  1. I say we can stay within 5 TDs. We can keep possession long enough to avoid 6-7 touchdown margin.
  2. What happened? Was it before the season? Short notice? If it were me, no way in heck would I play the only team who can knock me out of the playoffs. I think that's where Argyle went wrong with Lavega the past couple of years. Potential opponent yes, but not a guaranteed regional finals opponent.
  3. You're right it's not the kids fault but at the end of the day WO-S probably looks better than they really are due to the competition as the other poster stated. Carthage has played better teams and it should be no argument that you should take them more as face value than WO-S. Maybe WO-S is that good, but when you take emotion out of things, Carthage seems to be the more proven team.
  4. Not saying WO-S can't beat Carthage, but what positions and/or areas of the game are they better than Carthage?
  5. 2013 was weird. The wind was like 27 mph. Worst wind conditions I've ever seen. The game was understandably sloppy for both side. As for Carthage fans being arrogant, don't let a small sample size of fans fool you. Truth is, we hear this EVERY year. Does WOS have the best shot? Yes, bit Carthage takes this. 4 out of 5 games have been against top 10 teams at the time. This dawg D is real.
  6. Didn't they call a timeout with 6 seconds left against our 2's?
  7. Wow you could have let that one slide lol. As a coach of a school that Lumberton could beat by 21, it's a good moral victory. Kids can at least say they scored the most points when they get back to school.
  8. I didn't say you were
  9. LOL. Last words of many teams we've played Why would they show anything against this Lumberton team? If you said beatable I'd have no issue, but "very" beatable? We beat the maybe the best dline in the state when we played PG.
  10. The wind was HORRIBLE that night. Neither team had their best showing due to the wind.
  11. Oh yeah big time. They lost to El Campo the following week. I think that team was 5-5 that season.
  12. That team wasn't as strong as some of the others. Surprised we even made it to the semis that year. We had either 7 or 9 starters out that game including Ingram. With that being said, they would have most likely one if we had everyone. That Lavega team was sick and VERY underrated. As for this game I think it'll be closer than most think. I look for a 21-7 score until late second qtr and Carthage lays it on. A friend pointed a few things out to me. That offense gives us fits if ran correctly, don't know how many players are attending the Volleyball game in Garland, the distance and the rain.
  13. The younger brother Dixon was hurt that season. It was Ingram.
  14. Thanks for the life story but that's not what I was referring to. Nothing you stated justified our comments about the coaches and using the word "negligence". This is not about where you come from but what these coaches have to deal with. Also, football isn't as big in inner city schools these days either.
  15. SMH. easy to say from where you're sitting.
  16. The ignorance of these posts are astounding to me. Especially the guy who said these coaches should be ashamed to take a paycheck when these coaches deal with so much more than your coaches. As for the community support, it takes money to travel and most of these parents don't work a 9-5. If Coach Surratt of Carthage coached in this environment I don't think he would excel. It's a different battle and headache altogether that only a few can deal with.
  17. I remember the fans ripping the coaches during the preseason which didn't make sense to me. I think their was something about he needed to decide on a QB and I was like isn't that what preseason is for.
  18. Do you WOS fans remember what I told you guys during the first couple of weeks in the season? I'm not shocked at all yall made it this far. Best of Luck.
  19. Saw a poster on smoaky picking HH to win by 6. Stated that they have quite a few starters returning this week. Is there any validity to this?
  20. Henderson by 14
  21. I wouldn't call them a disgrace to the sport. You try to put yourself in the best position to go a far as you can in playoffs. Kids will always play hard but I have no issues with playing the 2's in a game that affects seeding. Work smarter not harder. Especially if the outcome doesn't hurt you AT ALL, let the benchwarmers play.
  22. I'll put it this way. Both those schools would beat the crap out of Carthage. Even if we had the team from last year. The same would happen to Newton.
  23. Question should read how far do you think Newton could go in 4A DII. That's a more fun argument to me.
