Pate sheffield was a pure defender there top four scorers were JT Sheffield, Philip Whittaker, Blankenship, and the youngest whittaker. they will need help on the defensive end but they will score the ball without a problem. they will still miss philips presence, but dont underestimate them without philip.

This is exactly what my post said.The top 2 scorers were Phillip and JT while Pate was very good on the defensive end.George may develop into the best of the Whittacre boys but it will take a little time and Blankenship has a ton of potential.The thing Spurger will miss will be the senior leadership that you only get from playing.When the shots weren't falling last year from the arc they could depend on Phillip to steady the ship.I really believe they will have a good club this year,I just think the folks in the stands need to realize they are gonna be young and will have some bumps.While the new young coach will do a good job you have to respect what Stappert did.He took the Pirates to one game of the state tournament and that will be hard to duplicate.

        Well when you have seven years of good quality players and only make it to the playoffs once. That isn't doing alot in my point of view. True spurger did go all the way to regional finals, getting there by beating broaddus, bremond, west sabine, and a very good cayuga team; and losing to the best team in the state Big sandy. The season last year had alot to do with a communtiy that wanted to be recognized, as something else than  rednecks, imbreeds, and where Spurger is and what Spurger was about.  They were their for the teams support and was very proud of the PIRATES. Everyone did there part the fans, the jv for playing extremly hard defense in practice, the freshmens, the sophmores, the junior, the seniors, and the dedication of the coaching staff. Not just stappert and the seniors. Go pirates, show the fans that your not down!! ;D

I haven't talked to Cris since early in the summer so I hadn't heard he left.Give me the details there "Ric".Looking at the 06 roster this years group would struggle with them.The 06 club started Tyler Word,Kinney Granger,Paul Sims,Jewel Morrison and Caleb Swinney.They also had McBee,Jimmy Rawls and Brandon Sims who played quite a bit.This years club would struggle big time with that group.No disrespect to Cody but Matt is probably in a different league.The biggest trouble with this years group will be experience and dedication.Everyone graduated that started last year and these guys didn't spend much time in the gym this summer.I hope they do well,I'll be there watching.

well i dont know that much about warren but i do know they arent that good and i do know that spurger will never be like they were last year.

your write and wrong spurger will be nothing like they was last year there going to be a better team then last and the years coming up looks very promising too

cayuga is pretty good with the returning juniors Caleb Summerville and Traylon Shead but did anybody see spurger beating yuga last year and then look what happend. but big sandy is getting back 3 key starters with tolar, abbey, and kowena. and losing mckinney and langley are big losses but i see foster putting tolar on summerville and i think he will do a good job guarding him and if that happens then big sandy got that game in there hands! ;)

cody will do fine and theres nobody on spurgers team that could outplay him btw.... that  being said i still dont think warren will win more than 3 games this upcoming year... and whoever said the 06 team and this years team would be a good game has lost there mind...... starters 06 tyler word paul sims caleb swinney jimmy rawls and kinney granger...... this years starters blackshear, lil cody and blake andrews,....... the 06 backups would handle this years team by 20..... and the 06 vs 08 would be a good game also 08 would win but it wouldnt be a blowout...... and the 05 team is the best team to come thru warren in awhile since the days of mcneal, dunham , dees and adams

There is six people own spurger's jv that can outplay cody, and cody want do nothing this year... ;D ;D We'll see when the season comes around

Hey evolution what other guards in the district you give respect

well he is a forward most of the time but he has the speed and shooting ability of a guard. do u mean that abbey is bad as in like a bad player or bad as in like a good player

bad as in good and im not saying tolar can't shoot or he isn't quick enough to be a guard but he just can't dribble good enough to be one

i think the best 1A guards are big sandy's melton abbey and corey tolar.

I wouldn't consider tolar a guard but abbey is pretty bad.
