1.
I think the more these Nav fans talk the more pressure they put on their teams shoulders. They already have enough pressure going into this game.  Carrying the #1 ranking and trying to hold on to it is a lot. WO-S has absolutely nothing to lose and no pressure, they will be well prepared. I don't care who beat who by how many points on what night with whatever moon phase was happening, and who's friends with whos uncles cousins brothers mothers first husbands sister-in-law. This comes down to execution on offense, defense and special teams. I very much believe in the old saying.....Defense wins championships Defense will proves itself Friday night....
WOS has tons to lose...  Afterall, the entire state knowS about WOS's defense and the comparision that some you are making...  Act as if you don't think that WOS has anything to lose, we all know better than that.. Imagine this, Navasota beats WOS and that great defense... All those shutouts gone out the window because they lost to Navasota... THE PRESSURE IS ON!
 2.
You guys are killing me in here. Just thought I would chime in on this matter too. Yes, I am a WOS fan. Which team will win...depends! Navasota...your only test has come in the playoffs, to LM. Your district is a joke (WOS is only slightly better, I admit), everybody beating everybody...except Navasota (undefeated). Two teams at 3-3 and two teams at 1-3 and you pound them into the ground to make it look like your offense is "outstanding". Nobody is fooled by this. You can run the ball but it is hard to tell how good your running game is...you have not been tested by a good defense. Lorena had a good offense, considered one of the best in 3A...they didn't fair so well. Navasota's game plan is throwing the ball...look at all of the game stats and you can't argue with this statement. Now, you essentially have two receivers (Collins and McGinty). If these two guys have a good night (not a very good, just good) it will spell trouble for the Mustangs. The secondary is and always has been the weakest link in this defense. Gotta go, can't finish post...sorry.
Stupid post....But since you want to play the score game... Here ya go! Let's see here... Navasota 36 Coldspring 8 / Navasota 31 LaMarque 20 *Coldspring 27 LaMarque 21 *LaMarque 35-Coldspring 21 Navasota 41- Fairfield 7 * Lorena 42 Fairfield 39 *Madisonville 24- Lorena 18 Navasota 38 Madisonville 0 Navasota 43- Rockdale 0 *Lorena 36 Rockdale 22 (Lorena came back in the 4th Q to win) Navasota 52-Taylor 0   * Gatesville (13-0) 35 Taylor 14 * Taylor 17 La Vega 14 *Carthage 56 Taylor 21 * Carthage 50 Silsbee 21 Navasota 66 China Spring 16 *Glen Rose 35- China 28  *Alvarado 28 China 14 /  Stephenville 48 Glen Rose 30  Stephenville 32 Alvarado 20 Navasota 59 Jasper 14 *WOS 17-Jasper 7  * Carthage 49 Jasper 31 WOS 20 West Columbia 10 *La Marque 48-West Columbia 0  * (2A) Hempstead 32-West Columbia 17

 4.
Seen them on film they are above average. #33 is a beast tho. And they haven't seen potent offenses and shut them down like WOS. That's what makes WOS elite
Neither has WOS... And, WOS is far from having a potent offense...  We get that WOS has a good defense... But what about other aspects of the game..offense, special teams, etc, that doesn't make WOS Elite...  See ya Friday!
 5.
Navasota so called great D just gave up 20 points to lamarque and if not for a turnover inside the 5 yard line it would have been at least 26!!!! So y'all can be scored on, it's been proven. So please don't throw your defense in the same league as ours and we won't throw our offense in the same league as yours! I believe this will be an extremely close game the entire night and that the game will come down to special teams and turnovers! This is why I believe wos wins this game. I give us an edge in the return game and in the turnover battle. Standing by my prediction of 17-14 stangs!
No one is claiming to be in the same league as WOS when it comes to defense.  However, when comparing offenses, I will give Navasota a huge edge.  Navasota's defense is good enough to get the job done... BTW, 2 of those LM touchdowns came on Rattler turnovers.
 6. All this talk about Navasota's offense and WOS's defense.  Only one thing has been left out is that Navasota's defense is really good as well.

I will leave it at that.  All year, Navasota hasn't played anyone... Navasota only passes... Navasota, this and Navasota that..  Navasota will lose to La Marque... La Marque will whip the floor with Navasota... La Marque 36 Navasota 21....  BLAH, BLAH, BLAH..etc...  Navasota goes up 24-6 on La Marque in the 3rd and chose to RUN.  Yes, RUN.  Navasota will be, I repeat, Navasota will be the best team that the Mustangs have seen.  I am not going to predict a blowout but Navasota will win and will do so convincingly.  And, there's no need to go back and forth all week...  We will make a believer out of WOS and the rest of the Golden Triangle.
Umm...Mr. Rattler...the same can be said about some of your Navasota followers.  Just scroll up and you'll see Cover 2's prediction of a blowout.  He's been popping off like that for two weeks.  As for BADSANTA, he's not from WO-S.  I believe he's a Silsbee person.  Most WO-S followers know about Navasota's success and potential.  You're always going to have a few outrageous prognosticators on a public message board like this one.  It seems you're only going to be satisfied if everyone just agrees with you that Navasota is going to win this game.  Sorry...but we're in this to win it, and you're team is in for a challenge.  If that bothers you, get over it.  If you win, we'll congratulate you.  If you lose...well...we'll see.
I wouldn't want every one to agree with me.  That's not normal.  As I stated, we will make a believer out of WOS which is different from saying that I want everyone to agree with me...  Just wait and see, Griff.
 8. I think they are the kinda team that goes short then sets you up for the long bomb. I think they will run a lot of short outs, bubble screens, etc. to try to get our LBs back in coverage (and away from blitzing) and then try to run on us. I see them playing a little closer to the vest in this game (at first at least) and probably trying to run the ball more than usual. The very little tape I have seen on them they don't seem to want to go over the middle so much, I think they prefer outside stuff. It should be game of the year in 3A. IF we can match up man to man with our secondary and let out LB's apply heat to the QB we will win. IF we can't it probably swings the tide against us. Just the way I see it.
Ask La Marque how we beat them...  I am not sure were all this long bombs...scoring quickly, etc comes from... Any reasonable, right minded being will take what is given to them.. If the deep post is open, well, take it...  Or the screen, or the draw.. You get my point..  Fedora and crew will know exactly will work or what they believe will work against any team that they will face....

 10.
WOS 27 Navasota 20
You also predicted La Marque 36 Navasota 21, correct?
 11. We were actually up 24-6 midway through the 3rd. This wasn't our best game due to turnovers. Yes, La Marque is a very good team and had something to do with that.
 12. Congrats to the Rattlers! La Marque- Nothing against the fans, but the team had to be the most dirtiest, classless team that I've ever seen.  The coaches cound't control their own players.  Before the game, going into the locker rooms, some La Marque players gave the Navasota the F Bomb with their coaches there with them.  The La Marque coaches didn't say a word.  Through out the game, late hits, extra pushing, mouthing, etc..  After the game, the police had to stop one or two Cougar players as they were trying to start more crap... One player threw his helmet to the turf...  One didn't want to shake hands has he walked off the field....  A total embarassment if I am a La Marque Cougar.... There's a big difference in history and pride, but this was just down right classless...  I am not sure what is going on or what has happened down I45, but, this is not the same La Marque program that I remember.

I pick LA Marque 34 to 29
It could happen, but I doubt that LM will score 34 on Navasota's defense... The most that the Rattlers have given up in one game has been 16 and that was against China Spring. The final 6 points came late in the game with Navasota already up 62-10.
That may be, but China Spring doesnt compare by the slightest margin to la marque. La marque in't the amature teams that Navasota has seen thus far, Defensively we are the real deal. And offensively, we have enough speed and talent to get the job done.
Yeah, I understand..... Blah, blah, blah.... Game time, put up or shut up!!!!

Im with you he caught it..    To answer my other Navasota buddy ,  Facebook,Twitter ,maxprep, and other social media sites  Theirs alot of words being thrown around  .   Maybe the Trash Talking was the wrong words to use , lets say supporting our teams to the fullest.    Now that the game is day away ,I hope both  Teams play hard and the players enjoy the Experience.      I liked to Say hello to Crimes County!!!!!! Bring some of that good BBQ I will pick up before the game lol
Got ya... Its all in good fun...  Good Luck to both teams and safe travels... Go RATTLERS!
 18.
>:( >:( >:( >:(  Why whenever La Marque play a new team, the first thing they bring up are fights. La Marque football program are know winning not fighting. So please stop trying to copout with all that fight stuff. I’m quit sure if you look back in your football history your team has had a fight are two. LM got into it with Ozen, but if everyone would go look up old news paper clipping they will see that Ozen was on their 2nd or 3rd fight that year.    Yes La Marque talks a lot of trash and can back it up, but when the other team loses everyone forgets that they where talking trash all week too. Like now Navasota fans are talking trash and LM fans are talking trash, but when the game is over .Lets say LM wins the game ,just set back and listen how only LM talked trash all week and Navasota just a helpless victim in all of this.        >:( If LM was as HOOD and Gangster as everyone claims them to be why UIL haven’t came in before. 20.
Good luck to both teams on friday.  The winner of this one has a good chance of bringing home a state title this year.  It will be another tough test for the winner next week with WOS. Gotta go with my prediction from predistrict though. Navasota wins state this year.  Not saying LaMarque can't beat them this week, or WOS next week, just saying in my opinion they are better than any team I have seen Coldspring play in the last 3 years, including LaMarque, WOS, Carthage in '10, or Wimberley in '11.
Thanks for the confidence in us. I'm a Rattler fan and I will be the first to tell you what I think will happen good or bad. I've been following Navasota football for a very long time and this team is the best that I've seen in years. IMO, this team is starting to peak at the right time. Just looking at the offense, we scored 62 and 59 in the first two games. This has been our best offensive output of the year. At a time when defenses and the overall team opponent play should be better, Navasota, has dominated two good teams in China Spring and Jasper.  Now, wether We beat La Marque by 1 or 35, it really doesn't matter.  We will need to continue to do what we have done all year.  If we continue to do that, I don't have in doubt in my mind that we will be successful. Btw, Navasota fans travel very very well.  We have sold out our side of the stands at both Buddy Moorhead and at Bryan High. So, yes, you may want to get there early. Good luck to all the teams remaining an may we all remain injury free.

They haven't played a team like La marque or WOS all year IMO, i think la marque will give them a run for their "rings". But offense will have to utilize a lot more of its playbook. Our plays last night were as simplistic as i've seen all year. All we did was run the ball down their throats with our two workhorse RB's and QB draw. I guess coach figured we would grind out this game and not throw it up for chance.
I guess that we shall see..  GOOD LUCK!

I don't care how talented you are as a team..you just don't blow through the playoffs and not have a close game. There will be a game where you come out flat (much like WOS did last night). From here on out if you come out flat your gonna get beat. Hopefully, WOS learned a lesson last night (plus West Columbia played their hearts out). If you come out flat against either LaMarque or WOS, you will get beat. I just think Navasota is due a bad game and never underestimate a team with the championship heritage that LaMarque has. I will say one thing, this region champion will win state, whoever it is.
Have you seen Navasota play this year? And, this year haS nothing to do with "HERITAGE".
