  1. This year's Warren Warriors give 150% in every game. They hustle until the last second. IMHO, more time should have been spent developing shooters rather than developing plays to get the ball to one shooter. The coach has got to take some of the blame on this one. As far as putting in the work during the summer, I know for a fact one of them was in the weight room every day it was open...Most of the boys on this team have no off season.

  2. I would just like to say something to all you Warren Warrior football players,

The fact that you have not quit for one second this season says a lot more about your characters than winning a football game ever will. You have been good sports throughout and that is not an easy thing to do considering the unfortunate season we have had. Tempers have stayed in check and not every team can say that.

Seniors, enjoy this last game. Do your best as always and have fun. Your "Go Meat" cheer and silly dance will make me smile for years to come. I love you guys and am so proud of all of you.

    [move]GO WARRIORS, BEAT THE LIONS!!!

  3. Coachkfan, as a coach, why did you have to bring up that situation and embarass this girl further? Everyone who follows VB in Warren knows enough about this situation to know who you were talking about. Just had to get a digg in huh? As a COACH you should have just congratulated the ladies wished them luck and stopped there. Sounds like a maturity issue...

  4. Prayers out to the kid from our family also.  Last spring there was a young athlete from Warren hurt in a similiar accident (last name Foxworth), does anyone from that area have any updates on that young man?

His name is Harley Foxworth and he was the one wearing jersey #70 that delivered the game ball in the helicopter to our Homecoming. I don't know any details but he is in school and looks to be very well!

  5. Ike: How much should we trust the three-day forecast?

We're now probably less than three days from Hurricane Ike, which now has 90 mph winds, making landfall along the Texas coast. The natural question to ask is, can we have confidence in the hurricane center's forecast near Port Lavaca?

There are several ways to answer that question. Foremost, we can look at the average error for three-day forecasts, and find that it's about 160 miles. Galveston is only about 130 miles from Port Lavaca.

Now we'll look at the forecasts for Katrina, Rita, Wilma and Gustav.

    Hurricane Katrina

    Date of landfall: Aug. 29, 10 a.m.

    Actual landfall: Louisiana-Mississippi border

Forecast landfall: Fort Walton Beach, Fl.

    Forecast error: 190 miles

Forecast winds at landfall: 115 mph

Actual winds at landfall: 125 mph

    Hurricane Rita

    Date of landfall: Sept. 24, 4 a.m.

    Actual landfall: Johnson's Bayou, La.

    Forecast location: Palacios

    Forecast error: 200 miles

Forecast winds at landfall: 140 mph

Actual winds at landfall: 115 mph

    Hurricane Wilma

    Date of landfall: Oct. 24, 7 a.m.

    Actual landfall: Cape Romano, Fla.

    Forecast landfall: Bonita Springs, Fla.

    Forecast error: 35 miles

Forecast winds at landfall: 100 mph

Actual winds at landfall: 120 mph

    Hurricane Gustav

    Date of landfall: Sept. 1, 8 a.m.

    Actual landfall: Cocodrie, La.

    Forecast landfall: Cocodrie, La.

    Forecast error: 0 miles

Forecast winds at landfall: 120 mph

Actual winds at landfall: 110 mph

  6. I did not imply that they were superstars, I did not even imply that they would have made a difference. I simply said "Brandon Young and James Blackshear were both on the sidelines". They do bring a lot of speed, experience, and heart to the team.  The Warren boys know they are in for a long season. I don't see anyone on here for Warren talking trash so why the need to post that they are "terrible" and "pathetic"????                                                                                        Regardless, our boys will give everything they have for every minute of every game.
