  1. PN 8th grade QB is a beast. I've seen him. Legit player. The 8th grade QB for TJ and RB for Lincoln, I,ll go with PA. IMO, out of 15 kids, player for player, I'll go with PA on football. 9th grade, just ask someone that knows. Lol Basketball, just ask about the 9th graders. Two on Varsity now. 8th grade, I'll give that to PA too, although Lincoln isn't so hot this yr. I don't think PNG or Ned have a kid better than the kid I saw Monday night for TJ. He put his team on his back. Really close game against a Smith team I hear was one of the tops in 8th grade in the area. Just my take on a fun discussion. Lol Your Turn lol
  2. I'll entertain this conversation with you young men. Lol. I don't know about all ages in PA, but 9th grade will humiliate you guys in football, basketball, and track. U have to add track. We will concede baseball.lol. 8th grade will win in football, basketball, track. Basbeall, we'll concede again. I've seen a few games of each of these grades play. 9th grade will be one of the best classes to come out of PA. I've been told they should have 3 on Varsity basketball and quite a bit on Varsity football next yr also. What do you say about that. Lol
  3. Lol Ur right. When is the big event? NederLand vs SETX. Olympic style competition. Basketball, Football? ? Baseball? ? I want to preorder my tickets.
  4. Is this a real discussion? Lol Seriously. Lol
  5. 33-30 Smith over TJ. #10 for Thomas Jefferson put on a show tonight. Smith is a pretty good TEAM. Their press was nice at times. Tough group of kids at Smith tho.
  6. 8th grade. Heard Lincoln isn't so hot this year tho.
  7. Thats hindsight bro. I said could have. I was told Vincent pressed the whole game. For whatever reason TJ didnt. Coaching plays a big part in youth basketball. I cant dawg a team for losing at the buzzer when I was told Vincent is one of the best in Setx. That means the team they played could be pretty good too. IMO, for whatever its worth. Lol
  8. Reading some of these amusing posts. Some of these guys getting too emotiona over diferences in opinion on MS basketball Lol
  9. Athleticism is in the eye of the beholder. Lol bad jk
  10. Looks like you guys better add TJ to that list of top 8th grade teams in SETX. Just heard about that game. Dont wanna ruffle any feathers but word is TJ could have won by a big margin. No press against a full court press. Lol You're asking to get blown out.
  11. Id like to see a SETX middle school league. At least 12 games, since theres a lot of talent around here.
  12. Yall seem to get a lil too emotional speaking on youth sports. But a win or loss in middle school does not translate to high school. Aau in this area is where you will see the most competition. Middle schools cater to a lot of parents and the coaches arent always up to par.
  13. Anybody know anything about the Port Arthur Middle Schools basketball teams?
  14. Points like that are cool, but it points to a real lack of competition. I've told kids that Ive coached over the years, to dont look at big wins against lesser teams as a marker of how good you are. Competition shows you who your really are. Not sayin the teams theyve played arent good, but scores dont mean much in youth sports.
  15. Does Johnson from Port Neches have any film?  Havent seen him play in a while.
  16. Found some footage.  The kid from TJ.  Not bad at all.  Heard its just his second year playing the position, and throwing like that.  A Natural.   [Hidden Content]
  17. All I know is that Memorial has at least 6 and upwards to 11,12 kids every year that get football scholarships. Some dont get noticed until the 11th or 12th grade because middle schools really dont develop kids properly: some do and some dont. Everyone on this thread is a little biased when it comes to their city and their ole FOOTBALL teams. LOL The south has talent in football. We all know this. I know that most kids on this list started playing football way b4 middle school. A kid not mentioned could easily be the only one to make it far. Who knows.
  18. Yessir, thats a lost art in youth football. Subpar coaches lack the knowledge to understand that blocking makes the team. Others get the credit, but we know where the game is won. I see it with TJ more so than Lincoln, because TJ passes the ball. Kids cant pass block at all.
  19. I know of Johnson.  Remember him from the Lil Titans.  He was dynamic.  Haven't seen him in a while. In you're opinion, who is the best passing QB? Dual threat?  In high school, they separate QBs like that.
  20.   Its time to develop the young arms in Port Arthur.  Toooo much talent to not have a division 1 QB one day!!!
  21. Kid for TJ looks around 6'2 and has one of the best arms I've ever seen at that age.  I've been told he has around 7 TD passes.  The kid for Lincoln is a good running back.  A lil cocky. lol, but so much talent.  bout 6 tds, I think. I've seen em both twice.
  22. #10 Thomas Jefferson QB - Varsity arm and size right now #26 Lincoln RB - Tremendous talent #55 Thomas Jefferson LB - One of the best in the area   I can really only speak on PA!!!
