Lincoln never recruite. And yes TJ did beat them in 99. I was at Mardi Gras when word got out and people were shocked. My dad had a shop on Houston Ave. growing up and the joke was as good as Lincoln was there were even better street ballers near Carver Terrace playing on the court that never went to school.
No. Lincoln went to Austin in 99 when Coach Gamble came back out of retirement for that year...in 2000, TJ beat Lincoln to go to state...They were blown out in the semis...

You run your blood pressure up these days at Central games. I can imagine how animated you would be at a 3rd round Central Playoff game. ;D ;D
I am with you on that Soulja! Need to get a check-up soon! ;D Good luck to the Jags tonight! We need two 20-4A team's to represent at the Regional Tourney this weekend!!
Good luck to you and yours Dawg ( even though you really don't know anything) Keep in mind your district co-championship was insignificant!!!!
Significant to some...routine to others, except the CO part....that's just unacceptable! ;D

100% NOT POSSIBLE....Honestly, it would be MORE believable had he said at Ozen, even though that was not the case either...But LINCOLN? That's laughable...EVERY kid that could walk and chew gum in Port Arthur wanted to play for Lincoln...Recruit for what? Makes no sense at all.
Prove it dickie. Right now its your word against that guys and frankly i'm leaning towards believing him more than you.
Prove it? For what? Nothing to prove....thats just fact...believe whatever you want.

Beaumont Central vs. Kingwood Park
And don't Box and 1 the TEAM! Because it is a TEAM!!! Can we go man with a mixture of 3-2? or 1-3-1?
You just spoke a foreign language on the site! Box and 1 is effective if done properly, but its a defense that should be done in spots..if you do it for the duration, it becomes less effective..I don't think Kingwood Park has a player worth spending that kind of energy and attention on anyway... -

Baseball season starts TOMORROW in Nederland.... ::) 8) -
A large majority of schools recruit. It happens. I think Wise gets so much negative attention, because he puts up so many points on people. HISD has open enrollment. The great coach Boutte did recruit himself. I know of few people he tried to get and they denied him. I was offered a position on one of his Lincoln teams to get one of my friends to come over. I was no where near the player of my friend, but he knew I could influence him. Many people from the Port Arthur area know many kids zoned in the T.J. area played basketball at Lincoln. No one questioned the Houston Bellaire team that was stacked with Emeka Okafor. There were many players on that team from other areas in Houston. When I was in high school I saw a lot of kids transfer into Silsbee to play basketball. Also Nederland lands a lot of Port Arthur kids on it's Football team. I know quite a few, this years tail back, who made the move due to a crowded back field at Memorial. Does Wise recruit, probably so, just as many others do. But I think he is just better than most. Hell I know back in the late 90's, plenty of kids from Beaumont were playing ball at Hardin Jefferson.
You became a member on here to tell THAT LIE? ::)
Yates recruits plain and simple simple and plain like i said in a earlier post I knew Xavier (who played on the 2008-2009 state championship team) personally and he was from LUFKIN originally and just so happen to go makes his way all the way to 3rd explain this to me DICKIE V please
What if the kid MOVED to that area from Lufkin? If you are talking about Xavier Robertson, he DID move less than a mile from the school as a FRESHMAN, actually..How do I know? I recruited him when I coached Lamar State!! ;)...He was not recruited to go to Yates...try again....So if he moved near FB Hightower, and went there would you jump on the "he recruited him" bandwagon, and accuse Coach Green of recruiting, too? Probably not...People kill me when they DONT know that they DONT KNOW.. ::) ::)
I am speaking of SURROUNDING districts as well....Alief, Fort Bend, Katy, Humble, Aldine, Clear Creek, Pasadena, Pearland, etc......(there are more) HUNDREDS of schools....Privates too...
Oh, gotcha. I thought the discussion was only about kids who live in HISD can choose which school they attend before their 9th grade year begins. So, can a kid who lives under the HISD umbrella attend a school in FBISD if he chooses?
Yeah, thats correct...If he attends as a 9th grader, he is good to go right away if he makes a varsity team...If he transfers into Fort Bend, he must provide proof of residence, or he can't play varsity for a calandar year...They are pretty strict about it too in FBISD, and will not allow it if they suspect its for athletic purposes.

Apples= small pool to pull from, ONE school to attend Oranges= larger pool to pull from, HUNDREDS of schools to attend PICK ONE...The talent is often diluted among hundreds of Houston area schools....Yates is the hot spot for now...LOTS of schools has had their TURN in the Houston area...Willowridge, Bellaire, Milby, and now Yates...Very few programs have maintained success without being the "it" school..And it is difficult to maintain...Schools like Wheatley and Madison survive off of basketball tradition...The steady stream of real talent is in the suburban areas now...Families do not live in the inner city anymore...Grandma is still there, but there are not many young families there anymore...THUS the reason why it is difficult to maintain being the "it" school.

His recruiting just went up! National Recognition! Great strategy by Coach Knight.....what do you guys think? Was it worth it?
Oh man, give him an A+ for taking advantage of situation and turning it into a gold mine. On a side note, got word one of his recruits is ready to leave Texas Tech and head to Uof H.
So then DV you would agree that it was classless on the Silsbee boys to take their jerseys off and run up to the HJ fans and taunt after SIlsbee hit the three pointer at the buzzer to give the Hawks their only loss of the season. Right???
If I were the Silsbee coach, I would have definitely addressed it, yes...I just feel there is no place for all of that in high school or collegiate athletics..Kids will CELEBRATE winning, but to TAUNT is just not necessary. Sportmanship is a big part of ameteur athletics that is not emphasized enough in my opinion...What those girls from BH did was wrong, but what would be worse would be if the coaches did not address and correct it.
Dick, that was during your hiatus/banishment. It must have been another DF. My apologies.
So the fact that Murray State is ranked 12 and is ahead of such teams as Michigan, Wisconsin, UNLV, Indiana, Louisville, Temple and Notre Dame should be dismissed as not credible because "in the end they are Murray State" and the others are Michigan, Wisconsin, UNLV, Indiana, Louisville, Temple and Notre Dame"?
Of the teams you named, I would take 4 of the 6 all day long against them, yes...and possibly the other 2 at home! They are Murray State....at the end of the day....STILL just Murray State. -
