(reminders of Aaron Sharps high school career)
watched the freshmen team play. Kids must not have suited up dayton beat them by like 50.
Ouch lol.
oopsie  ;D
PN-G freshman got a piece of them to..41-12 oopsie again  8)
;)
They are in middle school right now. One is at Woodcreek middle school. They will be freshmen in the fall. I should have said "would/will be on the freshmen team."
So the talent pool is so broad and deep there at SC that they "may be" suiting up freshmen for the Varsity team???  Hmmm.... Interesting.
 2. Aschom78 - words well spoken. It's nice to see someone with your perspective posting on here. I look forward to seeing more of your post this coming year and hearing your perspective as the 2013 season progresses. Best of luck to SC this year and here's to hoping this years class proves my statement above to be irrelivent and incorrect. Time will tell.
 3. Probably the same as last year...  pompous, undisciplined, demanding respect - and then quick to cry when they get beat that the opponent should have been classified as a 5-A program. Did I forget anything?

Sc with there qb and two receivers back and that transfer running back. And Crosby with the twins and that tight end coming back. If they find a defense they would be serious contenders in D2.
Why do you think D2 is so much easier?  To me it's all the same.
In my opinion there are a lot more tougher teams in D1 than in D2. At least it was that way last year. I'm not saying that all teams in D2 are push overs. I'm just saying D1 has a lot more powerhouse teams. IMO that is.
I agree, the reason D2 is easier is because of the enrollment. Georgetown won 3 or 4 games in 5a before realignment. The powerhouse teams like Dawson, Georgetown, Summer Creek, and 4a state champ Denton Guyer all have enrollments around 2000 or above. All things being equal an extra 5-600 kids makes a big difference. Division 2 teams are usually within a couple hundred kids of each other which makes for less disparity between the teams.
Then how do you explain some small schools consistently beating bigger schools or even schools from a lager classification?  BTW, I wouldn't consider Georgetown and SC powerhouses yet.  Nothing against them, but SC has one playoff win and Georgetown had one good year.  Dawson is proven, but that's about it.  Even they lose to a few smaller schools.
Which smaller schools are you talking about??
Brenham, LaMarque, Navasota, Stephenville & Dayton.  Those schools have under 1,500 students and have consistently beat schools with a 2000+ enrollment.
Forgot about Ned
i guess i have a different definition of consistently then. ned is the perfect example. i read an article earlier this year by some guy who had ned winning the region and cedar park winning the state championship saying cedar park was the best 4a team in the state. at the time ned was like 3-1 and cedar park was 2-2 so naturally i thought this guy was off his rocker and wasn't going to read that trash anymore. ned played for a regional crown in d1 and cedar park won the state 4a crown in d2. he also said, ''with teams like guyer, georgetown'' and some san antonio school ''dropping down they should already have a playoff spot reserved''. georgetown has been in the 5a cellar the last couple of years, they won 15 games in 4a last year. i'm not at all being confrontational but what 4a playoff teams with 2000 kids has ned consistently beat. there's a single win over dawson but 2 losses to 2k enrollment schools, before that it was consecutive first round losses to crosby. not even the great la marque could consistently beat 2k enrollment dawson and manvel in the district and especially playoff time. what team like that has dayton beat. of course a good 4a team can beat the 5a teams like atascosita, chavez, reagan, and south houston but there's a difference between those high enrollment schools and a 4a district champ with 2000 kids. saying that i do believe any team can be beat a a given night.
Atascocita is probably a bad example, they as well as Kingwood got slaughtered by the likes of Westfield and other schools 1000+ higher enrollment in 13-5a. I feel like just about anyone aside from a 5a powerhouse would experience a similar fate.
Factually incorrect.  Westfield beat Kingwood 45-31 and although Kingwood lost 3 additional district games last year, no loss was more than 10 points.  I would hardly call that a "slaughter".  ::)
 7. I would suspect Credeur will take a head coaching position somewhere in the state before accepting an offensive coordinator position in Vidor. Just my opinion.

 11. I'm old school. It should be 2 teams.  District Champion and Runner up. Period.
 12.
I would probably say 2-1 in the preseason for the NDNs.  Silsbee being the loss.
I suspect it will be difficult to come away with a victory against Summer Creek.  A win is certainly obtainable, but would not surprise me if PN-G starts out 0-3.
 13. Truly the mark of an excellent program to turn it around like this.  Proof yet again.....you can never count this school out -- in any athletic event. Congratulations to this squad.  Best of luck to you guys moving forward.

Well Cents, where are the excuses??
You know my name is in your mouth a lot kid. Obsessed much? I didn't even say a word about the png vidor baseball game yet you still put my name into it like I was talking about it. Enjoy your little baseball victory kid. That's about all you'll be able to enjoy for a while lmao.
Kid?? I probably have underwear older than you son!!! Reason your name is put into it is because you ALWAYS have a negative comment torwards PNG whenever they lose, esp. to the Vidorians.
Which is rarely....  :D just sayin.

 19. Congratulations to this kid!  What an outstanding ball player, leader and all around young man. Haters gonna hate.  You just have to rise above and keep doing what you are doing. Let your voice be heard on the field.  The Pirates will miss this kid - but I am hoping there will be other Pirates coming up through the ranks that will keep Vidor competitive in football in 20-4A.  The tougher all the teams are in district, the better each of our teams get from being tested week after week.

One F-A-N. PAM has talent, but compared to some of the other region 3 5A schools they aren't anymore loaded. Remember PAM was a combination of 3 schools, but they still have a rather small enrollment in the 5A ranks and it's shrinking. I think Kenny has done very well with PAM. Jeff Mathews has done a good job with Vidor, but they are 2-3 in the playoffs the last four seasons and didn't win a DC, actually finishing 3rd twice and folks forget three years ago they were 2-8. In comparison Faircloth at PNG in that same time frame has one DC and two 2nd place finishes and went 3-3 in the playoffs, but folks remember only this past seasons 2-8 team. Faircloth's teams have been better than Mathews teams over that span, not by much.             Overall      Dist        Playoffs PNG      28-18      18-10        3-3            1 DC - 2 2nd Vidor    28-18      17-11        2-3            2 2nd - 1 3rd This is why I can't put Mathews in the top 5...Because I can't put Faircloth in the top 5.
NDN, the difference is PNG historically has had decent teams with a state appearance in 99 along with several playoff berths recently before BF took over. Matthews took over a dead program and brought them to life. There may have been one F-A-N that said that about Kenny, but there were several that were bashing him. It's not like there are alot of PAM fans on here anyways. ;D
Common misconception that PNG was a perrinial playoff team before Faircloth took over. They actually went to the playoffs 3 times in the nine seasons before Faircloth. With several 3-6 and 5-5 seasons mixed in. Also Mathews has been at Vidor for 10+ years (not sure how long) and only recently have they had any success. The guy has done very well in changing the overall sports culture at Vidor. Just not willing to say he is a top 5 local coach...Yet.
I lived in PNG for 12 years during those times. 04- 2nd rd playoffs 05- screwed by hurricane and coin toss 06- No playoffs 07- 2nd rd Playoffs 08- No playoffs BF is a good coach no doubt, but most people were ticked because of  the old coach run left, right, middle, punt offense. With 4 teams going to playoffs, I was a little thrown off by a BF coached team not making the playoffs when Neuman is making it year in and year out with all kinds of major injuries. BF had a chance to get creative and show his skills IMO and failed. I still think he's a decent coach when he has decent athletes there. He's about to go through a pretty dang good cycle.
I could not agree with you more.
