I do think the most recent year Orangefield was in 4A they finished 2nd to state semi-finalist Silsbee in the district according to maxpreps. They also had a lot of success against the local 4A district this year according to maxpreps.

Great job description, where is this posted? Sure seems like the Bobcats may just reload. Not too many schools in Southeast TX average 80 ppg.

The city of Buna may riot if Whitmire goes to one of their rivals and beats them for the next 4 or 5 years straight.

Didn’t Buna go from 1st to 4th? Im not sure that would be the best move for the Cats.

He was a great player, but he is young. I would imagine interviews start soon, I would love to see an applicant list. Is the Scales thing real? I was told he ran a AAU program at one time.

Wonder if the Vidor coach will bite? He knows the kids and seemed to be a good assistant with McDonald.

Something is going to have to change or you’re going to lose coaches. What is the point in grinding during the season to know you have to play recruit shops once you make playoffs? It’s extremely unfair for players and coaches.

I guess the Bears need to hit the portal a little harder! Maybe next year they can grab enough transfers to beat the pirates.

I’ve seen Coach Mitchell get quite animated on the sideline Im assuming he is just trying to get his kids to play hard.

I think so, but it resulted in a 3 team tournament scenario with Buna skunking EC & Kountze in back to back days.

This is a very tough district for a new coach to jump into, hopefully the Panthers can weather the storm and begin building the program back up.

He did a great job for the Bulldogs, good luck to Coach Smith and the Bruins.

I feel like Anahuac, Kountze, EC, Buna, & Orangefield could all end up in any order 1-5. What do those teams have coming back?

Why wouldn't it be? Didn't they win the district last year, and bring back a top 2 player in the district?
