Channelview If youve paid attention to all the teams and include new coachs new startegies as well as some teams going through a group of young players and what teams are returning players this is how I see it!
very disappointed at what i saw, 7on7  is set up for offenses to score and get timimg with routes and recievers. If they cant score a TD in 7on7 how the hell they going to score when it counts. I hate to say it but from what the team showed in 7on7 is that they have open recievers but a quarterback that cant hit them, balls not even close to the reciever on several throws and reading was way behind, I think he was like 7 for 25 on passes all West brook could complete was a pass to a running back out the backfield or a bubble route, terrible passing game so look for westbrook to over use hervey and teams stacking the box on them again this year if they dont hurry and find a passing game.  Against central the secondary did very well but once again offense couldnt score, passing game needs all the 7on7 practice it can get !
7on7 doesnt always equate to what your season will be, the work they put in on their own over the summer break (not 7on7) will dictate that IMO.
yea buddy I agree that , just know that West brook will put in its work in and every time those QB's throw the ball they get a little better!

 4. hope everybody got to see the best talent in the golden triangle today. West brook looks to be the Dominate team this year if that passing game ever shows up this could be be a good year in the playoffs. Hervey is lights out if you give him a seam! Defense looks much improved over last year they had there share of 3 and outs and stops on the goal line with some nice hits but once again its spring so we shall see in a few months! until then GO Bruins!!
 5. So why is it that Ozen and Central Played there Spring game at the Butch  and why is it West Brook will play there spring game at durley? Is that a coach choice or a district choice? To me these kids need turf practice fields installed at the schools or alternate practices at the butch , if you play on turf you practice on turf? Unless im wrong but even back in the day if you played on turf you would go practice on turf a few days of the week leading up to the game?  What yall think! Does it matter?
 6. That's great for Hervey ! He deserves it, I'm sure he will get more along the way he is a good back. don't get me wrong I'm Not saying they wont  be  good this year just calling what I saw and what they need to work on, just missed one of the TDs, they did better than PAM though in that spring black and white  game.  I read in the paper they only had 1 TD but hey it's still spring....Go Brook! And  I'm still calling Brook over PAM! As you may see on earlier post I say brook in the playoffs this  year but need to do some work on both sides of the ball, they have the talent.
 7. \was at the practice/scrimmage of offense  vs defense yesterday and Its looking like West Brook might be struggling in the pass game, quarterback was not accurate, was just throwing them up a few times. hervey had a few good runs on the ground but the defense didint have many hits and offense still struggled to score. Think we only saw 2 scores from varsity- both on the ground and they played about 25 - 30  plays. I know its really to early to tell so hopefully things look better when the season starts!  I will be at the spring game and see if things change a little....Go Brook!
 8. I went to one practice and from what i saw they have a Big Line and seem to me there sure were alot of scouts out there im not sure what schools exactly cause i wasnt close enough but they aint there for nothing! Blueit - Hervey - Padia - Ward , man i heard some of those names before in the past around this town and that sounds like this has the makings of a good season, GO Brook!!
 9.
If Flannigan plays the right kid at QB, West Brook will be one of the four playoff teams. If not then the season will look a lot like the last one. As far as the speed statement, Hervey the returning starting RB ran a 10.6 hundred meters and is pretty fast. I'm hearing that the new strength and conditioning coach has the players looking like beasts. Will see???
We will see who looks ready in Spring? As for Hervey that kid has alot of talent man if they can spread the ball and make some lanes for Hervey he will blow it up this year!
 10. man I like mine with cheese, bacon, mayo, Lettuce, pickles with jalepenoes ! And make sure they toast the buns!
 11. Well I will say this West Brook gonna shock a few people this year them bluiett boys bout to show up and not only r they going to the Playoffs but im calling  they will beat Deer Park and Memorial!!  :o
 12. Look for these returning players for West Brook to have huge impact and for the sophmore to make a name for himself Andrew Bluiett-  OL/DL -senior Christian Bluiett- DL - sophmore Devin Padia - QB- Senior Justen Hervey - RB - Senior
 13. Having a year and a half in this new system West Brook is returning like 15  players ( the entire offensive line) but seems all the critics are writing them off! What do you think, leaving out your bias my schools the best attitude. Is Flanagan going to produce a winning year this upcoming season?
 14. Look for Central to do what West Brook did this year which was learn a new system!  Ozen to just find a way to be competitive next year. PortArthur looks like they have another fast team to be dealt with, dont think they will be as good as the last 2 years but good none the less. West Brook looks to have some 2014 seniors that had playing time last season and a few should have a good season, definately i feel they should have a winning record. Once spring ball starts we can see what ole' flanigan will do,  what athletes he has this year....
 15. The Bruins Started Fast and fell apart with the one sided no strategy run the ball offense it showed with the cant catch you or cover you on defensive play! Really impressed with the Speed of Memorial ! PAM good luck in the playoffs!
 16.
Very few coaches have the ability to win right away. Even great coaches can struggle in their first year trying to get things the way they wanted. Nick Saban at Alabama and LSU struggled big time at both places the first year and then won national championships in both spots. Stump struggled in year one too, and then got it rolling. Give it a year or two and the brook will be getting into the playoffs.
All joking aside your right on that and all the smack talk about the Brook winning against PAM was just that smack talk, next year will be an up year for the Bruins they are returning alot of players. As for the coaching aspect we have no idea what this coach is accomlishing this year???? And its does take a year to get the systems in place but hopefully it shows through for Seniors next year!
 17.
Back to the topic at hand. I voted for PAM, in the poll, not because I've given up on my team, but because I'm a realist. Based on what I've seen out of WB, this year, it ain't gonna happen. Granted, the Bruins are only playing 3 returning starters from last years team, but there have just been entirely too many mistakes, in too many games. The worst part is, they don't seem to be correcting them. Hopefully, I'm wrong, and WB will sneak away with a win, but I think the odds will be in the Titans favor in this one. As I've earlier said, no playoffs for Flanagan in his first year. I certainly hope it gets better for next year.
WB    35 PAM  31 After what i heard I will say that I think flanigan was under estimated in what he was accomplishing so far this year, Ill just say that if WB loses this game then it will be by a small margin but if Flanigan wins then he has pulled out the biggest smoke screens ive seen in high school football. It all comes together against PAM.....if its close than next year they may be ok but If my source is wrong on this than time to start Looking for a new coach
 18. WB better figure something out! I was not at the game but will be at the memorial game this friday to see if this coach is on to something or just grasping? The stats show they were moving the ball but with 3 picks and 2 fumbles even one pick returned for a TD, move the ball all you want youll still most likely lose. Turnovers better stop to beat memorial but I like the game management on offense! First time i saw stats when playing an above .500 team that had anything positive in them. Ozen game had similar stats but only 2 turnovers one pick on the last play of the game and one fumble by the back early in the game. West Brook is in a rebuilding year thats obvious and to me looks like they may be onto something for next year or a late run this year the running back tandem if they could get some help from the passing game could really put on a show but we will know as soon as the memorial game is finished!
 19. alot of talk about how Central is going to win! Man i know central needs this game but didnt Livingston beat LCM and Ozen this year? Central although they have some talent especially at QB i just dont see the Offensive Line holding up there end of the Bargain! Livingston  38 Central      28

They got to get some turnovers and at least get some three and outs or something and that has not been seen alot this year. and for the qb start i say let the junior get another game started to see if he can get some things moving if not you can always put clack back in and roll with him but the Offense when facing a good team needs to score some points to help that defense out!
I would like to see the 10th grader playing JV taking snaps on varsity. He has a great arm and is a really good athlete. Plus he can't do any worse than Clack or Padia.
WOW Yeoj you must be the 10th graders friend cause if you know anything about WB and seen the JV kid play and practice you know that kid is not even close to being ready for Varsity...lol..maybe next year he can make a play for the spot but I would bet against it, Also Mouse your comment on Clack being mobile is a joke as well, clack has the least amount of yards on the ground on the team and has been sacked at least 6 times per game, where as in two games Padia has shown good running and scrambling and has 2 rushing TDs  and more rushing yards than clack, oh yea clack has 0 rushing TDs!  All said no matter who starts they lose to north shore 9 out of 10 times, but would be nice to see Flanagan get some experience for Padia since he will most likely be the guy next year!
You must be Padia or his parent. He's a hard worker but not the answer. And the 10 grader is as ready as Clack or Padia is. Its not like either one is setting the field on fire!
No YEOJ im not either of the two just a westbrook fan and alumni who follows very close on what Westbrook is doing, I go to practices and talk to the kids, I go to the Games to show support but as a football fan and ex player I see some things in the team that i like to express on this site. Look the 10th grader aint even close to being ready cause if he was and gave them a better option he would be in the game or at least on varsity, ! Takes more than a QB to win games but the only thing i can be accused of is being a Bleacher Coach, which i find fun, Hopefully Clack and Padia both get utilized for what they bring to the game so that they can both get a little exposure , hell Clack is a Senior and needs all the feild time he can get and Padia is a Junior who needs all the experience he can get, so good luck to the Bruins and Im sure this coach will figure it out in a few years or he will be coaching somewhere else, I am sure of that and dont have to be a parent or player to see it! And the only thing keeping these kids from setting the field on fire is the play calling!!

 22.
The problem I have seen, at least with Clack in at QB, is that he stares down Spearman, and only throws to Spearman. Now, I didn't see the Channelview game, but from looking at the stats, it looks to me like Padilla threw to more WR's than just the one. WB will have to play the entire 4 quarters, to even have a chance. And from what I've seen out of this offense, it's too hit and miss. They haven't been able to drive the field, against a team over .500, all year long. Padilla seems to bring another dynamic, that Clack doesn't have, in his ability to run the ball. I say, play Padilla, and start tuning up for next season. You may even put Clack in at WR. He's certainly tall enough. NS will probably push WB around the first half, and will put in the 2's and 3's in the second half. This will probably be another LP/DP game, in that WB's defense wont be able to stop NS's offense, and the Mustang offense will probably hang 50 on us. I'm not being a pessimist, just keeping it real.
I gree with all that ... 8)
 23. If brook can throw deep and also the defense get some turnovers then watch out might be an upset! But if not I have to go Westbrook.  28 Northshore.  56
