If you want an outsiders opinion on the big 3, heres mine. Bernard is by far the best of the 3, by far the best shooter of the 3. He is a very good player. Turner is quick, very good defensively, can drive to the basket very well and hits some 3's. Burrell is the lowest of the 3. The 3 pointer you spoke of that he hit was because he was wide open and no one was covering him. I think thats the first field goal i've seen him hit in a game that wasnt a layup or dunk. Hayes guarded Burrell most of the night and played off of him and Burrell wouldnt shoot it. I dont think Burrell had more than 8 pts tonight and i dont remember much that he did in the game, so i agree that he was a bit of a nonfactor. I do remember Bernard coming through in clutch moments and Turner getting crucial steals for HJ. I think Burrell is a good slasher, and a pretty good defender, but below average on shooting and decision making with the ball. I've actually been impressed with Ricossa in some of the games i've seen him play. I think Bernard and Turner are deserving of the praise they get on this board, but i think your big 3 might actually be Bernard, Turner, and Ricossa.
I find it interesting that your bringing ricossa into the mix.....good news for HJ fans turner and ricossa will be back next year

i dont beleive thisss.. if ya'll wanna think the hecklers are "watered down" and all this other bs then come to either of the two games next week and see the best fans in this state.... oh yea.. you can watch the basketball game if you wantt too... haha
Y is it just those two games.....u should say: come to any HJ game and we will prove u wrong!! We fans need to see some improvement from the hecklers....lets see it the rest of the season(every game)!!!!

As a Hawk fan and alum I completely agree. This years version is very good but it seems that they are a little watered down!!!!!
Maybe they are saving everything for the Silsbee game.
They were decent at the BC game last week though!!!!!
Exactly.....as a player the last 2 years and now a fan i can definately see that the hecklers this year are far less committed than the hecklers of the past 2 years.

i agree without a doubtt.. if you want to see some of the loudest high school basketball games ever come to sour lake or silsbee during the silsbee vs. HJ game... both sides bring in the fans and fill the gyms to a max capacity, and the players on the court give us a great gamee.. except when its at sour lake and we beat silsbee by about 20... haha
I am really disappointed with the HJ "hecklers" this year. The past two years i have seen the hecklers at every home and every away game that HJ had. This year i have gone to some away games and i have not seen any hecklers there. Yea they show up at the home games but wheres ur support for the away games. The hecklers this year are no match for the hecklers of the past 2 years.

It would be nice to see an HJ player to get the defensive MVP again this year. ...they look at how many steals, blocked shots and defensive rebounds a player has......and Jacoby does all that very well....

Who cares if HJ has gotten better, do you think WOS has just sat around and done nothing? This game wont be close! WOS will score 66 again if not more...
actually WOS isnt improving as much as HJ is but that is just because WOS has always been a power house while HJ has been pretty bad in recent years soo noo WOS will not score 66 on this HJ defense especially since WOS's line isnt as good as in years past and i guarentee it will be alot closer game then most people think HJ is not the cupcake team they have been in the past they are ready to play and confident soo i say WOS 28 HJ 14

Sweeny has two good Pitchers--Riley Hornbeck a Senior and Arron Hollins a Junior: they are quite seasoned and good. Who will H-J counter with as a second and third Pitcher?
It could be determined by the strength match up of the third Pitcher for each team.
At one time Logan Ferguson, Josh Rogers, and Dylan Lundy were Pitching for H-J---would #3 in-line be one of these or someone else?
HJ has Taylor Monse and Josh Rodgers as there aces and then they have Jacob Ricossa and Dylan Lundy as there 3 and 4 pitchers. All pitchers but Rodgers pitched against Coldspring.

If Silsbee or Jasper wins out and H-J loses to BC, then there will be a tie for 2nd place. How will the second and third seeds be decided?
Heres how I see it going...
HJ- win (OF) and lose (BC) they will be 10-4 (But i think HJ beats BC and avoids confusion)
Jasper- win out and be 10-4
Silsbee- split Jasper and OF makes them 9-5
So HJ and Jasper will have a playoff for 2nd or maybe even a coin toss is what i heard today.

This should be the best game of the year. Jasper's pitchers are rested, and you know they can hit... It looks like HJ will throw that lefty Monsey that might be going to Lamar, he is not as fast as Rogers but can spot up well and HJ can also swing the bat, their 8 and 9 hole are droppin bombs. Don't be surprised if you see 5 to 6 Yacks in the paper tomorrow............One thing is for sure you will hear Humplik yell BACK!!!!!!!!!!
you have no clue of what you are talking about sir......not only have the 8 and 9 hole hitters not dropped bombs....rodgers doesnt throw as hard as monse at all...try watchin a game before you speak of what you dont know!!!!!
Excuse me sir, but i know for a fact the 8 hole has 3 homeruns this year(2 in district) try getting your facts straight! but the 9 hole does not have a homerun and between rodgers and monse, im not sure who throws harder

In Your opinion what is the worst way to lose a game?
I my opinion it is by a squeeze. Several things have to go right in this situation. First the opposing coach has to have the guts to put the game on the line and have trust that the kid will get the bunt down. Next the kid has to have no doubt that he can do it. And finally he has to get it down. If everything goes right it is very demoralizing to the defense that just lost due to the squeeze. This came to mind after Silsbee recently won their game over HJ on a squeeze.
SILSBEE DID NOT WIN ON A SQUEEZE!!!!!!! the kid bunted, the third baseman got it and thought he looked the runner back but as he threw it to first, the runner on third ran home and scored.

I don't see how a pitcher could let him get the ball down on a suicide, not to mention it was the go-ahead run.
First of all it wasnt a suicide squeeze bunt, it was just a bunt that the third baseman fielded and saw the the runner halfway down the line, and thought he looked him back and threw it to first
