reason to be favored to win. They have played consistantly well for all of district. They have a solid team that has pretty well steam rolled everyone they have played including Livingston which is a good team. I will make a prediction and PRAY that I am wrong since I am obviosuly a Dog fan. I say 35-42 points for Lumberton because the Dogs have not been able to slow down a decent offense yet. Lumbertons offense should be the smartest and most creative we have seen so far. 28 max for the Dogs because Lumberton has a salty defense that plays smart agressive football, they will be in Bellows face all night and know how to at least slow Grogan down. When Bellows starts having to deal with pressure the coaches will panic, abandon the short creative and safe throws and the run,, and start trying to get it all in one which is what always happens, that will be the end of it. If the Dogs playcallers can find a way to start the game with Grogan sucessfully moving the football and then stick with it, passing short and quick to keep Lumbertons defense honest then we have a chance. I we try to take 25-99 yard chunks in the air burying themselves in 3rd and long situations and only run to open up the passing game, I think we will lose handily. I dont really care if I am wrong, and honestly I hope I am. Its just my opinion. Michael, you nailed this one with your comments above - Can you look in your crystal ball and tell me what Lumberton will do against Crosby?
  17. Thanks Nederland fans for the comments - We all expected #2 to get more carries down the stretch and break a big one but QB was running for his life. Great game good luck in the playoffs.
  18. Just to clarify Hanna had 338 yards on 33 rushes (Houston Chronicle site) - Great game, congrats to the entire team and coaching staff for successful regular season! Keep the Train rolling! Also Hanna secured the 20-4A rushing title 1. Jacob Hanna 161 attemps for 1,239 yards 2. Wareall Grogan 143 attemps for 1,078 yards 3. Joshua Wright 120 attemps for 725 yards
  19. Shoot, reading the post above lets go ahead and give Dayton the trophy now and save everyone some time and gas money. I understand fans being proud of their team but EVERY team can be beat. If it is in the 1rd or 4th round, lets get it on!
  20. neither l train or the lions will beat dayton what are you drinkin or smokin i want some of it lol That is why we play the games, anything can happen! ask Nederland, ask Dayton, ask LaMarque
  21. Anyone going?? We bring the ENTIRE city when we travel! Just a question, for a Nederland home game, do they show the visitors replays?
  22. Man what a fickle bunch...... 2008 Pre-season - People were saying... - PNG was crowned district champs - L-train was a one-hit wonder in 2007 - Underdog status Start of district games - People were saying... - Nederland was crowned district champs and most predicted them unbeaten in district play with their high powered offense ??? - L-train played soft non-district schedule, won't contend - Underdog status Nederland two game district losing streak - People were saying... - Nederland won't make playoffs again - Lumberton not the team of last year but somehow keeps beating teams they are not suppose to - Underdog status Nederland escapes Vidor with a win - People are saying... - There baaaccckkk, Crowned greatest offensive team of all time and will roll Lumberton in week 10 - One reg season game remaining and everyone is looking UP at Lumberton in district play, guess what, we still have our Underdog status heading to play Nederland I just don't get where people formulate these crazy opinions - Look at the numbers If you take the two common playoff team opponents for each here is what get. Nederland 10 Central 20 = -10 Nederland 50 Livingston 55 = -5 Avg 30 ppg and give up 38 = -8 Lumberton 34 Central 20 = +14 Lumberton 37 Livingston 16 = +21 Avg 35 ppg and give up 18 = +17 I can only assume the predictions / opinions are based on emotion and not actual stats. (You can also throw the Vidor stats in there but you still get the same similar results) Bottom line... Lumberton' Defense will step up but a great defense is also a ball control offense!
  23. I hope Dayton has everyone healthy, we don't want to hear about who didn't play in this game and the outcome would be different! (Just a little stir, couldn't help myself)
