  1. District 38 and 37 have finished up district play.  Here is the list of games (times and locations TBD)

    Nederland vs Livingston

    LCM vs Lumberton

    PNG vs Jasper

    Central vs Splendora

I am not sure how all the teams match up, but hopefully it will give some good soccer.

  2. I agree with Bullets.  I think the "South America" factor will play a factor.  I think I am leaning towards Argentina.  I am not sure if the current Brazil team, although VERY talented, will be emotionaly strong enough to deal with the pressure of being the "favorite".

  3. Soccer is a wonderful game and the LCM @ PNG match was intense and well played on both sides.  Neither side were angels fighting demons.  It was teenage boys playing teenage boys.  Be careful to critisize a team for having "bad attitudes" and or "no class".  And to say you would be "ashamed" to be a teenagers parents based on their child's intensity and emotions in a game, on a playing field, is in itself about as "no class" as you can get.  There were no brawls and neither side was playing dirty.  I have been around this district a long time and I have seen many intense match ups.  It is more common than not for the winning side to say the losing side had bad attitudes when they lost.  Did a few of LCM's players lose their cool towards the end of the game. Absolutely, but they are teenage boys who were fighting with everything they had.  But the players (on both sides) did not play with "no class".  The players on both sides played hard.  The LCM players were giving just as much as they were getting from the PNG players as far as the attitudes on the field were concerned.  PNG had a few level headed players trying to keep their team mates in check, and so did LCM.  And yes, PNG kept their cool towards the end and a few LCM players lost theirs.  But rarely do teenage players stay totally cool in an intense defeat - including PNG players in the initial "hosing" as it has been dubbed by one side.  Again, that term can be described as "eyes of the beholder".  Congrats on a big win and all the good things that come with it PNG.  And congrats on a great match LCM, keep your heads up.

  4. Just a basic table for those that keep track.  If it can be pinned, that would help.  There is a lot of season left to play.  The district is very competitive this year (as usual).
