  1. Well the damage with the bat was Chris Bishop,  He hit a three run HR in the 3rd with Shipman and Weisbrod on base.  Bishop pitched a great game.  The defense made some great plays.  Washington at third, Weisbrod at SS and 2B and Ramoin at 2B.  There were a few errors but not anything that was deadly.  Colton has not been hitting the ball well yet but he did have an rbi single as they were trying to intentional walk him.  They are throwing him breaking stuff low and away and he's gone for some of them.  Shipman was 2 for 2 with 2BB and scored 3 runs. Ramoin was 2 for 4 with 2 runs, Weisbrod was 1 for 2, 1HP, 1IBB with 2 runs, Bishop was 1 for 3 but his hit was big.  Everbody help with the win.  They can do better with the bat.  Lets hope they continue playing as a team and somebody comes up big when they are needed.

  2. even more amazing..............your comparing pitching in babe ruth leagues with pitching in High School Baseball.........lol :D

and I'm not downing the league admin....I'm an alum!! and loved every minute of it!!!!

Keep improving Aaron...you'll get your time!!

Hey, I'm sure Aaron will keep trying to improve and he appreciates that last statement.  But you hurt my feelings when you laugh.  If you look at the rosters of all the guys who played this year as shown somewhere else besides this all-star list, there were a lot of really good high school players playing in this league, such as, Bunner, Harrington, Carnahan, Todd, Robichau, Jones, Fontnow, McDonough, Sims, Vidrine, Sampere, etc, you get the idea.  These were some of the best in their districts, so, I am still amazed at what McFarland has done.  Of course, it's not the same as high school ball, the adrenalin is not flowing and the crowds are small and the rivalry is not there but the skill and talent doesn't leave those kids back at the school.  So please, don't laugh.

  3. This is amazing!  Aaron McFarland got the Co-pitching award!!  That's not bad for a 1B/3B man.  Great for Him!!  Too bad the school coach chose not to use him!!  Congraduations to all and I hope you guys go a long way and have a lot of fun!   Play the ball-throw it , hit it, field it; hustle all the time; run out all batted balls, chase all batted balls until they hit the ground, let no ground ball get past you.  Out fielders, put a knee down to stop all ground balls.  Infielders, get a quick look at your target before you throw and adjust your feet to make good throws.

Play hard and be good sportsman.  Have no fear-have confidence!

  4. BCCC is both an old and a young institution. The College dates its origins to Baltimore Junior College, founded as part of the Baltimore City Public Schools in 1947 to provide post-high school education for returning World War II veterans. In 1967, the College was renamed Community College of Baltimore and restructured as a department of the City of Baltimore. In the 1980s City and State leaders recognized that shrinking City resources made it difficult for the City to operate a quality institution of higher education. On July 1, 1990, the Maryland General Assembly created a new institution, New Community College of Baltimore, funded by the State of Maryland. The College was granted permanent status in 1992 and renamed Baltimore City Community College.

    What sports does BCCC have?

    Men's Baseball, Women's Volleyball, Men's Basketball, and Women's Basketball.

  5. Log on to see the pictures.  Some pictures of the Sr game played last Sat night.  Aaron McFarland of Nederland had a really good game.  He went 4 for 5, 2-1b, 1-2b and a 3 run homer.  He also got to pitch an inning late in the game and he hadn't pitched in a district game for 3 years!  It's still amazing that he doesn't have a place to play in college!  unbelievable really.  The kid can play!

  6. Aaron McFarland of Nederland is definitely underrated.  He had a very good year as a Soph with the bat and was a great 1b man.  After shoulder surgery from an injury in the playoff game with Dayton his Soph year and extensive rehab, he was switched to 3rd base and was one of the leading hitters on the team.  This year he is splitting infield positions between 1st and 3rd and doing a great job at both positions.  He hasn't pitched in high school but was the outstanding pitcher in Babe Ruth when he was in the 15 and under league.  This year he hasn't been able to get the bat going.  He is one swing away from being back to where he was the last two years.  The kid can play the game!

  7. The question asked if they were equal:  If equal, give the guy who has stuck it out the starts!  He has only this chance.  The underclassman will be there next year.  There are coaches who always plays the underclassman, building for next year.  The seniors should play if and when equal.

  8. It's funny that I just noticed this subject today.  I had to go to the beach to fix a water problem at the house and on the way down there. traveling on HW73 about 3 miles before you get to Belle Oaks golf course, I noticed something redish, brown near the edge of the tree line and told my wife that I thought that was a hog.  I turned around and went back and sure enough, there was a sow and a bunch of little ones.  The grass was high so I didn't get much of a clear look at all of them.  I had my camera but they didn't show up very well.  The sow made a bee line for the brush and I hollered and several little ones scrambled for the trees.  Until I hollered I only saw one little pig, then a bunch took off.  They are definately down here in our area.
