  1. Thank you Southeast Texas Coaches Association for having a volleyball all star game! East won 25-22 and 25-21. A big thank you to Coach Peltier from Hamshire Fannett and her assistant coach plus Coach Peveto from Bridge City and her new assistant coach for heading up the East team. Another thank you to players Kelsey Beard (Nederland) and Breanne Brown (PNG) for stepping up to play middles for the East. Congratulations to West team's Zandra Emanuel (CE King) and East team's Shay Mitchell (Lumberton) for being selected as MVPs of the game. And thank you to everyone who came out to support the very first SETCA volleyball all star game. The gym was full!

  2.  Friday, June 13th at 5 pm, Hardin Jefferson High School will be hosting the Southeast Texas Coaches Association Volleyball All Star game. Come out and support your area high school seniors as they play their last official high school volleyball game. Schools represented (from the list I have) are (East team) Bridge City, Deweyville, Hamshire-Fannett, Kirbyville, LCM, Lumberton, Nederland, Orangefield, PA Memorial, PNG, and (West team) Barbers Hill, CE King, Chester, East Chambers, High Island, Hardin-Jefferson, Huffman, Livingston, Tarkington, Warren, and West Hardin.

  3. Lumberton did a great job holding Friendswood to only one goal considering they played one player short for all but 8 minutes of the game. We were told the ref meant to pull a yellow card but when he pulled the red then he had to give it out. Friendswood does have a very good team. I just wish Lumberton would have had the chance to play them with a full team on the field. Best of luck to Friendswood and congratulations Lady Raiders for another great soccer season.

  4. The Lady Raiders dominated Brenham all night long. First goal by Kennedy Hardy came early in the game. Halftime was 1-0. Second goal was a great shot by defender Lindsay McLain giving Lumberton some breathing room. Last goal by Shay Mitchell was icing on the cake! Again, Lumberton's midfield, back line and goalie played an excellent game.  This is the first time for Lumberton to go 5 rounds deep in playoffs. I have to give a shout out to all the Lumberton fans who showed up last night to cheer us on. It was great! It was nice to see so many students, alumni and community come out to support the girls. Thank you!

  5. Lumberton Lady Raiders vs Tomball Memorial had a 2.5 hour lightning delay. Score was 0-0 after overtime sending the game to a shootout. Lumberton wins 4-2. Lumberton's goalie Lauren Scarborough blocked two of Tomball Memorial's shootout shots. Lumberton's shootout scorers were Shannon Flowers, Emily Harves, Shay Mitchell, and Lauren Glover. It was a really long night! Great job done by all the players! Looking forward to playing Vidor next Friday night.

  6. Lumberton vs Splendora

    Boys - Splendora wins 3-1

Girls - Lumberton wins 6-0 in the rain. They only played a 30 minute first half. Lightning came during the second half and the game was stopped. Scorers were Madison Carlton, Kennedy Hardy-2, Ali Hebert, Shay Mitchell, and Macy Mitchell.

  7. Lumberton Varsity Girls Soccer versus Hardin Jefferson at HJ last night......in the rain, in the cold, in the mud.....Lumberton wins 6-2.  Lumberton scorers were Kennedy Hardy-3, Shay Mitchell -2, and Macy Mitchell -1.  After watching all my children play soccer for more than 16 years...... last night's game has to be the most miserable game ever.  Both teams played hard, slipped and fell continuously, and laughed at each other. I even saw one referee slip down! It was so cold and wet. Hardin Jefferson scored first in the game which got everyone's attention. I thought HJ played well and am curious to see what will happen in round two of play.....hopefully on dry ground. HJ's goalie made several good plays to keep Lumberton from scoring more.

  8. Shay and Macy Mitchell - identical twins- from Lumberton sign to play volleyball for Wharton County Junior College in Wharton, TX.  Both girls are receiving scholarships. Congratulations to you both!!! Your love for the game, hard work, team effort, and discipline have all paid off. Can't wait to see what you do at the college level! God is good all the time......all the time, God is good!!
