well actually turf is cheaper over a long span of time which turf will last a long period of time if other schools would realize this than we will see a lot more setx schools getting turf

i follow high school track it can be very exciting, it really tells you a lot about which schools have the best athletes and athletic program

no not enough size as good as anybody on offense but even an average player with a little bit of size would make it extremely difficult for him to guard unless he hits the weight room and bulks up a little bit

i think to answer it you have to define athlete. no you don't have to be fast or able to jump but it takes alot of hand eye cordnation and good depth preception

ya but are all those people fans off football or band or cheerleading or drill team? football has so many different aspects of it basketball only has about 10 kids involeved in it football has about 200 so of course thier are going to be more fans at football games

maybe that is because lumberton has never been that good at basketball which prooves the point that if you ask the question which sport is king lumberton people would tell you that football is king but i bet if you go to kountze or HJ or even Ozen they would tell you that basketball is king the schools that it is tough to tell which sport is king or the schools like EC, Silsbee and other schools that seem to do well in both sports

they wont be able to replace him but as far as a the team goes they should be fine i mean lets be honest they weren't all that dominant last year with him and i don't see them being that dominant this year but i do believe that they will be a better overall team because they were young last year

Has WOS ever lost a district game if not how can you predict for them to lose?

nothing has changed this year from last in my openion this district is still a 3 headed monster with Evadale, WH, and HD being the only three teams i can see making the playoffs in this district and this year like last their is not a clear favorite. that being said here is how I'm picking and why 1. Evadale- Defending champs, good coaching, lots of players and they always play tough and never quit but they did lose a lot of good talent to graduation 2. WH- Losing copeland but their D was pretty good this year and not losing hardly anything should be much improved next year and anytime you have a good D you have a chance 3. HD- they will have the toughest job of replacing their seniors. i look for this to be a down year for HD maybe one of the worst they have had in many years, but they have good coaches and always manage to have a good team and in a weak i see them taking the 3rd spot

i believe basketball is king in SETX there are to many schools with great basketball tradition statewide

i disagree i believe this year his blocking will be much better because A&M had a very young o line and all of them are returning Christine's best asset next year will be other teams focusing more on mike goodson and hopefully he can sneak in there and contribute in a big way

i totally agree it takes more than athletes but no matter how good a coach is if you dont have any athletes it doesnt matter how good of a coach you are your never going to be a top ten team year in and year out

Oh come on now!!! : Newton fans themselves talk at great lengths of the athletes in Newton! Newton and WOS has athletes on top of athletes! Be realistic, please! I asked in another thread a hypothetical question when a similar topic came up: What if HOOKS had spent his entire career at (for example) BRIDGE CITY? What if BARBAY had always been at (for example) WARREN? Anyone want to venture guesses? Please do! if these two coaches would have coached at these two programs for as long as they have at the schools they are at now i believe that these two schools would be better than what they are now and on thier down years they wouldnt really be down years just average years but no i do not think that either school would be top 10 teams in the state year in and year out like newton and WOS are now

copeland might not have played great D but i think SP had two guys that played better D than Jones and Copeland other than the big kid from spurger probably was the 2nd best rebounder in the district and wasn't he District MVP last year?

it would be nice for one of these teams to do well but i just don't see it spurger is the only team with a chance SP is good but they have no inside game and that will kill them in the playoffs because one thing you need to win in the playoffs is tough D and rebounding and SP doesn't really have either one of these

i have a few questions maybe someone can clear up lets say WH does lose to spurger but beats HI wich they should that would put them at 4-6 in district, and if evadale beats HD and HD that would make evadale and HD both 4-6 right? and if this is correct how will they decide the last playoff seed

i dont know how many points he had but HD had thier chance to take control of the game because tyler sat out all but 1 min of the 3rd quarter due to foul trouble and WH's D stepped it up and only allowed HD to score 4 points with tyler on the bench

with a small O line i think that running a bunch of mis direction type of plays are most affective

yes he can but i dont belive that any of the 1A teams in district 25A could make the playoffs in the 2A district this year maybe spurger but thats a big maybe

trust me the year that yall won state Ozen would have beatin yall by about 30 and dayton beat yall also by about 20 so you cant say that no one in the district could have competed with yall
