  1. It seems that the Calhoun, Dishon debate arises every year about this time. The reality of this is that both of these young men are very talented athletes in their own rights. Both bring everything they have, 100% of the time to every game they play, and are both leaders on and off the field. Sometimes being in the right place at the right time means everything. Johnny was given the opportunity to be in these places and took full advantage of it. He is a great ballplayer, and well deserving of his accomplishments. Rocky has quietly and flawlessly done his thing, year in and year out, right here on our southeast Texas ball fields, and loves every minute of it. I am Rockys father, and I am very proud of him. Rocky and Johnny are friends, and I know they have alot of respect for each other.

I'm glad to see that Bobby Armstrong has a dog in this hunt. I haven't had the opportunity to see Bobby play in a few years , but it sounds like he's doing Great. Way to go Bobby!!!

  2. The Balla reminds me of one of those hard nosed Dallas Cowboy fans. They still talk smack even after they have gotten that tail spanked. Dallas pulled off the BIG UPSET last week, and I hope Kirbyville can do the same this week. Make some noise 21-3A. I have to hand it to Ya Balla, some of your post may not show much class, but you have been the biggest supporter Kirbyville has had on this forum all year!!! He's only been wrong when it counts A couple of times (WOS and SILSBEE)!!!!

    TAKE IT TO EM WILDCATS!!!

Its funny how the fans determine if a game should be close or not. Sometimes teams match up and sometimes they don't. Just ask Rutgers or LSU.....they were supposed to have blowout wins and one had a blowout loss and the other won in overtime. Its hard to get wins now a days on any level.....Appreciate a win for what it is.......A WIN! I can assure you that the Tiger players and coaches knew this one would be a tough one!

Anyone with any sense at all knows that the fans don't determine anything about the outcome of a football game. This can only be determined by the players and coaches of said game. I find it funny though that you would use the word Determine. Because Determination is exactly what I saw in Splendora Friday night. Silsbee was bigger, stronger, and faster than Splendora, but the Wildcats were determined to execute a flawless game, and except for the last 3 minutes of the game (fumble, and missed field goal) I would say they did. The WIN that we both appreciate so much could have just as easily been a loss. The Tigers made far to many mistakes. I am very proud of the Silsbee Tigers every year. WIN or LOSE!!!, but I'm not one to make excuses like " sometimes teams match up ". That's not what I saw as a FAN, and if you read a few other post here I think you will see that alot of other FANS at the game felt the same way.

As far wins being hard to come by: Just ask Hooks or Barbay, I think they might say teams with talent that are well prepared expect to win!!!

  4. "IT'S NOT THE SIZE OF THE DOG IN THE FIGHT, IT'S THE SIZE OF THE FIGHT IN THE DOG". : Mark Twain

The Silsbee D will have to step it up this week to win. It's going to be a long night in the trenches. If we can't stop the run it's going to get ugly. Bellville turned the ball over 6 times last week to Columbia. Their defense was on the field all night, and just couldn't keep up the pace. The Tigers will have to bring the A game, hold on to the ball, and let the defense have some rest to get the win!!!!

    TIGERS WIN BY 12!!!!

  5. A few weeks ago Bellville made a come back with 6 minutes left in the 4th to cover a 25 point spread against Caldwell and won the game. The loss kept Caldwell out of the 3a playoffs. I think the Caldwell coach might be having second thoughts about not running up the score. Like the old saying goes " Winners never quit, and Quitters never Win". Momentum plays a very big role in all sports. Once the momentum of the game changes anything is possible, and it's hard to get it back. WOS has a very talented team this year. They are going to be hard to stop, but it could happen. They have beaten teams, and beaten some badly this season. The fact is, they have held back against some of these teams or it probably would have been alot worse. The playoffs have started, and feeling sorry for your opponent could get you beat. I would love to see the Mustangs go all the way. Keep scoring at will baby!!, and do 21-3a proud!!!!!

  6. I was very impressed with Splendoras team. They played very disciplined football and came 5 seconds away from pulling out a very big upset. Silsbee won this one on talent alone. The Silsbee D had better find a way to shut down the run, and the stupid mistakes have got to stop. There was no reason for this game to be close at all, but it was, just like so many others this year. I'm going Monday to get some nitro pills for my heart. Just in case.

CONGRATS TO THE TIGERS!!! I AM VERY PROUD OF YOU GUYS!!!

  7. Rhodes didn't impress me much, but the Hazlewood kid is something special. Is he a sophomore? He's very impressive. Silsbee dominated for most of this game, but I have to give props to Kirbyville. Those guys don't know what quit means. Silsbee could learn a lesson for the Wildcats. It ain't over till it's over. Silsbee got conservative with the lead, and it changed the momentum of the game. Actually I would say this was one of the Tigers best outings, and also one of their worst. Congrats to B.k. Johnson for a very big night ( 3 interceptions ), and some other big plays in the secondary. Good win tonight for the Tigers.

Kirbyville has nothing to hang their heads over. They are a good team, and even though I hate to say it. I can see why the balla has been so excited about his team this year. Good luck to both teams in the playoffs!!!!

If Silsbee had so much talent for Kirbyville why they choke in the playoffs?

Have I missed something? I thought the playoff were still about 3 weeks away. If we are talking about 2005...well Silsbee beat K'ville in 2005, and in 2004. Come on balla, Don't be a Hater, just let it go!!

They shut Calhoun and Harper completely down last year and fixing to happen again but we win this year.

Harper wasn't the QB last year, but Calhoun had a Great game. Silsbee walked away with the win!!! I think the key phrase in this one is " but we win this year". This sounds like desperation. Repeat after me....Don't be a Hater, just let it go!!!

Who dat say gonna beat them Tigers? Who dat? Who dat???:lol::lol:

  9. I see yo lips moving balla , but I can't hear what your saying, and like the old saying goes, " never let em see ya sweat"!!!! It sounds to me like you might be a little worried about them Wildcats chances this week, and so you should!!!!

You like living in the past, but yo crystal ball is malfunctioning* so lets take a look into mine. 1st- Earlier this year Kirbyville gets " FREAKIN ROMPED", as you so often like to say, by a very solid Carthage team. 2nd- A few weeks later, OH YEA "ROMPED AGAIN"!!! This time by a very solid WOS team. 3rd- Kirbyville meets their 3rd solid opponent of the year this Friday, and their name is the Silsbee Tigers!!!!

Oh No!!! That's not THUNDER you here balla. That's the sound of them Tigers rolling over the Wildcats!!! ROMPED-ROMPED-ROMPED-DITTY-DOMP-DOMP!!!!:lol::lol:

    * malfunctioning- not performing or able to perform its regular function, broken

  10. Rhodes or no Rhodes, Silsbee wins this game! I for one am sure he will play, but it makes no difference. Silsbee has way to much talent for Kirbyville to handle. The Tigers have been their own worst enemy in several games this year, but this is the week they put it all together. Silsbees secondary has been playing very well all year, and will shut down any passing game Kirbyville might bring. I've herd some good things about Rhodes this year, and am looking forward to seeing him in action, but it wont be business as usual I'm afraid. The Silsbee D has been getting better every week and Rhodes will be lucky to get 100 yrds.

Kirbyville will not stop the veer, and contrary to popular belief Silsbee can pass successfully. Its just too lethal a combination for the Wildcats to handle, but I'm sure going to enjoy watching them try. Coach Bobby usually wont allow a blowout. So I won't go there, but this game won't be close.
