You might be surprised by hd. Dont count them out just yet.i look for hd to be fired up and they will be looking at this as a statement game after the loss to kountze. I got hd winning 16 - 14. Daisetta is not the pushover that some of you think they are.

I'm just glad Evadale made it through the 2A part of their schedule with no injuries. They lost three staring linemen to knee injuries last year before disrtict started.  That's tough in any class.  Will be good to see how it plays out with HD and WH.  Should be intresting.

It is what it is...we scrimmaged Buna, played Dville and Kountze.  The 2a district is tough.  I wish them all luck cause they are going to beat the crap out of each other.  And yes, Kountze is for real. Maybe as good as I've ever seen them.  The 2a crown will be rough and tumble.  Hold your heads up Rebels, 1a's from here on out.

Why don't we wait until Friday night and just see what happens on the field, actions speak louder than words.

You bet!  The numbers that begin one class to the next has become too vast.  It seems schools are "dropping" in classification every two years.  Example, if Buna goes back to 3A next year, and that depends on uncle Chuck, can you see them competing with Silsbee and Jasper?  What if Deweyville drops from 2A to 1A.  High Island with less than 100 kids in high school would be humiliated.  Something needs to be done on the state level.  

Buna looks tough...should win district.

I don't mean to get into ya'lls business, but we played both teams. Scrimmaged Buna and played Dville last week.  From what I saw, Buna is more physical.  I believe it will be a good game but I would be surprised if Dville stays with Buna.

There was a post somewhere on this site about a change in the way UIL puts districts together,and it would fix this problem by putting smaller schools in the same class in the same district. The down side is much longer travel for away games.

Good point. Personaly, I would travel to see our kids able to compete on a more level playing field...

Legacy has Basketball heading in the right direction, football may be lagging behind a little. Not really a HD fan but, HD by much, very much...

Something to be proud of.  Great addition to a great program...

Funny how Buna not only dropped to 2A when they are very, very, VERY close to being 3A, but they also got moved into a district that did NOT have Newton ...

It seems like UIL is stretching the numbers in A, AA, & AAA making it rough for teams at the bottom of their class.  Not familiar with 4 & 5A situation.

Point taken...I don't have the answer to this numbers thing and I'm sure the state is guessing as well.

HI does have a small enrollment. Hull and West Hardin came down from 2A recently and Evadale only has 135 total kids in high school. Only a few years ago, Sabine Pass could not field a varsity district team.  The state should make a super 5A or even a 6A instead of moving everyone down a class.  Dville is in the class where they belong, not 1A. They should beat a team with 135 kids (Evadale) or a team with less than 100 kids (High Island).
