I think all the teams are closer in talent than most believe and obviously and injury here and there makes a huge difference.

This was a great game. Played hard by all. Anahuac has the most speed I've seen this year. Warren's coach (can't believe I'm saying this) won this one. Oh yea, Anahuac has an awsome band. Very Very impressive.

Yes. Deweyville won the game in Deweyville. It was the first district game, and a close one. Warren's guards fouled out with 7 charges being called, Bland played a good game. Warren won the second game, was not very close at all, Bland didn't play. Warren also defeated Deweyville in the Spurger & Evadale tourneys. The only quarter Deweyville outscored Warren was the 1st quarter in Deweyville where the charges were called. I can't believe they have a District game scheduled Dec. 14, the rest of the district game doesn't start untill January.

I would probably be one of the last to root for Hardin. But Coach Haines has done a terrific job turning their program around. I feel he should be coach of the year.

I never intended to question Buna's coach, just stating my (obviously minority) opinion. I felt that Buna could have moved the ball in OT. Hey, this was a game for the ages and will be relived the rest of these young men's lives. Some of these kids will be best friends with someone they butted heads with last night. Great job by both teams!

In my orginal post I didn't mean to imply that the officials were bad. Push, throw or double hit is very difficult to determine at the speed the game is now being played. I feel the rules are ambiguous. From what I have observed, Bumps and spikes are being replaced by push/throws & double hits. Skill level, expecially for spikes and blockes, seems to be diminished. But I have been watching 3A-1A maybe that's the difference. Please don't nail me with the ref. question, been there done that. But I really like the discussion, you all have made great points.

EC 34 Buna 33 with a minute left, With the intensity of this game I would have played for overtime.

This was a great game. Hard hitting, a real battle. Buna was much faster than I anticpated. Thomas had a rough time, but was the difference. Felt like Buna should have went for the tie. Some questionable calls. Best game I've seen in years, well worth the trip.

Tonights game will tell the tale. Mr. Thomas can do so much more. I was impressed with Nolan, he is an excellent QB, but Marsh helps him a bunch. Thomas can probably pass and catch on the same down. 8)

Yes they do. But from what we saw this summer (I know "summer ball") BS will compete with most 2A schools. Brookland didn't have anyone who could handle BS's big boy.

We played them both during the summer and I'll have to go with Big Sandy. I'm telling you all BS is for real! They have the full package.
