I see Vidor winning 7 games this year...Sante Fe, Bridge City, Livingston, LC-M, PN-G, Ozen and Lumberton.  They have lost a lot when it comes to personnel but Coach Matthews will keep the Pirate ship afloat and headed in the right direction.  I think they have one of the softer non-district schedules but will stumble against Cleer Creek.  With the 5 district wins they would qualify for the 3rd playoff spot...
Unless Vidor has petitioned UIL for another year of eligibility for Montana, there's no way the Pirates are winning seven games. You will battle for a playoff spot but, you won't be close to the team you have been the last couple seasons.

 3.
1. Nederland - experience, experience, experience. 2. Ozen - I've heard they have a stud Rb and a decent offensive line.  Also, they have arguably the most highly touted college prospect in the country in Mr. Tony Brown... 3. Central - with the 3 stooges finally gone and with the arrival of Coach Forman, we should be in the mix with arguably the best secondary in the district starring Mitchell and Locke. 4. Vidor -there are kids there that will be seniors that played on the 2 previous years winning teams that still have that winners swag.  That along with coach Matthews winning program, they will still make the playoffs. 5. PN-G - they return Mr. Rose, but that's about it. 6. Livingston - Smh...  Life after Collins... 7. LC-M -  Seltzer (sp) wasn't much of an impact. Now, that he's gone..... 8. Lumberton - not much talent returning and with the Coach getting canned....
I agree with Soulja. Everyone is chasing (1) Nederland. R. Randle is going to be a beast at RB for (2) Ozen. (3) Central should return to playoff form. And I would give (4) PNG the edge over Vidor. It's hard to replace the heart and soul that Vidor lost. Livingston, LC-M, and Lumberton fight to make sure their "L" doesn't stand for "last".
WB won district ONE time under Coach Stump. There was no big four when Stump coached the Bruins. It was a six team district including Channelview and Baytown Sterling. It was pretty much a given they would get in the playoffs. It is a much tougher district now. I don't believe anyone is saying the Bruins will win district but, they will be talented enough to make the playoffs. I think they knock off one of the playoff teams from last year and get in.
+5
Only time will tell.  You make a good point about the alignment of the district when Stump was at the helm.  However, even those seasons that they didn't win district but made the playoffs, they did well in the postseason too.  Which set the bar pretty high, I don't know that Flannigan and company could have done the same in the district then and certainly have my doubts about them doing so now facing the big four.  Again, I know it takes time to put in a system, but last year was rather dismal.  I hope Flanigan proves me wrong, but I'll wait...
The talent level Flannigan is coaching is far less than the level and amount of talent Stump coached at WB. After C-mike gets drafted this weekend that would be two NFL RBs Stump coached. Flannigan doesn't have a NFL RB to bail him out. Hell it can be said the with all the talent Stump coached that he underachieved at West Brook. I do agree with you about the jury still being out on Flannigan though. Everyone knew last year would be mediocre. This year he has a more talented team, so we'll see what type of coach he is.

 13. If Flannigan plays the right kid at QB, West Brook will be one of the four playoff teams. If not then the season will look a lot like the last one. As far as the speed statement, Hervey the returning starting RB ran a 10.6 hundred meters and is pretty fast. I'm hearing that the new strength and conditioning coach has the players looking like beasts. Will see???

I've experienced going to school in a predominately black school as well as predominately white and although some kids experiences are similar, most often the situation is much more challenging an different in several of the predominately black house holds & schools! I have witnessed kids in both types of schools who had to worry about their lights, gas or water being on when they reached home! Some did not know where there next meal would come from and/or having minimal clothes to wear are even having to baby sit because their Mom had to work two jobs or odd jobs to provide! This is what alot of Coaches will often face in the inner ciy and this is why possessing social work skills could be advantages to their wins & losses as well as character development and a childs overall success! I don't expect everyone to understand this or even agree because its hard sometimes to speak on somethings we lack experience of! Once again Just My Opinion!
I see what your saying man and IMO it's a load of crap. Don't give me that stuff about black kids have it harder cuz this and that. Poverty isn't just a problems of the black people man.
Explain?
Bad hires is what put Ozen's football program in the hole in the first place. Coach Nelson worked to change the entire brand of football Ozen was putting out on the field. It hadn't shown in wins and loses but, it showed in performance. Now is not the time to turn this program over to a guy that was only the OC in title alone. Everyone knows coach Harrison is the driving force behind Memorial's offense. Imo a proven head coach would take Ozen's football program back to where it needs to be.

All Beaumont nurtures is BUST in college.  Kid didn't get a  offer till he came to WOS. Go check out rivals.com WOS is DBHS as far as all the scouts are concerned. He's from Orange Texas like I said we let Beaumont borrow him he came home and got his scholarship. He'll tell you out his own mouth where the real football players are. WOS

What's funny is you have said he didn't get on the field for WOS. So what footage are the Iowa State coaches using to judge his talent on? The footage from Beaumont Ozen. Congrats on the scholarship Chris.

But is a super athlete an will blow up this spring an summer.5'10 185 safety and runningback 10.6 100 meters.Last year alone WOS fielded these dbs on a 3A team. Travon Blanchard (Baylor signee) Jmarcus Rhodes (SMU signee) Quentin Tezeno (Utep signee) Colin Janice ( Arkansas State signee) Deionte Thompson (2015 Bama commit) Chris James (2014 Iowa State commit) 2006 Deon Beasley 2007 Earl Thomas, Jacoby Franks 2008 Seth Thomas 2010 Trey Franks James Haynes 2011 Mark Roberts 2012 Justin Thomas Dacarlos Renfro. All these kids played DB for WOS pretty impressive for a school with less then 700 Kids in the entire school.
Didn't he start at safety for Ozen last year? It's hard to start for WOS when he's on Ozen's football team.
Started maybe 5 games for Ozen then transfered to WOS for the rest of the season. Had to sit out 15 days while at that time coaches told him he wouldn't see the field unless he took someone's spot. The point is 6FBS DB's on one 3A team is amazing imo.
I heard he transferred a week before the Silsbee game. And he was a two year starter for Ozen.
Idk what the exact date was but he only played in one district game for Ozen Then on top of that he's from Orange we let Ozen borrow him.
He left Ozen after the LCM game. That's seven games including four district games. He started at Safety  as sophomore which is another thirteen games. That's twenty varsity games in an Ozen uniform. He played seventh and eighth grade football at Odom. Sounds like Beaumont nurtured his talent and is now letting Orange borrow him to me.
