I sadly am not a fan the madness that was the HJ tournament this year was a huge disappointment and tainted only my second impression of him as a coach.

I do. I've never seen someone who could motivate a team to win a game more than Sutherland. He always seems to have his team believing that they could beat anyone. And I've seen them win a few games they would've lost had Sutherland not been coaching. And more importantly he was always firm with his star players but never harsh. He knew when to apply pressure and never took his foot too far off the gas. You know exactly what you're getting when you play a Sutherland coached team. Brian English is a great coach but he benches his starters for 2 quarters of almost every game (ozen and central excluded) which leads to losing games they shouldn't (their loss to the team for LA in the ned tourney this year which they were up big in) as well as silly turnovers that would probably be eliminated with more playing time.

Kountze hasn't won a state championship with players who weren't coached by Southerland first... Not taking anything away from that program just stating the facts.

Ned cant turn the ball over on the press. Turnovers kill that team. I look for a big game from Miguez. Nederland had the lead in the 4th of the last game. It's tough having to play Ozen and Central back to back. Hopefully its a great game.

Todd Sutherland. One of the Greatest men I've had the privilege of knowing and I'm always glad to see Coach Sutherland be successful everywhere he goes. He's molded the talent at each school he has been at and there is always a drop off when he leaves.

I think some of it was responding. I know i def heard Boyd telling Miguez he was soft. If i sank a few 3's in his face id probably clap my hands too. I have zero problem with players talking on the court. Its the disrespect he had towards his coach.

Difference in talking a little trash and disrespecting your coach the way that Boyd did tonight. Miguez played a hell of a game in both match-ups. Nederland vs Central will be a fun one to watch.

Boyd is another talented kid with an awful attitude. If he doesn't shape up college coaches wont put up with it. Good game though. Miguez had close to 30 and played really well for nederland. Boyd undercut him bad once should've been a flagrant. But Nedeland has to be able to finish. Those TO's will kill ya. Up double digits in both games and gave em away with turnovers.

Anyone mind posting the address. I'd like to attend but I've never been and I'm noticing some of the gyms aren't at the same location as the highschool.

23 pts and 6 boards and a few assist. I hear Nigel is Centrals best player and not to take anything away from the young man but I just didn't see anything to impressive other than his ability to knock down his FT's. Centrals #12 is why they won that game he hit shot after shot when Nigel went out. Edited for correction. 23
