1. Jasper LaMarque score seemed closer than I expected. Any insight?
2. ridiculous! Two teams that combined for 1 district win have 29 All District players. How does that make sense to anybody?
3. Look in July 2015, Silsbee, Ktz and a little HJ, there is a reference to a prior prediction. Not sure where that prediction is today, but bradyb could probably clear this up. If he says no I never predicted that I'll say I must have been mistaken. Either way, no doubt they could have, just poking fun at the prognosticators.
4. I swear I read somewhere they were going to score 100 in every district game this year. Another SETX forum prediction fails to live up to the hype. That didn't take long. Maybe when they get their starting PG back they can get those extra couple of buckets. :)
5. First off.. of course UIL ruled him eligible. Smith was/is exceptional no doubt but Patterson has a motor like no other big I've seen in high school. The fact that he can step out and knock down 3s, pretty elite level talent. Patterson had like 25 pts and 15 rebounds in the Champ game I think and pretty much neutralized Sterlings's big who was key to their run. Both probably deserving of the MVP but as far as being more or less worried, Patterson presents a matchup nightmare that few in 4A can match. Smith is a guard, Silsbee's loaded with guys to throw at a good PG. Still not much for #1 to worry about though.
6. Refresh me on the list of doubters?? #1 Ranking in state, return eveyone from Regional Finals last year, addition of the best two freshman to every come through SETX, Sounds more like heavy favorite than something to prove to me and I haven't seen doubters on this message board.
7. Good win for Silsbee. Central struggles with pressure and good guard play. This is not much different than what they face against Ozen and we know how that turned out last year. Just my opinion.
8. I'm not sure if there was an eligibility issue at Bridgeport because there seemed to be a a lot of people defending the way they went about it last year. However, if there was, the UIL needs to rip the title and penalize the coach/school. Even a casual fan could see that the situation allowed there was bs. The UIL wants to put it's head in sand instead of stand up for the overwhelming majority of student athletes that it is suppose to represent.
9. For the record it was 1-0 HJ Now pre-game was a different story
10. This is more about the UIL as a governing body than it is about the kid.  Being pulled up for the playoffs and going to the state tourney gettin medals seems like participation to me.  If it's not and there is no benefit for the kid or the team, why they do it? UIL is weak, always takes the easy way out. Eventually they will lose funding as they are not living up to their purpose. Congrats to the Tigers, but it will take a lot more than this to even up with what UIL ignores in Dallas and Houston.
11. Most ridiculous, delusional series of posts I've seen in a long time.  Why you ripping Silsbee bradyb? Saying they treating players like pieces of meat and would get beat by 14U teams wouldn't be something I would think an alum would be doing.
12.
With all due respect to Coach Haynes, this sure looks like a placeholder-type hire.  Bring in an older, respected guy to right the ship and upgrade things a bit and then try to attract someone in two or three years that will hopefully be a long-term solution.  I'm not criticizing, and that may be what the situation called for, but that is how this looks from the outside.
Seems to me like you are giving Lumberton Admin too much credit for having a long term strategy.  I don't think they look out further than the end of the week in most cases.  This is a hire that will pacify a certain contingent, for now.
13. He's a really good player on the field and the court.  I hope the best for him, but not sure how he would get another year of bball.
14. Are you kidding?  You've got the scoop on everything Tigers... My guess is no since he was on the 09-10 Team as a Freshman and hasn't missed a season since.
