  1. Everyone knows that the game will be tuff.  Both teams need this win.  It very well may come down to who wants and needs the win the most.  Pirates will have to circle their wagons (ships ;D) to fend off the attack.  Indians better not take the Pirates lightly, They're BIG,  BAD, and, well it's true, some of them are kinda Ugly.  But boy, can they play ball .  This will be a battle.  Golden Triangle, AAARRRRREEEEEE YOUUUUUUU REA'DYYYYY TO RRRRRRRRRRRRRRUMBLE.

  2. Come on, Lumberton fan.  why are you still heckling the Vidor fans?  You need to be in the Central/Lumberton thread heckling me!  ;D ;D

I am there ...... but I keep reading comments from PIRATE 68 ..... you know the one that said GO to your own thread! LOL! Real CLASS ........ he needs to stay off the JUICE and he could remember!

It never fails.  I remember a few years ago when Lumberton thought they were playoff bound.  Vidor beat them the last game of the year and knocked them out.  I remember the cheerleader coach trying to jump over a fence to attack one of our fans.  Even the chief of the local law enforcement was shoving an officer from Vidor who was trying to get the girl off the Vidor fan.  Sore looseres.  You betcha.  I do have many good and close friends in Lumberton and I would not put them all in that pile.

That goes both ways I remember playing Vidor in the 70's ....... let's put it this way ...... we had to get our tire'sssssssssss changed out before we could leave on our bus!!!!!  Get A Grip!

Come on Nazerath, sounds like you are one of those folks that carry a chip on your shoulder.  I've read your post and all I hear is hate for Vidor.  Every team that comes here win or loose, always get a police escort out of town. This is done to help your band and team to get past all the traffic.  You know, you can go back far enough in any town and find problems.  So get on with you life and judge us on what happens now and not 30 or 40 years ago.  God Loves ya man.
  3. We are forming out of Beaumont. I have a few girls from Port Neches interested and a Nederland Girl. I also know a few other girls that I have not contacted that do not have teams.

We wish you luck.  I know you are a good coach and care for your kids.  Is your dad helping you.  I know you will do good.  Any girl would be lucky to play for you.
  4. While it is always kinda sad to see a season end, this one was no exception.  We really had a great summer and fall, and everyone on the Crush (Jaynes) team will really be missed.  We had some very special ladies and you are all going to be missed.  I felt very privileged to help coach you.  Or, maybe, it was you coaching me. You Crush girls are very special and big things are coming your way. Keep up the good work.  Usually, after a fall season we get to see each other at the High School games.  But since Anna won't be playing HS ball this spring we really going to miss all of you ladies.

    Coach Weldon

  5. Crush (Jaynes) player, Anna Peveto has verbally committed to Angelina College in Lufkin.  Anna, who has played with Crush (Jaynes) for the past 5 years will be graduating from Vidor High School in early January '09 and play for Angelina this comming spring.  A special "thanks" to Marty Jaynes for his hard work with this team and getting all his players show cased at the exposure tournaments.  We are expecting more committments coming in the next few weeks.  All the girls have worked so hard this past summer and fall.

  6. Just wondering if everyone is ok.  We just got or power back.  I've been working from 6a to 2a every day and haven't heard much from our softball family.  I do know that one of or players lost her home in BC.  I'm sure others did too.  Just looking for any info. We faired good in Vidor.  Just alot of people suffering like all over.   If anyone is in need of anything please conctact me and I'll see what I can do.  781-5142 (my self phone is public so I don't mind it given out.)  God Bless you'all.

  7. From the perspective of a coach who had a team playing in it (Note: I will only speak for the 18U side, although I did hear some horror stories from the other age divisions):

    • No complaints about the umpires in my games.
    • The fields were horrible. I don't know who or if someone was going to maintain the fields, but it didn't happen.  Sand 3 inches deep, home plate protruding 3 inches above playing fields (only 1 that I saw, and that's 1 too many), no 200' fences, lights not working and no netting protecting the fans from foul balls
    • 75 minute Pool games which made the games end so late on Friday (Saturday AM). Should have been 60 minute pool games, which is what most teams are accustomed to playing, particularly in a Large weekend tournament.  Last pool game would have started around 8:30 Friday night instead of 12:30 Sat AM.
    • Our 1st pool opponent (New Mexico Crush) was a no show.  Another opponent was quickly reassigned to play us without delay. As TD, I think I would have called the New Mexico Crush and verify that were going to show before I prepared the schedules (I am assuming that they had not paid in advance).
    • TD was not prepared for teams not showing. You better have a game plan and tools ready for no shows.
    • What is an "Honor System" for gate fees? Never saw any signs directing you to where to pay or that it was on an "Honor System". That's about the stupidist thing I've ever heard of.
    • No thought, planning or checking of original brackets. I caught several instances where Losers from the Winners bracket were scheduled to play in the losers bracket before their game ever took place. I informed the TD of the error to save him some major grief later on and was chastised as a being a troublemaker.
    • One team was never placed in the bracket. They ended up having to begin their play in the losers bracket.
    • No tournament official updated the bracket. I updated it when I could.
    • MC Elite Sicotte ('nuff said)
    • By far the poorest/strangest tournament I have ever played in
    • East TX did not share whatever it was he was drinking with the praticipating coaches

I do agree to all above.  Crush (Jaynes) played 9 games (7 W/2L) and our girls had a great time.  We did not have a single problem with the Ump's other than occasional missed call.  Even DuMan makes mistakes.  The Ump's that called our games were very friendly and happy to be there.  The fields were as bad as in the NAFA Sectional last week.  I don't remember any field crews there either.  Field J, K, L are always the worst. The problem points to Beaumont Parks Department.  A visit by all local teams and media to the City Council should help fix this problem.  Last thing I want to add is that those who were not in attendance this weekend seem to be doing most of the negative talk.  Hey, not all of us are fortunite enough to go to a ASA Gold tournament.  We were happy to have someone put a tournament on local so our girls could go and play.  All this negative talk from those that did not go is like crapping on our girls that went.  Quite trying to ruin a good weekend for those that did go and had fun.
  8. This past weekend was a great weekend for softball in Ft Worth.  Not a great weekend for Crush Coaches.  First of all let me say, the OC-G played well and Shockers got their bid and congrats to both.  One of the highlites of the weekend was watch the homeplate umpire chunk CC.  He looked like a major league umpire throwing Bobby Cox out of a baseball game.  Then after the next pitch Jeff V. questioned his eye sight and he got tossed.  I think they jsut wanted a Lemon Chill they were selling at the concession stand.  It was classic!    Stircrazy and I got to finish coaching the game.

From what I heard in Beaumont the both 12U Crush-Collins coaches got chunked and News came about as close to getting thrown as you can get.

    Must have been the heat!

Must have been something in the ice we all got from the crush compound!

HEY, Crush (Jaynes) used the same ice and we all acted civil.  Had no trouble at all.
  9. While some were not happy about games and times being changed the TD seemed to be working hard trying to work things out.  Crush (Jaynes) did have some changes but all worked out well.  We got all our games in.  I understand that the TD does not have control over NO SHOWS.  That is beyond anyones control.  Umpires that we saw today were very consistant.  Thats all anyone can ask for.  I don't know about anyone else but we had a real good time today.  Our girls really played well.

  11. A friend has asked me to post. He is looking for a 18u pitcher if interested give him a call 832-275-0697.

The team will be in all the right places to be seen. Playing Gold qualifiers, EXPOSURE in Stars Over Texas, Plano and one of only a few Texas teams to be asked to play in the highly sought after Independence Day Tournament in Boulder Colorado during the summer.

any info on the team.  which team and where is it.  and who is the coach
  12. im a die hard png fan and im over it already, i just wish that the vidorians would at least admit that we had a horrible play in left field which would have sealed the deal and with out that it would have been 3-1 game over, same thing with nederland it wouldnt have been a game if it wasnt for 6 errors.....i know robicheaux personally and this is for you, great game, keep competing and playing hard and dont let your fans say hester won that game for yall cz you did

what is there to admit, except vidor won the game.  we all know that each team gets it share of breaks.  humans play the game that is officiated by humans.  just THINK, how many times did PNG get the good call over the years.  as long as there are ball games there will be good calls and bad calls that make or break games.  I am more concerned about the fan from PNG that cursed at one of our school board members, by the way who is a deacon in his church.
  13. While everyone is talking about the play at first that people think went vidors way it was close and could have been called either way. There was also a play that went PNGS way at first that no one is talking about and that run from png scored. It occured when a ground ball was hit to third and the first baseman was pulled off the bag but tagged the runner on the way bye he was clearly out but was called safe.Green argued this call if you remember but the call stood and the runner ended up scoring.Close calls in games usually have a way of working themselves out.

Congrats Pirates on a big win

I totally agree.  I too was at the ball game and along the fence at the first base line.  Yes I was on the PNG side. Both calls at first were very close.  But thats not what bothers me.  When PNG was winning several of their fans were makeing rude comments about Vidor and really rubbin it in to the Vidor fans.  When Vidor won however the same fans, one in particular, turns around and point directly at a schoolboard member (of all people) and yells, "you Vidor people are trash and you Su*#.  Your umpires here in Vidor also Su*#."  When I showed him my badge however he took off to the parking lot.  Why do the people across the Neches have to be so ugly to us poor ole' Vidorians.  I guess we know who the trashy person was that night.
  14. I'VE WATCHED SEVERAL YEARS OF TENNIS....  Have you seen the SOFTBALL forum and they way them people act......I wouldnt be so proud to say I play softball no offense.......Go read some of them and to say that the DRAMA doesnt happen at softball forum or softball games then you are blessed where we come from ha ha ha its hard to see whose adult or child. Who is playing kid are parent....yeah its scary..

I know what you mean, I went to my first tennis match the other day in Houston.  I saw most of the players stomping aroung and acting like spoilt brats.  It was really funny when they started talking to themselves. Yeah, I'll play softball anyday.  And by the way, it is not "them people" it is "those people".
