  1. Take your hat off, be quiet during a "program" or prayer, don't put your trash on the ground or throw it out the window, say please and thank you, respect adults, don't walk down the middle of the road...should I go on?  It's one of the many things parents are forgetting to teach their children.  We now have character education at school but if it is not reinforced at home then it is useless.

  2. Silsbee Walmart was wild at 7:30 this morning.  They only had little gas cans(2 gal) but at that time lots of water.  The gas line was out to the highway (30 min. wait according to a friend).  All the lines were open and they were restocking the shelves as fast as they could.

Just up graded to warning not watch anymore.

We are preparing to stay but prepared to leave at the last minute if necessary.

  3. Please do not judge the whole team by the actions of a few. No one knows how many were involved but don't jump to conclusions about this please. The school district is not proud of what has happened and does not condone it. Remember the other athletes and don't degrade them also. I'm not saying that you are and if i spoke out of line then I apologise to you.

I hear you CS.  But I'm curious to know if this kid acted alone or is he part of a bigger steriods distribution network.  That particular steriod I never heard of before.....

Tamoxifen is the drug they give breast cancer patients.  I'm no expert but I think it's an estogen blocker.

  4. As the mom of a cheerleader, I can tell you the answer for most people is no!  It was really sad.  You would have a group of cheer moms and dads and a few fans.  Not even half of the boys would be represented by a parent.  I don't see how it is cost effective to run the concession stand on Thursday.  But I must say, now that my daughter is a Varsity cheerleader I no longer go to the JV games either.  BUT this is my 20th year to hold season tickets in Tiger stadium! (Did I just kind of tell my age?)

  5. I know Ice was a no show.  PNG70 was not happy because it messed up his schedule.

I was only out for a little while, I had bambino duty.  I guess you'll have to wait to hear from those that were there all day.

I know Miss Sain took a shot to the eye while I was there, so we need an injury report on her.  She was ticked off that she was having to leave the game.  One tough cookie!

OC Thompson was beating Shockers when I left.  I think it was good afternoon of real softball and not just practice so I guess it accomplished what it set out to accomplish.

Good luck to everyone next weekend.

  6. 14u Shockers will host a 5 game round robin this Sunday at College Street.  They will host several of the top Houston area teams in the 14u division:  MC Magic, Texas Peppers, Texas Ice, and Texas Hawks as well as the local teams of OC Thompson and Shockers.  If you are interested in seeing some great softball without having to drive to Houston---this would be the day.  Games begin at 9:00 and run until 4:30.  The teams are getting together to get ready for the ASA Hall of Fame Qualifier in Fort Worth May 24-25th.

    Should be fun! ;D

  7. This was joint project between baseball and softball.  They fired the softball coach in the middle of the fundraising.  I know they were working really hard to see this work.  It's a shame because the fields they use are miles away from the campus at a little league facility.  Football would never be treated like that!!!
