1. Have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw last night. There's much improvement, but still a ways to go. The offsides penalties were RIDICULOUS. Too many drops from the wr's, and a REALLY bad play call to run the same play from the shadow of your own goal line (a jet sweep) after showing your hand right before on a play called dead by penalty. Some tackling issues and penalties too. BUT.....I saw a team that would not quit and did not complain. They fought hard all the way to the end. That's an improvement all in itself. #5 is a true athlete. The QB is the truth too. The o-line is pretty good. Need more stars on offense. Defense.....TACKLE DRILLS PLEASE!! I'm pulling for these kids and their coaches. I think they will surprise some folks this season!!
 2. Soooo.......I haven't posted in a while..lol. But this topic sparks my interest TREMENDOUSLY. I work with people from all over east and s.e. tx. Many of which played for some of these powerhouses. I just had this conversation with a guy who played rb for Westfield back in the mid to late 2000's when they were a dominant team in Houston before Dekaney opened. I asked this VERY SAME question. He said it was their ATTITUDE. They vowed to not lose at home and to not lose to any Houston schools. He also said that that attitude starts on the middle school level and that the hs coaches frequently visited and passed down the playbook to them BEFORE they got to hs. They were also very committed to lifting weights throughout the offseason. I asked about supplements. He said they didn't take any. I do believe most of the powerhouse teams that can afford it have nutritional coaches on staff and a budget for supplies to give their kids an edge physically. Bigger, faster, and stronger still works. Couple that with a coaching staff that knows what it takes and oh boy.... My assessment: Their kids are bigger, tougher, meaner, more experienced, more determined, more committed, and therefore more confident than ours...... hands down. It's one thing to beat up on undermanned, undersized, and outnumbered ozen and central for all of these years and feel good and satisfied about it. It's a whole 'nother thing to take on the state's best and see where you really stand. It humbles you. I do believe that wb is on the right track though, but are still quite a ways behind as far as everything it takes to be on that level. Hopefully the experience from last year and this year propels them closer. IMHO...😉
 3. 1st half went just as I expected. It's the 3rd qtr that I'm most concerned about. Elkins has been pretty explosive lately in the 3rd. BUT this ain't Yates they're playing and I think they've realized that real quick so far. We'll be just fine....
 4. Ozen vs Elkins, Rider vs Dunbar, West Mesquite vs Lancaster, and Vela vs Nixon. Who's going to the "Big Dance" in the S.A.??
 5. Ozen by 8 and another chorus of "Ooooooo-zeeennn......Ooooooo-zeeennn" late in the fourth. Oh and shout out to the "Blue Wave" for keeping it LIVE!!!!
 6. Ozen by AT LEAST 2 scores....I think we're going to find out if either team will have legit qb play this year.... particularly wb because hervey can't do it all.
 7. So what's the capacity of Turner stadium?? Cause I gotta feeling everybody and their grandma's gonna be there... ;D
 8.
Prayers definitely go out for the victim and her family, but I can believe that you titled your post prayers for the player.
Sorry, it was a hurried post. All the prayers in the world can't help him now. But definitely keep both families and the organization in prayer. That is all....
 9.

his team acts like LaMarque, no respect and no discipline.
Dude is FROM LaMarque! Eric Wells, Head Coach Eric Wells is a native of La Marque and is married to wife,....     Wells coached at La Marque for six years .... That speaks VOLUMES........Ijs ::) Go figure!
10. They haven't released his name yet but apparently he killed his girlfriend in a Kansas City neighborhood and then drove to Arrowhead stadium and shot himself in his car in the parking lot. Sad times man....very sad. Prayers for the families, organization, and the friends and fans of both.
 11. Congrats Dogs!! From an Ozen Panther!! Keep representing well guys. See ya next week!!! ;D
 12.

Dawson downed the ball on 4th down, but had men in motion so it was a penalty.  They got a redo and kicked the FG.  They snapped it with 0 on the clock but it still counts Nederland    16 Dawson        16    Headed to OT
what am I missing...couldn't NED have refused the penalty and had the ball with 3 secs left??
I think the penalty may have negated the play all together hence the game clock rolling and the chance for a fg attempt.
 13.
I knew i should have went. Wow
Thinking the SAME THING!!!!
 14. Yea, I think it'll be a great game either way. I just had some personal reasons I would have liked to have seen them whip lamarque next week.
