I'm being very serious in saying, the offensive line for Ozen will be overwhelmed, and Mr. Green may have escaped the rushes of Lumberton, Livingston, etc. etc. NONE of the teams on their schedule have the defensive firepower of the Ice Cream Boys. Sorry to break it to ya...but it's going to be ugly........ Cubbies by 5 TD's
Are you going?
Seems like the Cub players bought into this line of thinking as well? Everyone that has seen Ozen play at the end of the year tried to tell the 17-4a supporters not to take them lightly..Not only did the fans but the Brenham players did as well and paid for it with a 2nd round loss..JMO
 3. Broncos trying to sweep 17-4A from the playoffs....Bronco QB is on fire!!!!
 4. Great job Panthers!!!Stayed in Houston after our game and couldn't believe the score when I saw it on my phone...Keep it up!!!!!
HS football is a game of emotions. What looked to be an outright rout by Vidor wound up being a 1 score differance caused by on side kicks, etc, etc but you don't have to explain a Victory.I'm so proud of Vidor's never quit team and their fans r awesome not just this year but in 09 when we played them last.I picked Vidor in da pic-ems on HEART,they didn't let me down 8)
Keep hanging with us liltex...I am starting to think your good luck.
 9. Great football game!!! Just got back to the hotel...Montgomery never gave up and the QB was pin point on the late TD passes.
Really?  They've had them every time I've been there.
If I walk through a metal detector at this game it will be a first for me at a high school game...I guess Vidor and Montgomery can both be thankful that we do not have this worry about at our home fields.

I would say more than 90 percent would love prayer at the games leaving 10 percent not liking it. I guess thats what our country has come too. LET MINORTY RULE  ... I think not !!!
Then you might as well throw out the Constitution if majority wins. The majority could vote to kill all blondes (natural or bottle made) and it would be legal. After all, majority rules. A saying that is attributed to Benjamin Franklin goes something like this when speaking of democracy...... "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." I wonder what the lamb would think about pure democracy.
Great Post TVC....I think some people get caught up on this topic and forget that when you take out some parts of the constitution that is not popular with the majority you no longer have a democracy.. PS...I believe in prayer but very much respect the rights of the people that do not.
 12.

Dear Cougar14, You sir, disgust me!  The only stomach churning going on is to read that someone, who I suspect has never coached anything other than perhaps pee wee flag football, would have to audacity to say that Vidor's team is made up of nobody's that wouldn't even start in Crosby.  Well, our boys wouldn't WANT to!  These boys have played through pain, both physical and emotional this year and have remained unwavered in their quest to go as far as they possible can towards state.  They play with their heart and carry the memory of their fallen brother on that field every week.  These kids are fine young men and Crosby would be lucky to have them grace their field.  As far as the coaching staff in Vidor, they are second to NONE.  These men spent much of their time away from their families to not only coach this team, but to mentor them and to be role models of what a man truly is.  Vidor won that game against Crosby because they fought their way to a win....Crosby came up short.  It's unfortunate to me that people in Crosby don't understand that although it is the coach's responsibility to prepare these boys to play the game, they are not the ones on the field.  The team has to have the will to win and play with that determination.
All I was saying Ms. Baseballwife is that vidor runs a simplified scheme with inferior athletes. For example, I belive they beat ozen this year. Ozen has 5 kids that will play d1 football, which I would describe as talent. Crosby has similiar numbers. The difference is how the kids are prepared. I played d1 college football after rushing for 1000+ with jimmy dickey as the head coach. Lamar mitchell and I were the first team all district backs in 2000. I had 4 other guys in my class that played d1. We went 1-9 and only lost one game (#6 forest brook) by more than 4 points. I would call that squandered talent. Y'all have been to the playoffs 5 times in 40 years, that's a talent problem. Vidor has a couple kids that might be able to walk on somewhere which is fine for a program of that stature. I guess if I offended you I will pay reparations by saying katy doesn't have much talent either but wins state championships. I know your going to say Andy Dalton which is fine, that's one guy off several state championship teams. At the end of the year look at the offers katy players have versus a team like north shore who had to beat channelview to get into the playoffs. They have over 10 d1 kids on the varsity, katy has 3-4 but steamrolls north shore as of late. Tim cornett is the starting running back at unlv. He backed up tracy woods at north shore, as in didn't start in high school but started as a true freshman at a major d1. Katy could claim nothing of the sort but would beat the shore 8 out of 10 times. Only difference, gary joseph.
One thing you left out....Those teams like Katy play team 1st football and buy into the program...D1 talent is a great thing to have on a football team but,if those players are only worried about getting that D1 ride they might end up on the wrong end of the scoreboard...Football is the ultimate team sport IMO..Very seldom IMO does the most talented team when state championships. Its the ones that are the most unselfish.
 13.

I think this will be a great game...and I can assure you that no one in Montgomery is looking past Vidor.  I did not know the adversity that you have been through this year, but it has the makings of a "team of destiny" sort of thing.  Anyway, the great thing about this game is what I like about Texas High School football...two small towns, where football is very important, meeting up for an all or nothing matchup...they make movies about this kind of stuff. As far as the game itself, after watching some Vidor film with my son, I think that Montgomery will win (of course) 24 - 14.  The style of offense you run will keep our O off the field as much as we are used to...however, our defensive speed will create some negative yardage plays by rushing 8 or 9 and keep you out of the endzone for much of the night...unless you guys learn to throw the ball this week.  The Bears defense is holding opponents to less that 200 ypg...the last 4 teams averaged 64 ypg. All in all, it should be a pretty close game...much more so than Montgomery/Huntsville or Vidor/Crosby.  I think how well the Vidor defense does against our 430 yard and 42 point per ganme offense will be the decising factor.  I canot wait!
Just ask Ozen and Livingston what blitzing will do to this type of offense. Our type of offense is misdirection offense which mean 9 times out of 10 you will probably not know who will get the ball until they have it which means you better have everyone covered. All it takes is one of your guys blitzing to guess wrong on who has the ball and it can turn into a big play. All four of our runners have really good speed and if you guess wrong then its either 6 points or a big run. And we know how to pass the ball. We've proved that in most our games this year.
It will absolutely shut it down!  We blitz about 85% of the time, and playing yalls type of offense didnt affect us at all.  Montgomery disguises their blitz packages very well.  I'm not saying y'all won't score, but I doubt it will be a lot.
Your correct brenhamfan...Thats what blitzes are designed to do but, they also give up hugh plays if you get caught in the wrong one at the wrong time...We are use to seeing 8 or 9 in the box..The trouble is with that many defenders close to the line of scrimmage. If the running backs pops through its usually 6.Should be interesting.

BTW Who Is this the REAL ONE AND ONLY Mark F Barnes. BTW whow the f*&%$ is the real Mark F Barnes. Your majesty mark f barnes seems to be a little full of himself. I'm not even from Vidor and he offends me. I coached against an ex NFL player who was also an all american in college that people would know and beat him like he owed me money. Big Deal. Looks like the most you learned in the NFL was to eat. I hope your racial slurs against Vidor don't go unnoticed. ( This is the part about Tyrone not driving around Vidor for your folks info.) Your kind are disgusting and shouldn't be allowed around anyones kid. Or for that matter anyones cows. You could probably eat one in world record time. Vidor will be the underdog in this game, but I've seen them play three times this year and tell your boys to strap it up tight cause win or lose you'll remember Vidor. BTW the racial BS by the Crosby School board was a contributing factor in getting their a55es kicked. Good luck and try not to choke on a chicken bone.
I noticed them also....

 23.
Go get Montgomery. Vidor played hard and with lots of class. Quirante is one heck of a leader. I don't see how he doesn't get worn out. The o-line for Vidor was impressive. #2 Bolinger was a little out of sync and it seemed like he was taking off 1/2 step to early a few times. #8 at CB made some great tackles, and #16 another secondary kid was impressive. They tackle well out in space. I think it's safe to say that the twins weren't overhyped too much. Those two 15 yr olds are about as good as I've ever seen. They made some highlight runs. Crosby will be back.
16 is a great kid and the only senior on the defense...Personally I think the secondary is what won the game for us..They took great angles on the twins when they were out in space and tackled pretty well when they got to them..Our secondary is alot faster than people think and our O-line while undersized will flat out get after you.
 24.
Congrats to Vidor. Good game played by a team that executed well and beat us with a lot of heart and determination. Vidor wanted it more. Good luck the rest of the way. I am disappointed that Crosby averaged 9 yards a carry but turnovers will kill you everytime. And we couldn't stop Vidor although, I don't know if they got more than 10 yards in a single carry all night - just kept grinding away at 3, 4, and 5 yards a pop.  Either way, Vidor poses a tough matchup because they execute well (especially the o-line) and their defense tackles well. Hopefully the Cougars will make this a lesson learned. I saw no quit in the twins - they played hard all night.
Those two are very talented...Gonna be fun to watch....I was shocked Crosby stayed in a 3 man front all night on defense...That pretty much assured our offense of 3 or 4 yards every snap
