  1. Ok here is one of the many possible scoops of what happened at the Ozen PNG game with the cop on the field. A fan/parent of a player went to the sideline and got into a arguement and a fight with a Ozen player. Beyond that I dont know what else happened. Great parent/fan support.
  2. AMEN !!! Patitan I also truly believe LCM has a great opportunity to beat Central. I've seen Central play and was not as impressed with them as I was last year. It will be a very close game and it will come down to mental mistakes and awareness.
  3. I dont think ya'll got my comments about PNG having a shocker victory over Ozen !!! I was being sarcastic in my statements. PNG has been given little to no credit or respect so far to date. I truly believe PNG is a team to not be taken lightly about in this district. They have alot of very talented players and I believe PNG is being taken lightly. Which is fine. I think its best for the boys, I know I haven't seen a PNG team this focused in years on achieving the goals they have set for themselves. They don't talk about defeat, only a successful outcome. They truly believe in themselves and that they are the team to beat. (TRADITION, PRIDE and EXCELLENCE) !!!!!!!!!!!!!! FYI: I am a PNG dad. My son dosen't even get on this site because he dosen't feel it serves him or his teammates a purpose. All I hear from all these players is stay focused, leave it all on the field. We will win !!! My Opinion. I think Burnett and his coaching staff are doing a great job this season irregardless of the 2 losses. He has motivated these boys and kept them focused even in defeat. They know what counts and when it counts. I THINK IN THIS DISTRICT ITS ANYONE'S GAME ON ANY GIVEN NIGHT !!! WHOEVER WANTS IT THE MOST WILL WIN !!!!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK TO ALL AREA TEAMS. THIS DISTRICT IS JUST AMAZING WITH ALL THE TALENT ON THE FIELD EVERY FRIDAY NIGHT.
  4. I think its all about the IF !!!! There are alot of if's and "I wonder"s in life. Show up and prove it all on the field.
  5. Well from what I've read on alot of different post, it sounds like a shocker victory would be PNG over Ozen. I dont see alot of folks giving any credit to PNG, but I can see why. Going 1-3 so far, with their only victory being over Silsbee. With the spread not working very well in the first 2 games, but going back to the smashmouth football PNG is known for, (Passing game is better than most think it is) maybe with a major shocker PNG might be given just a smidge of respect and credit. I know alot of the players on this years team. They dont care about rankings, credit or respect, all these guys want to do is play ball and leave it all on the field and know they played as hard as they possibly could. What more could a fan, parent or coach want to see. I predict a shocker with PNG winning in a close one over Ozen.
  6. My alma mater--- In New MExico. Farmington SCORPIONS !!!!
  7. Well I would have to agree that Dayton should be ranked higher than lumberton. Look at who Lumberton has played and look at who Dayton has played. No comparision. Heck for that matter I think PNG should be ranked higher than Lumberton. Espically if we go on strength of schedule. PNG has played 2 ranked teams and a Silsbee team that was picked to finish in the top 3 of their district. I'm Sure PNG's players would have loved to play some rollover teams and have 3 wins under their belts too, but, they played 2 solid teams to start and found out that committing 100% to the spread Offense wasent PNG's cup of tea !!! They appeared to have gone back to smash mouth running but still have a very potent passing attack. (OK enough for me on PNG). Lumberton hasen't been challenged all pre-season. As were most other teams have in this district. So Lumberton its time to show everyone else that what you did to a bunch of freshmen teams can be done to the real teams !!!!!!! Dayton wins big !!!!
  8. I'm sure it willl be a great game !!! Finally DISTRICT IS HERE !!! I feel there are going to be some major upsets this year !!! I dont forsee the rankings being the same at the end of the year as everyone has been prediciting so far for the top 3 spots. Could be some sleeper (dark horse) teams in the top 3 at the end of the year.
  9. From what I've heard PNG will still utilize the spread, but not on every down. I think with the backs they have and the O line blocking better they will be able to throw the ball or run on a D much more effectively than they did, or could have, against LM and Crosby. PNG ran the spread several times at Silsbee and I believe that Tatum hit one of the recievers for a td pass. A new offense takes time to mature. So what if they are going to go back to running the ball, they still have a passing attack that I think will catch teams off guard. PNG By 10 !!!
  10. dude !!! way to early for this !!!! All teams need to concentrate on getting everyone healthy for district play. MCM will start in 3 weeks. I know PNG is working on Ozen. PNG looked sharp today in practice. Dont mean to harp on MCM, but lets start this bantering in a few more weeks.
  11. What would it be like if PNG and Nederland school districts merged for football in the area. What would it be like if Central and Ozen merged for football in the the area. Two power houses in the state. NO doubt in my mind. Just fantasy thinking, thats all. But would be extremely interesting.
  12. ??? HMMM Look at lumbertons preseason schedule. They have not played anyone strong. Look at PNG, Nederland, Daytons preseason schedules, they played some very tough and ranked teams. Having a hard preseason schedule helps get the men in shape and tested. Our district is a monster of a district. It is one of, if not the most strongest and toughest districts in the state. Lumberton will win big against Cleveland, but who wouldnt. I think most JV teams would win that game. Alot has been said about lumberton, when you get to district play it will be a different story and a totally different game style, compared to what Lumberton has played up to now. Dayton by atleast 28.
  13. ;D I went to this game. WOW !!! I have to say that the O line was what created the opportunities for the backs to run the ball so well. PNG's O Line was a big question mark for PNG this season. I would have to say they look very good and very impressive. They did a good job against LaMarque, They kinda slowed down against Crosby, But from what I saw at the Crosby game not all the starters played on the O Line. I saw the starting center # 52, (Program says Riley) sitting on the side line, and a starting tackle not playing much either. At Silsbee they had their starting O Line in the game and look what happened. I saw holes you could drive a truck thru !!! PNG's O Line has matured alot and they are showing it. They may not be a SL Carrol size but they are very strong and very fast. They work together as a solid unit. There could be some all district linemen come from PNG, probably the center and quick guard. Tezeno, WOW he has improved alot in just 2 weeks. Some of his running reminds me of the RB we played from LaMarque. Very quick and alot of good moves. Also, Hemmings, great power runner and blocker. Wright impressed me with his speed and blocking abilities as well. The passing game, Shaky at first, but the connections started happening, they looked good. I cant say enough about the Defense. Very strong and good. With PNG going back to smash mouth football, It will work for them very well. I feel they will increase their passing game alot more than they did last year. I have good feelings about this team and the district race. (if they stay healthy) Good job PNG !!! We knew you could do it and you did !!! Your fans support you even in the bad times !!! Cant beat the PNG Fans !!! and our support of the men playing out on the field !!!
  14. Ok here are some of my observations of the Crosby-PNG game. The O line held their own except at the center spot. All I seem to have seen was the center diving out on the groung hoping to chop someone. ? Why was #52 Riley, the center who played against lamarque not playing at all ? He was on the sideline the entire night! After watching the PNG - lamarque game on tv, he is one hell of a good blocker. I saw at the crosby game the center getting run over and png's qb running and getting sacked. The D did good, needs to close the run gaps better, but I give them a B on the grade. THe offense, and F !!! They seemed to want to let Tatum get killed. Just a rant here. I know PNG will improve. But against Silsbee they need to put the team they want playing on the field and not experiment with other kids in postions that they obviously cant handle. Give the ball to Hemmings and tezeno more if the passing game isnt working. They will get it right. No predictions for the silsbee game.
  15. I heard png may have made some changes on the O line. Removing some seniors and putting in some Juniors. At the store in PN, I overheard they replaced the center with a smaller man, the one who played at Reliant was hugh and seemed to do very well. Also has anyone heard if Tezeno will play against Crosby ? Anyone heard of any of these rumors yet ?
  16. Nederlands qb put on a very impressive show at reliant Friday nite ! He will be getting alot of looks from alot of different colleges. To see him hurt means some possible problems for the nederland offense. To say he will be back in about 4 weeks though may be a stretch. Having some broken bones in his ankle, foot or leg is not as easy to heal as a major sprain. He could easily re-injure it easily and that could take him out for the entire season. I know they need a replacement qb, but if they push him to return to soon they could really cause him some major problems with his injury or keep him out for the entire season. (I spent 8 years in sports med with a university) Never push a player to return !!!! I do wish him a speedy recovery !!! I really enjoyed watching him pick apart Brenham !!!! For a kid his age, let him decide when he feels comfortable to return to the field. Just my concern for the safety of the boys !!!!
  17. I was at the png and jasper game. The first series on offense for png looked terrible and the same for the defense. (I would say that alot of what occurred for png was the jitters) The second series for both offense and defense were total opposite of the first series. (NOTE: I'm sure that in the reality of everyones first scrimmage, alot of mistakes were made. Alot to learn still for alot of the local area teams) I was impressed with png's offensive line. Not very big but they looked very quick and blocked very well for both the run and the pass. Their pass protection looked very good. They picked up several multi player blitz's and kept the pocket for tatum to throw. Cudo's on the O line !!! I say alot of teams will improve dramitically over the next 2 weeks. We have baytown sterling next saturday in baytown, Im sure alot of the bugs will be worked out. I read alot about png and the concerns of the O line. I think they have a good O line. Next week will be a good test. Tatum seems very calm in the pocket and behind the center. Great passer !!! I look forward to watching him more. He reminds me of Dustin Long in his way of handling a situation on the field. Good luck to all the area teams. Lets go Southeast texas and make it home with some state titles !!!!!!
  18. I have been watching alot of the seniors and juniors go to the school and work out, jog, get in shape and/or stay in shape. I have seen some of the offensive line men for png and let me tell you some of them look like extremely stout thick boys ! I noticed the speed they show in firing off the line. I see PNG turning things around this season. The QB seems to be showing alot of talent, I think possibly along the lines of Long. The center Riley snaps the shot gun amazingly, and is very fast for a 6 ' 265lb offensive line man. Cortez is very strong and very fast as a guard. The spread on the line and their strength and speed will give the QB alot of time to sit in the pocket and throw. I see the top 3 seeds in the district to be Dayton, PNG and Nederland. I always say never underestimate the indians. They appear to be functioning more closely as a unit than I have seen in several years. All we can do is wait >>>>>>>>
