Senate approves UIL sports for Homeschooled kids
I'm curious to know if House Bill 72 (no pass, no play) will apply to these students. Would the parents be required to turn in grades to the school of participation every 6 weeks? And if so, do you really think any parents would "fail" their own child and allow them not to participate?
I believe they are required to take test to pass their work. Chester86 is pretty involved in homeschool baseball, I'll see if he will clear up some questions on this thread about homeschooling. -
I assume a home-schooled student would be required to participate for the school whose attendance zone they reside. If so, this is nothing like the Private school issue in regard to recruiting athletes.
This article doesn't say, but other things I have read say that the kid must live in the school district. Some other states already do this. Tim Tebow was homeschooled when he starred in HS. -
Bryce Harper is on pace to hit 324 homeruns this year. Not bad for a guy who can't even drink beer legally.
-
Justin Maxwell is a freak athlete. If he can keep his average up, he will be a star in this league.

Lyle Lovette twice? We can't do any better than that?

I didn't pick any of the Final 4 teams. I don't think that's ever happened before.

Taken batters to full counts and depending on how many the batter fouls off helps to elevate a pitch count. If they want to have him around the rest of the season no matter if he has a no hitter going you still stick by the pitch count you set for the kid. It's not about the kid, it's about the team .
I understand all this, and again I'm not questioning the coach. I'm just saying, 0 runs, 0 hits, and he usually doesn't walk a lot of people, there would have to be a lot of foul balls and errors. What would you consider a high pitch count?
It's all relative. In the grand scheme of things what does a no hitter against Ozen your freshman year really matter? I would rather have him healthy and fresh in the playoffs and the next 3 years of his career than throw a no hitter in a meaningless game.

HR's by Saatzer and Mullens Ozen got no hit for the week
Man, why would you pull him one inning from a no hitter?
You coach young kids. Answer your own question for me please..... ;D
