John McMillion drafted by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the 21st round.  What an honor for all these  young men to be even considered by the MLB.  Congratulations and way to represent East Texas.

Attended both Jasper/Hardin Jefferson games watching McMillion pitch and HJ has definitely improved in the short season.  Impressed with the kid playing CF for Jasper.   Jasper is very talented in many areas.  HJ showed a lot of heart and didn't quit when they got behind late.  Lot of upside to this team.
 
 

One of the pitchers being left out is John McMillion from Jasper.  He has committed to Texas Tech but if he continues like he did against LCM he may skip Tech and go into the MLB.  Against LCM he was 90-96 and at the plate 3 for 3 with a double and home run.  This kid has the size at 6'2 245 lbs.

Jasper had their chances with an incomplete pass on fourth down inside the ten, missed field goal, a failed fourth down and inches, but can't understand down by 14 with 6+ minutes and we run the clock out when QB went down.   I know jasper tries to not let kids go both ways but heck when it is do or die you go with your next best option at QB.  Great season and Navasota answered the call each time jasper put the pressure on them.  Navasota is a very good team and well coached.  Navasota's last TD drive after they stopped Jasper on fourth and inches was a championship team drive mixed with run and pass.
