  1. Ancelets made the best I have had, and Zummo's wasn't bad.
  2. I agree Bronco1, the young mans request is going to be very hard to come by. A whole lot of us have been in the same boat. So to speak!!!
  3. Great ball game, decided in the last minute. Congratulations to Anahuac and good luck in the playoff game tonight. And, congrats to Warren seniors Tiffany Weise, Christen Lee and Jenna Murray, who played in their last high school game. Good job girls, we are very proud of you.
  4. EC is at home and the favorite, but Warren has played extremely well recently. My prediction is......................that I will be sitting at a table at AL T's right across from WHSALUM after the game.
  5. The old fashioned "Tie Breaker". Each team won at home, so now we will see what happens at a neutral site. Should be a good game.
  6. Good Question !!!!! If you remember Warren played volleyball in the north district, and everything else in the south (this years 24 2A)
  7. Warren seems to have returned to early season form. They jumped out to an early lead against Anahuac, and didn't lose their poise when the Panthers made their 3rd quarter run and took the lead. In the 4th they did not panic and reaaserted their offensive game plan and moved the ball well to the hot shooting Paul Sims, and took back, control of ther game. Defensive effort was the best in several games for the Warriors, who matched up well against the quick and athletic Panthers.
  8. With this win, Warren moves to 6 and 5, and have only a game with Buna left on Friday night. If they defeat Buna, it will bring them to 7 and 5, and force a playoff with Anahuac for the 3rd playoff spot. This was a huge win for the Lady Warriors, under 1st year Coach Sherrie Broocks. Brandi Burnes and Tiffany Weise each had 14 for Warren and J. Speights had 12 for Anahuac.
  9. I think Warren wins this in a close one by 3 !!!!!
  10. I have to go with Sims also. Been over 80% for years.
  11. Marsh of Hardin. He really elevates before the stuff.
  12. From the way it looks, they (Warren) would just about have to run the table to get in. Its even mathematically possible with one more loss, but it would take some teams knocking off higher teams, which IS possible. The Warriors are a very talented team !!!!!, but they are going to have to click on all cylinders again, and forget about all of the unfortunate results, and bad luck, that are now in the past. One good game and they could be off and "runnin" again !!!!
  13. Lauren Deavers (Kountze) 29 and 20 points in the two district games.
  14. Kountze is a very talented, and well coached team, and was just too much for the Warren Lady Warriors on Friday night. Lauren Deavers shot lights out for 29, and Kayla Hargraves wasn't too far behind. The Kountze press was smothering as usual, and forced a lot of turnovers, although the Lady Warriors scrapped and showed a lot of heart. Tiffany Weise had 14 points and Brandi Burnes had a fine defensive game for Warren.
  15. Style of play and home court will propel Kountze by 10. Kountze 70 Hardin 60.
  16. Tiffany Weise (Warren) had a career high of 39 points and 12 rebounds against Buna Tuesday night.
  17. I would be more sypathetic to the officials if they would just enforce the basic rules. A strong pressing defense is in most cases, given the green light to HAND CHECK, HACK, PUSH, REACH, BUMP, and other violations, which creates a decided defensive advantage. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy watching a smothering well oiled press, when it is officiated cleanly, but how often do you see that!!! And also I dont blame the coaches of full court pressure teams for taking advantage. You take what they give you. Oh, by the way, I also have called a game or two in the past. Maybe even a few with Warfan.
  18. Lady Warriors survived about mounting a furious rally in the last minute or two. With Tiffany Weise and Christen Lee in foul trouble the Lady Hornets took it them and led by 7, deep into the 4th quarter, before the Warren comeback. Congrats to the Lady Warriors, who are now 5 - 2 in district. Hats off also to the Lady Hornets, who have been without star player Nicole Mamerow, but still played a tough, scrappy game.
