Oh really ? We are going to give up 42 pts to Central. We haven't given up 20 pts to any team this year. You really need to stay on the Vidor message boards and try to figure out why your team under achieves every year. This was supposed to be Vidor's year they had everyone back. They couldn't even get a first down against PNG much less score. You absolutely can compare playing against the same opponents! Central has more speed but PNG's defense has shut everyone down this year. We don't have to score 50 pts to win. (Or lose in Vidor's case)
[/quote]Attention everyone...Do not give a prediction on this prediction thread..If you pick against PNG you get the above mentioned response..Its people like you that make it hard to pull for PNG.

I think  Vidors singlemost retarded coaching decision was not repeatedly running the long pitch play until the Dogs figured out how to stop it. Nederland is absolutely hideous at defending the outside running game and absolutely cannot beat anyone to the corner. The Pirates made the Dogs look stupid everytime they ran that pitch and yet they only ran it 4-5 times, each time for huge gains. Had the Pirates run that play as their bread and butter instead of trying to prove you could run inside I think Vidor would have run over the Dogs. Learn to play to your strength and maybe
one day you will make the playoffs. I know no one wants it any worse than the Pirates.

  3. Black Pearl, thank you for responding, that reminds me.  Gifts are nice.  Too bad Vidor didn't capitalize on last year's gift and they stayed home during the playoffs.  I wonder if that happens this year?  Chances are good that it does.  But Vidor is a giving bunch, they returned the "gift" when they went for two in OT against Central this year.  Some say Vidor would give you the shirt tail off their back.  If you want to know how a real, excuse me, a great two point conversion play, check out the one Lumberton ran against Dayton and won 8-7.  You're right Soulja, that's funny......  ;D :D ;D :D ;D :D ;D  I'll bet Coach Parker liked that one!!

We will have to see about the staying home part Still alot of football left. As for Vidor being very giving to Central..Not the case. They capitalized of our mistakes and beat us as good teams should. Now that shirt tale you speak of...You will have to ask the guys at Lumberton. They know how real it is.
  4. Port Neches-Groves     (6-0)        (3-0)                  160       77

    Beaumont Central        (5-1)        (3-0)                  176     126

    Vidor                         (5-1)        (2-1)                  221     122

    Lumberton                  (4-2)        (1-2)                  155     120

    Livingston                  (3-3)         (1-2)                  201     182

    Nederland                  (2-4)         (1-2)                  108     161

    Beaumont Ozen          (2-4)         (1-2)                  100     168

    L.C.-Mauriceville         (2-4)         (0-3)                  110     155

By the looks of it, everybody should be rooting for PNG because that would give Vidor two losses in district ;D

Or against you and the Jags to get 1 game closer. ;)
  5. Like the old cliche' goes, "You need an offense to score points, but a defense to win championships".  Well what do you know the PN-G Indians have both.  Vidor has an outstanding team this year much credit is do to them.   After reading many post in this thread I have come to the conclusion that Vidor must have a large offensive line ;D.  It will be a challenge for them to have to block our 3-4 defensive schemes all night and yes we rotate players the entire game too.  Plus to make things even more complicated for Vidor we are big and quick to boot.  Halftime score 14-7 PN-G.  Final score 28-7 PN-G.  Defense wins CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!

Go ahead and line up in your standard 3-4 and it will be 28-7 alright but with Vidor winning. Your coaches are smarter than that.

Review my quote once more, I beleive I said Schemes.  Yes our coaches are smart, look at the results from our previous games running a 3-4 defense.  It must work, don't you think ;).

We will see.Png is getting into the meat of their schedule.Vidor,L-train,and the Jags.

  7. No score predictions here. I WILL say that any team (i.e. Texas City, Livingston, etc. ) that expects to come in and run 99.9 % of the time against the Indians could be in BIG trouble. Don't know what it's going to take for people to realize what we already know...Maybe another thumping this week will do it... By the way, if your shooting for Mathews to tuck in his shirt, let's shoot for getting him to turn his hat around too !!! ;D

Its not that we cant throw it. We just have not had to very often. The few times Dozhier has thrown it he has been pretty successful.
  8. it really sounds like to me the pirate fans on this thread are starting to get a little nervous now after all the trash they have been talking about PN-G ;)

The only trash being talked on this thread is some of the predictions by the png faithful. I think I saw one for us to get beat by over 30.Glad you all are under estimating us.
  9. Great game both teams. The first and third innings were the keys. TC could not get out of the inning with 2 outs and only 2 runs for Vidor. The third inning is anybodys guess. I could not understand why TC moved all their players around to differnt positions. As soon as the Vidor coaches realized this they started hitting ground balls to kids that were not familiar with those positions.

  10. I agree with most of the post...But dang man....quit complaining. People hate to play yall. The directors tournament was the same way. I would be more concerned about cleaning up your leagues image than I would be about being "STATE BOUND"!!!!!

Congrats to Vidor on a great win!!!  Tonight was the better teams night.  Hopefully we will have a chance to redeem ourselves on Friday night.

As far as the windows being painted.  That is my car that says state bound and has my son's number (#36) on it.  I am proud of him and his team and want him to shoot for the the championship and move on to Irving.  Each and every team in every sport in high school does the same thing.  I have said from day 1 that Vidor was the team to beat and they are.....but does it hurt to strive for the state tournament.  "Bound" means that you want or intend to get there!!!!  You want to be positive and encourage them to win and move on.

As far as the classless fans and hollering at the umpires goes it went on both sides tonight.  The game was fairly called but you always feel that you get robbed when you are on the bad end of the call.

  11. Which Vidor teams do you think are the ones that will do well? Any info on the players would also help!

I am from Vidor and the Shetland division this year has 9 teams.  Only 7 could enter because two teams had too many kids that would not play on Sunday (at least that is what I heard).

I don't know who the team to beat is.  There are 5 teams who have a solid shot at winning the championship.  We play a 16 game schedule and right now we have 5 teams within 2.5 games of the lead (and the team that is 2.5 back has more games left and can catch up with two extra wins), so basically 5 teams within 2 games.

We are playing in Groves (which gives away what team we are because there is only one Vidor team in Groves).  However, we are on different sides of the bracket so we will not play each other in Groves.  I think it is amazing that there are 11 Orange teams in the tournament.  I would love to hear how any of the teams are looking and who the teams to beat are from the different areas.  I also don't mind sharing a little info on the Vidor teams.
