I don’t live in Newton peep hole. I work in Silsbee. And I can comment on any game I chose. Is there a problem? Call em like I see them.

Silsbee not letting Martin run. That’s the first. problem. They just can’t recognize talent when they have it.

Kevin Shorter was darn good RB and he was D1 and an injury kept him from going to UT. So Newton has had many D1 players. Barlow is a good back but at newton there will be many great backs come through there.

Or at least make adjustments when needed at the position. It’s ok to play the other QB who is more accurate and can get out the pocket. I guarantee if Briscoe was at QB. Sylvester wouldn’t have taken the ball from him and scored.

Well if you let a DT take the ball from you and score then some adjustments need to be made. IJS

I doubt that’s the issue. If using them as practice dummies helped them be better and win a game. Go for it. Complaint is JV is not being coached to win. Coaches are more concerned about Varsity. And not all schools use JV in that way. Yes they may play against each other now and then but JV practice is with JV. Taking the time to perfect their positions. And not sit on the side line watching. No one wants to lose or in their case get beat down. As in the last two games. After all JV is the future varsity.

Yea. Sometimes parents take it too far and then sometimes they don’t take it far enough. Parents wouldn’t be saying anything if the kids don’t say anything about it.

Not saying it’s a problem. But a varsity team will look good against the JV. Overheard some Parents complaining about it.

Silsbee first of all need to stop using JV for target practice. Beating up on JV won’t help them nor varsity.

How can you tell someone who played the game at Newton was raised in Newton and been part of the Newton tradition that they don’t know. Nawl what it is you all don’t know. Until you’ve walked it or been part of it. You will never know. Only continue to spectulate and wonder. This thread was asking who we think would win. I am in no way taking away from the legacy WOS has but let’s be honest they are not the team they used to be. Do I think they will win their district. Yes. But come Friday night. I got Newton.
