In the 4th Period, Sutherland told his players to wait until all the players crossed half court before they could shoot, no press, and the players were not to shoot until the ball had been passed 5 times on EC’s end. On a few occasions, players would drive to the basket with only 3 passes and other times they would shoot having only passed twice. The Sherrif was on restroom break so there was no one available to enforce Sutherland’s newly made rules.

It is hard to say who the starters will be for any given game. Coach Sutherland has his own formula to determine who will start a game. I haven’t been able to figure it out! However, he is quick to go to 3 or 4 Players in replacement in the first quarter. It is anyone’s guess who will be called up. Sutherland usually sees something he wants to correct or enhance on the court and makes adjustments according to each players ability.

This is a first for me to watch when one team scores 80 points in the first half of play.

If East Chambers is able to force West to Punt 3 times in the first half, then I predict East Chambers will win by 3 or more touchdowns. However, every successful onside kick the opponent recovers negates one punt. If the opponent successfully converts two (2) point conversions, then EC’s margin is two touchdowns.

Show me the data that you are putting into your logarithm. I go back 17 games for CP because 5 games are not available. The last 12 games are available for EC. Are the sophomoric statements a feeble attempt at shading statistics. I don’t believe the first round stats in district provides much light into current productivity, so I stop at 12.

Hasn’t EC played and beat Jasper 3 times this season? I’m not sure Jasper wants to play EC again, The outcome has been well established. The biggest lead was 56. There were no bench warmers and never any question about who maintained the momentum. Coach Sutherland rotated 2-5 players in at a time. I have gathered during District play the object is NOT to run up the score, but rather to keep every game competitive while giving every player the most significant play time as possible. Playtime seems to be directed at honing individual skills and promoting greater communication as a team. Subtle signals are constantly being passed between players and it is almost impossible to read. After 32 games, many of their responses/moves/positions have become reflexes. Hopefully, the Bucs will continue to improve their skill sets and learn from their mistakes. While moving closer toward regional completion, the degree of difficulty will also increase revealing whether they have learned the lessons necessary to reach the highest levels of 3A competition. In my opinion, #12 gave the strongest performance on behalf of Anahuac.

I would like to correct an error made during the introduction of teams. East Chambers has an Overall Record of 29 Wins & 1 Loss and the loss was by 1 point in double overtime. District Record of 11-0 Note to Self: Avoid being made a fool by Checking and re-checking a team’s record before making an announcement regarding a team record!

Coach Sutherland worked everyone into the game even when the Bucs were behind! I don’t question the GOAT! It didn’t make sense when they fell behind by 9 points, but he knew what they were capable of accomplishing. They overcame the 9 point deficit and won by 8. More importantly they played under stress which is what the Bucs can expect when the play-offs roll around.

Agreed. Coach is very good about playing everyone from the bench. He doesn’t wait until the end of the 4th period. The Goat has a way of working everyone into the game through out each period in a meaningful way. He sends players into the game with a mission and makes his expectations clear. This group of players work hard to fulfill every job given to them. Their record demonstrates their willingness to hustle and sacrifice for the team.
