Very nice run 11-0-1

Actually it was 12-0-1. Went 10-0 in regular season, then 2-0-1 in post-season. One regular season game is being left out, I'd have to get my scrapbook out of mothballs to see which one.

What about visitors tickets. I have mine, but I heard Vidor was out of the 500 they were sent. ARe the PNG fans allowed to sit on the visitors side? Should there be alot of tickets available for the Vidor fans at the gate?If you haven't bought your tickets yet you better get busy. My son went yesterday to get his and they are getting low !!! Don't know if sold out but they told him the tickets are getting pretty low as of yesterday.

Flag Etiquette
STANDARDS of RESPECT
The Flag Code, which formalizes and unifies the traditional ways in which we give respect to the flag, also contains specific instructions on how the flag is not to be used. They are:
The flag should never be dipped to any person or thing. It is flown upside down only as a distress signal.
The flag should not be used as a drapery, or for covering a speakers desk, draping a platform, or for any decoration in general. Bunting of blue, white and red stripes is available for these purposes. The blue stripe of the bunting should be on the top.
The flag should never be used for any advertising purpose. It should not be embroidered, printed or otherwise impressed on such articles as cushions, handkerchiefs, napkins, boxes, or anything intended to be discarded after temporary use. Advertising signs should not be attached to the staff or halyard
The flag should not be used as part of a costume or athletic uniform, except that a flag patch may be used on the uniform of military personnel, fireman, policeman and members of patriotic organizations.
The flag should never have placed on it, or attached to it, any mark, insignia, letter, word, number, figure, or drawing of any kind.
The flag should never be used as a receptacle for receiving, holding, carrying, or delivering anything.
When the flag is lowered, no part of it should touch the ground or any other object; it should be received by waiting hands and arms. To store the flag it should be folded neatly and ceremoniously.
The flag should be cleaned and mended when necessary.
When a flag is so worn it is no longer fit to serve as a symbol of our country, it should be destroyed by burning in a dignified manner.
Note: Most American Legion Posts regularly conduct a dignified flag burning ceremony, often on Flag Day, June 14th. Many Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, and Girl Scout Troops retire flags regularly as well. Contact your local American Legion Hall or Scout Troop to inquire about the availability of this service.
Displaying the Flag Outdoors
When the flag is displayed from a staff projecting from a window, balcony, or a building, the union should be at the peak of the staff unless the flag is at half staff.
When it is displayed from the same flagpole with another flag - of a state, community, society or Scout unit - the flag of the United States must always be at the top except that the church pennant may be flown above the flag during church services for Navy personnel when conducted by a Naval chaplain on a ship at sea.
When the flag is displayed over a street, it should be hung vertically, with the union to the north or east. If the flag is suspended over a sidewalk, the flag's union should be farthest from the building.
When flown with flags of states, communities, or societies on separate flag poles which are of the same height and in a straight line, the flag of the United States is always placed in the position of honor - to its own right.
..The other flags may be smaller but none may be larger.
..No other flag ever should be placed above it.
..The flag of the United States is always the first flag raised and the last to be lowered.
When flown with the national banner of other countries, each flag must be displayed from a separate pole of the same height. Each flag should be the same size. They should be raised and lowered simultaneously. The flag of one nation may not be displayed above that of another nation.
Raising and Lowering the Flag
The flag should be raised briskly and lowered slowly and ceremoniously. Ordinarily it should be displayed only between sunrise and sunset. It should be illuminated if displayed at night.
The flag of the United States of America is saluted as it is hoisted and lowered. The salute is held until the flag is unsnapped from the halyard or through the last note of music, whichever is the longest.
Displaying the Flag Indoors
When on display, the flag is accorded the place of honor, always positioned to its own right. Place it to the right of the speaker or staging area or sanctuary. Other flags should be to the left.
The flag of the United States of America should be at the center and at the highest point of the group when a number of flags of states, localities, or societies are grouped for display.
When one flag is used with the flag of the United States of America and the staffs are crossed, the flag of the United States is placed on its own right with its staff in front of the other flag.
When displaying the flag against a wall, vertically or horizontally, the flag's union (stars) should be at the top, to the flag's own right, and to the observer's left.
Parading and Saluting the Flag
When carried in a procession, the flag should be to the right of the marchers. When other flags are carried, the flag of the United States may be centered in front of the others or carried to their right. When the flag passes in a procession, or when it is hoisted or lowered, all should face the flag and salute.
The Salute
To salute, all persons come to attention. Those in uniform give the appropriate formal salute. Citizens not in uniform salute by placing their right hand over the heart and men with head cover should remove it and hold it to left shoulder, hand over the heart. Members of organizations in formation salute upon command of the person in charge.
The Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem
The pledge of allegiance should be rendered by standing at attention, facing the flag, and saluting.
When the national anthem is played or sung, citizens should stand at attention and salute at the first note and hold the salute through the last note. The salute is directed to the flag, if displayed, otherwise to the music.
The Flag in Mourning
To place the flag at half staff, hoist it to the peak for an instant and lower it to a position half way between the top and bottom of the staff. The flag is to be raised again to the peak for a moment before it is lowered. On Memorial Day the flag is displayed at half staff until noon and at full staff from noon to sunset.
The flag is to be flown at half staff in mourning for designated, principal government leaders and upon presidential or gubernatorial order.
When used to cover a casket, the flag should be placed with the union at the head and over the left shoulder. It should not be lowered into the grave.

Just wanted you to know how important it is to play 16U as a freshman and sophmore.
That is when the recruiters are most active and the larger schools are making their offers.
I don't want to get into a big/long conversation about all of this. I was just trying to help.
Why would a recuiter look at any 16 u team ?
most 14u teams are as good if not better.
If she's playing 18u don't hold her back
-
smitty i'm srry that u don't feel that vidor will make playoffs but u will be upset this year when they do.they beat lumberton and should have beat central with a missed 20 yard feild goal and a blocked extra point to tie the game.
and the difference between this team and the 2005 team is it actually means something to them and they have their hearts in the game. yes mathuews was the coach then but the kids now have baught into what he is saying to them and with a group of kids than has been pretty dominat together all through school wich what i mean by that is jr high and freshman year they will be good this year cause they have it in their minds that they can make playoffs and go deep. u can say that jr high and freshman ball is different from varsity ball but when u get a group that has played togeher that long and believe in each other and care about their team mates they will go far.
yea they didn't do as good as they should have last seasoin when they lost to ozen wich shouldn't have happend they had 6 turnovers and still only lost by 1 td. they were mostly jr's but coach mat. has done some work with these boys and they have their mind set to make their coach proud and prove all the ppl hatting on them wrong.
Look, it's not about hating on them. Usually hated teams are teams that have a traditon of winning. Vidor has nothing to hate on in my eyes right now. It's all about reality. Your team could not make the playoffs last year in a somewhat weakened district with 4 playoff spots. You guys are saying you are proud of your effort last year. That may well be, but that pride will not get you into the playoffs. You have a lot of returning starters from a team that, when you think about it, accomplished nothing. What should lead us to believe that you will make the playoffs this year. I for one, having seen PNG's changes, know that the district is going to be tougher this year. Yes, you may be tougher, bringing back so many, but IMO, with the rise of the district, you will still be the odd man out. Sorry. Again, no hate intended, just reality.
Geez, Laying, have you read the blogs during the season the last 2 years or is L-Town an exception to the rule? We've caught heck for winning and yet most people don't figure we had a "tradition of winning". Also, this "weakened district" attitude, is that because PNG lost out last year or would you happen to have an alternate ego by the name of FriendswoodFan? You sound just like him. I don't see the other teams fans saying we had a weakened district so I was just wondering.
Sorry for the late response, been out a while. Look, I may be a little biased, so I can see where my comments may frustrate some. But, in the end, I have seen PNG play....they will be good....district championship good. Whether they win it or not remains to be seen. I havent seen anyone (ie Vidor) play yet, so they could prove me wrong. But, they will have to step their game up a lot.....which they do not have a history of. If you ask me, we had a better team than Vidor or Lumberton last year, but could not live up to expectations....coaching etc.
And yes, when the 2nd to last place team (PNG), makes the co district champions.....and the Vidor team that "did so well", struggle....IMO, you have a weak district. In a good district, the champions eat the bottom tier teams for dinner that night. That did not happen in 20-4a. And no, I dont believe it was because it was a strong district.
so a team struggles in district and finshed tied for 5th in d1 state playoffs (lost 20-19) out of 64 teams (32 districts).
so that teams district is weak?
someone check my math
-
lumberton by 3pt.
if you hold on to the ball... centrals D will jar it loose.
-
Vidor out played us in the second half and deserved to beat us. But for those of you who were there regardless of what team you were goin for had to have thought the refs were ridiculous.
stopping the clock so lumberton could kick fg (ridiculous)

I, as one of LCM supporters, would like to say how proud of LCM boys that have stuck it out because they love the game of football. Most of the boys, especially mine, has been told by Coach one thing in practice but when it comes to the game Coach does another. I can see the sparkle (love for football) in my sons eyes gone. I think its really sad, these boys have to deal with this coach day end day out. Now also let me say there are some good Assistant Coach's but Moody micro-manages and unfortantily they aren't allowed to do their job. I praying daily this Coach will soon be gone. Boys hang in there, it will be a long season, there's always hope for next year.
GO LCM BOYS!!!!
saying one thing and doing another is a lack of self confidence.
a coach with confidence can make a deference.
a coach with no confidence will fell.
a coach that has support will have confidence.
parents and fans should support the coach if not the players (future parents and fans) will be seating wear you are doing the same thing.
pray for him not against him
what do you have to lose a game

vidor lost last year to png at home to a last second flag

For helping us remove mud and carpet from my parents house in Bridge City.
Pirate fans should wear red this week for BC.(I'm going to)
GOD BLESS BRIDGE CITY

Vidor is very close to turning the corner but the loss of Franklin to graduation is big. If the Pirates have found a replacement the game will be close with Jags winning by 4 points--if not Jags win big.
The best QB was playing LB last year.
( Franklin at WR wouldn't be stop)

This is the way it has always been, Because Nederland may be having an off year the district is weak, bad play calling etc., etc. Heck after Dayton walk through WOS and then tied Vidor, You thought it was the end of the ERA at WOS. Then all of sudden they whip Nederland and they are back on top of the world. I am anxious to see what the outcome will be between Nederland and Kelly, heck Nederland has already won the game over on the Nederland vs Kelly thread. Will be more anxious to see the excuses pile in, after Kelly beats them are plays a good game. Of course this is my opinion, I expect to be trashed for it. Any way GOOD LUCK to all area teams. ;D ;D ;D
