  1. you cant compare the talent of teams based solely on their performance.  The talent of the teams they play plays a huge role in determining their success.  Fletchers senior year they were the smallest school in the best 4a baseball district in texas that year.  PNG and LCM played in the regional finals and Nederland was better than both of them with Sullivan pitching.

  2. WOS- Patterson

    Nederland_ Sullivan

    LCM_ Hale

PNG- dont know alot to choose from

BC- Angelle, BC didnt even make the playoffs fletchers senior year he got beat in a one game playoff to see who goes to the playoffs by LCM.

Lumberton- dont know. No one has really been dominant.  Faced Buckholtz alot in hs and he was good but not dominant.  They got 3rd in district his senior year and the district was not that strong.  Same story with the other two they were good but not dominant.

  3. mr umpire how tolerant of players arguing with the umpire during the game are you supposed to be?

I have been to two games this year form a certain school and have seen the same player argue with the umpir on the field once after a strike 3 call and once after being called out when stealing.  It wasnt just saying a word and walking off it was stand there for a little while and yell at the umpire.  The first time the coach walked toward the plate and I thought he was about to kill the kid but instead didnt say anything to the kid and started getting on the umpire.  The next game the coach just walked to the dugout and left the kid there arguing.

What does he have to do before somebody tosses him?

  4. If realignment doesnt change the districts I dont see anything changing for awhile

Jasper has been a dominating team for years they were a really good 4 a team before they dropped down and have continued that dominance.

BC is the same story a good 4a program that dropped to 3a and is dominating and will continue to do so.

throw thoose two teams out and I think they are pretty even

this year kingwood park is the wildcard because I know nothing about them

but unless jasper or bc change distrticts I dont see anything changing for awhile

  5. The bottom line is hard work pays off.  I have seen kids and teamates bust their hump alone or with another player and improve dramatically and I have seen kids bust their hump with a private instructor and improve dramatically.  The bottom line is the kid who works the hardest if the talent is equal will win.  Organizations such as the sundevils and big timers make kids better because the kid is there working and giving his all ( his parents have invested to much for him not to)  there is not the option of not doing the work if mom and dad are spending their hard earned money on the lessons or team.  However if the kid can have that same motivation working with a higschool teammate the results will be the same as if he was in one of these organizations and the result is improvment.

I like the organizations because they can get some kids to work that on their own are not dedicated enough
  6. im not sso sure that the number of college players they produce should be how you choose a hitting coach.

Mr. Magoo could be the hitting coach for guys like Dishon from BC and he still would have been a big time d1 prospect.  I think the best hitting coches can take a kid who is a borderline starter for his Highschool club and make him an all district pick.

Now as to who is the best I have no clue I had experience with Fackler and Moore and liked both they were very similar for me.  There was also a guy known as the hitting master who i saw a couple of times I dont remeber his name but I liked moore and fackler both better than him.

  7. The random drug testing that almost All schools have in place now does not include steroids.  I was told it was to expensive for the schools to test for steroids and that is why the UIL has started to test.  But it is expensive for them also so I doubt a single kid in the Golden triangle gets tested this year by the UIL they dont want to spend the money they just want to say they have a test in place so they dont look like they are just blowing off the issue.

  8. I know it is unrealistic but I would like college and highschool athletes to be tested for steroids on a scale that might actually influence something.  The UIL has started testing this year but it includes such a small % that I doubt any of our area players ever get tested.

The college I played at had testing by the NCAA but in the 4 years I was there not a single one of our players ever got tested and at the time atleast half were taking steroids.

  9. :D :D :D Man!!! U aint never lied!!!

U cant compare teams that way if so we could say well orangefield beat HF who beat silsbee so orangefield should beat silsbee but silsbee demolished them

or we could say well orangefield played kirbyville close and got stomped by jasper, wos, and silsbee aso kville must be the 4th best team in the district.

teams just match up with each other differently

  10. no one has a chance but I would pick cleveland over k ville if I had to pick one.

The Jasper qb will run all over splendora and wos is wos

Kville has had the closest games against the worst teams like BC, OF, HF, and HJ  I think they are a better team than jasper but play down to their competition.

  11. LCM/PNG

    Jasper/BC

it has to be these 4 teams untill someone else can dethrone them.  No one else has, so what makes you think this year will be different.  Im not from any of those schools thats just the way I see it.  It is like picking some one to win 21-3a in football that isnt WOS.

Also dont put much stock in fall ball games. When I played in fall ball games in highschool which was about 4 years ago we never had our real team together always people out for football or select ball.

  12. In my experience there is alot more to throwing hard than having the body or the look of a guy who can throw you can have kids with all the physical tools and get all the help in the world but never figure out how to put it all together.  It is hard to explain some kids just have the gift and some dont.

I have seen guys that are short, weak, and have bad mechanics throw 90 and guys who are 6'3 muscualr, flexible with great mechanics struglle to throw 83.

Im not saying that hard work cant pay off because I have seen that also. I am just saying that there is another deminsion to this equation that I cant figure out and if anyone can please let me know.

  13. Are we talking track speed or game speed?

I dont know alot about this ditrict but do know that there is a huge difference in track speed and baseball speed.  My example for this is a guy who played at LCM several years ago Shon LAndry.  On the field he was fast and stole lots of bases and beat out alot of infield hits. But put him on a track and run a 40 and its a

    4.8  not exactly a burner.
