He tries so hard to be difficult around here but knowing him personally, well...he's really a cool dude.  Ain't ya, SFA!  8)  Plus he's handy to have on the line in a flag football game! 

I hear Bobby August is looking for a gig.  At least the fans would actually have something legitimate to whine about for a year.

1.  We have a basketball team??? Wow, I thought they shut down that program after Brian English graduated in '87.

I know this has been asked many times, but did the Raiders actually win the distrcit title outright or is it a shared co-district title with Livingston?

My understanding is.....

In the eyes of the UIL, the "official" title will be District CO-Champions with Livingston BUT

In the eyes of football fans everywhere, it is understood Lumberton is the sole district champ since its owns the head to head with Livingston.

UIL only uses head to head match ups for playoff tie breakers and playoff seedings.

I just put my glasses on to see your point of view and it still came out fuzzy.  It's Co-Champs no matter how you look at it.  What is so hard for people to understand about that?  It's like the year back in the 90's that PNG shared the title with whomever and still had shirts printed that said "District Champs".  Even at the playoff game we attended in College Station I felt compelled to point out the error to some unsuspecting kool-aid drinker from Port Neches while dining out at Chili's.  :

Enjoy it Dog fans because Friday night we are done if we play anything like we've played for over HALF THIS SEASON, stick a fork in us.  By the skin of our teeth we made it into the first round of the playoffs and I'll be shocked if we go any farther.  The talent in our District continues to improve and we do not.  The Dogs have great athletes but I seriously question some of the coaching techniques over the last two years.  We've become so freakin transparent that I'm surprised the Ghost Hunters crew hasn't come down to investigate.  Before anyone says "you're just bitter", no I'm just honest.  Our fans have become spoiled to winning and sit in the stands pouting when we're not winning the games.  Lumberton has an awesome thing going on.  Watching the fans, band, coaching staff and players get "excited" is so refreshing that I almost went to their side last night to join the band on the "Thriller" dance.  Lumberton isn't "ruined" by winning yet.  Nederland and PNG have been.  Personally I believe a couple of losing seasons would actually be the best medicine and maybe everyone (coaching staff especially) will refocus and figure out why the heck they're actually here.

My two cents...and this coming from a "homer".  :

The team with the least of them usually wins but since you watch football like a woman, I guess you wouldn't know such things.

You're saying in lumberton they quit delivering the sports page because ya'll weren't making the playoffs in years past?   ;D   I guarantee you every kid on lumberton's squad knows exactly who LM is, and what they've done in the past.  The thing that you guys have going for ya'll is that you've got nothing to lose.  History was made when lumberton made the playoffs, and again when they won their first playoff game.  This season is a success for them by anyone's standards, so the pressure will be off a little bit.  Hopefully this will relax them enough to go out there and play their game.  Who knows, anything can happen.  

I guarantee you there were fans in the stands last night that had no clue who LM was.  They were asking us Nederland fans "where are they from? are they good? Where is Lamarque at?".  Seriously, I thought they were joking.  They weren't. 

Congrats!  I give props where props are due.  I was one of the many who didn't give the L-Train a chance.  The Cinderella season continues and I just love it that LaMarque gets beat.  It would have been sweeter with Dayton blowing them out but I'll take it.  As I said once before the game still has to be played.  As far as the sportsmanship goes, yeah LaMarque ALWAYS has a handfull of players that just act completely and totally like idiots, which make the rest of the players and team look bad along with their fans.  The mascot should be dismissed from the squad and along with the cheerleader coordinator either reprimanded or dismissed as well, that kind of behavior is completely and totally not acceptable (Lumberton get UIL involved!).  For such a dynasty you'd think things like this wouldn' happen.  I'm sure the repulsive Houston Chronicle will find some way to write a two page article about them even though they've been eliminated.  L-Train you better have your ducks in a row the next couple of weeks.  TC beat LaMarque and Dayton made TC look like Smiley, scary.  Good Luck and hope to see a rematch in two weeks.

Pfft, I've been saying it for years.  The only thing missing from Lamarque's halftime performance is a shiny metal pole on the 50 yard line.

It's raunchy and they know it.  For that matter, everybody knows it. 

Titan rags on about mosely becasue he is from MC and whenever he says anything about him, it pushes yall (Nederland fans) buttons.  It's mostly in smack talk, although, just like shorttexas1 said, Titan is an old Lincoln and remembers that rivalry with Nederland.  I don't think this has to do with the white/black thing.

Yeah, Titan rags on Mid-County because of the reasons BMT says.  However, he's really a decent guy and somebody I have no problem calling friend.  And "bee"lieve me, he's the guy you want on your flag football team.  Right PATitan?  ;D

I agree Mike. I love it when people post a team's record and say "they've won every game!" Ok ok ok...but who have they played? Bay City? The were beaten handily by a TAPPS team this year.

Let this be a lesson that a team's record isn't indicative of what's possible in the playoffs. I'd rather be 6-5 and still in the hunt than 8-3 and going home.

GP should and will win this game. Have ya'll seen who all they've beaten in Non District?

Umm, yeah...we have and we've also seen who they beat in district games as well. Care to give your basis for the statement of "GP should and will win this game"? Is this simply based on your obvious dislike of Nederland or do you actually have solid reasoning? :twisted:
