  1. My last question I have for PNG is if they can stop an extremely talented running game that likes to pound the ball off tackles. The way WOS ran on them left me suspicious in that department. Other than that PNG is very good all the way around. I think this game may be a little closer than most are thinking. Only time will tell.

  2. That's right. I think it was Wade that made the game either last year or the year before. I remember it was at The Reservation. He did the coin toss?? Or was it Bum?? Seems like I remember them driving him out on a golf cart to do it? It's hell getting old. I can't remember things like I used to Lol.
  3. There are usually a few teams in the league that are "stacked" and you can attribute dad's getting with other dad's and coaching together and it just so happens their two kids are beasts. Then you have two kids whos mom's said they couldnt play football UNLESS they are on coach so and so's team because he is going to bring them to practice every day and that is the only way he can get to practice..and that all happened by a phone call to the other coaches so they wont pick that kid in the draft because if you do they wont be able to play...we are really doing a favor to the kid and the parents...i dont think the kid is gonna be very good anyhow so it really doesnt matter(if ya know what I mean) .then you draft 4 good kids the year before as underage guys and bite the bullet for this season but they are stud young boys who next year will be all first rounders.....so now your going into the draft with practically your entire starting offense and defefense besides a few lineman kids and lets face it...those 8 kids you automatically got are the ones that are gonna play from kickoff till the whistle blows anyhow. this is why you have teams blowing out other teams.

The only way to TRUELY stop it is ...The only kid who can be on your team is one coaches son. Every other slot on the team is drawn out of a hat randomly. The coach gets help at practice from parent on the team. Thats the only way you will ever even up odds in youth sports.

  4. I also agree with what you say, however do you realize there are 44 teams going into week 5 that have played a game and been shutout. Some of them more than once, so the question i have is, what are  the board and local associations doing about these WEAK COACHES ? Because you would think the time and effort would be even greater  to get these guys better educated so that we will not see so many GOOSE Eggs on the score board. So just  going on averages there are 11 teams will not score this weekend.  I am sure the guy from port arthur (lamar1996) and the want to be coach ( whisperer) will have something classic to say.

Again...this in itself is the problem. Youre stating the problem may be the WEAK COACHES???? I remind you...none of these guys are really coaches. Every once in awhile you get a guy who used to be a junior high coach or something along those lines but these guys are DADS who are offering their time....most the time it's the only men or women who would volunteer....so when you have people  including parents...other coaches....league officials or fans labeling the issue as WEAK COACHES....there is where it goes wrong. They arent coaches...none of them...they are doing the best they can do and your expectations are too high. They shouldnt be held to any kind of expectation other than making sure the kids have fun...learn the BASICS of football and stay as safe as possible. Every team that has ever played in the STJFL have leanred the bare basics of football no matter what their record may have been. So the problem is everyone needs to lower their expectations to a level that doesnt involve anything outside of fun, football and learning. Its when the parents and coaches who are consumed with themselves raise it to such a competitive level that it goes south.

BTW Lamar1996 and whisperer if you do indeed donate your time to these kids and coach...Thank you. It doesnt matter what the scoreboard says.

  5. On a side note...if Im not mistaken PNG O-line lost Tyler Moran to a partially tore ACL for the season. That will be a big gap to fill. If im not mistaken Tyler is a powerlifting phenom. Ive also heard one of the starting linebackers rolled an ankle and is on crutches and may miss a start this week also. Any other injuries PNG will be dealing with coming off of last week? Hopefully all the kids will have a speedy recovery and come back better than new and all the kids stepping up will just pick up where the others left off.
